Welcome to the forum.

For best results, please see: How to write your question to maximize your chances to find a solution

In particular, what Nucleo board are you using, and please show the schematic of how you have it connected to the BQ4050.

So what have you done so far to try to find out?

Do you have basic comms working? eg, can you read the Device Type and Version registers?

Have you used an oscilloscope on the SMBus lines to check voltage levels, clean edges, noise, etc?

Have you used an analyser on the SMBus lines to check that your comms are in accordance with the BQ4050 specifications ?

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.
