Can't Run or Debug from CubeIDE

Chao
Senior

Hi

I don't know what happens, I just restarted my laptop, then it does not run or debug from CubeIDE. Before I retarted the laptop, I was debugging. When I click to Run or Debug, there is nothing appearing in the console window.  I closed the IDE twice, but nothing changed.

Anybody knows how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

wait, i just searching my large blue glass ball , then i can tell you what to do.

or

- which cpu / board you talk about ?

- what you did in detail ?

- show pic, connect with CubeProgrammer, what its telling.

- on which system ?

- whats your last program ? used pins...needed debug pins ?

- any error messages ?

Where, exactly, do you click?

On this icon:

press the little down-arrow - is/are you debug config(s) listed?

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I think it's nothing to do with MCU or board. I just launched the Cube Programmer and it can connect to the target F767 MCU on a customized board, programming is also OK. It can build my project.

I cleared the console, and then clicked on Debug button or Run button as shown in the following picture, nothing happens:

I have not seen any error message so far.

I have worked with CubeIDE for years, and this is the first time I come across this issue.

My laptop has 16GB memory running 64bit-windows 11 or 12.

I alway click on the bug icon which will launch the debugger for the project listed on top, also for run icon. I also tried to click on the arrow and select the project on the top, but nothing happens in the console window.

I can also see a message of "Launching Tunnel: 0% with a progress bar flashing away quickly, this means I did click the bug icon successfully.

Try building the project. Does it build?

Reboot machine.

Again...

>show pic, connect with CubeProgrammer, what its telling.

or

if nothing responds in IDE...try delete its logs:

delete > .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench/workbench.xmi < , then it might (!) start again.

>Try building the project. Does it build?

It builds OK

>Reboot machine.

Tried twice already.

I clicked on most of the following icons, they all work except for the Debug and Run:

Before I restarted the machine, I was working with the debugger, I found my Serial Port Assistant software didn't work properly (it didn't print debugging text messages from my F767 board any more), so I decided to reboot the machine to resolve the issue (this usually works before), so I did the reboot, but when I launched the CubeIDE I found I can't run or debug from the IDE any more.

I closed the IDE then deleted the file you suggested, start the IDE, click on Run or Debug icons, the issue is still there. Other icons work fine.

>my Serial Port Assistant software

What is this ??

>> show pic, connect with CubeProgrammer, what its telling.

Just to know, about connection to target , ok ? ...etc.

Other experimental try...set debug to OCD , then try again .
