Hi
I`m using PNUCLEOWB55 Board for testing USART1 interrupt communications.
I have started a project from scratch using CubeID 1.10.1 and choosed PA9 and PA10 as TX/RX respectively with following configuration 115200Baud, WordLen 8bits(including parity), Stop bits None , Parity None.TeraTerm on the PC is also configured same way.
I have enabled NVIC interrupts and using receive callbacks like below
/* USER CODE BEGIN 4 */
void HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart)
{
HAL_UART_Receive_IT(&huart1, &data[0], 10);
}
/* USER CODE END 4 */
Callback is executed after 10 characters have been send from TeraTerm. Problem is , data array holds entirely different data from what I have sent. I have also tested
USART_Communication_Rx_IT example project but still similar issue.
I have also tested PB6 and PB7 but nothing changed. There is nothing wroing with the generation of interrupt or execution of callback. On the PC side I`m using a USB to serial converter cable. This is how USART1 is initialised

huart1.Instance = USART1;

huart1.Init.OneBitSampling = UART_ONE_BIT_SAMPLE_DISABLE;
huart1.Init.ClockPrescaler = UART_PRESCALER_DIV1;
huart1.AdvancedInit.AdvFeatureInit = UART_ADVFEATURE_NO_INIT;
if (HAL_UART_Init(&huart1) != HAL_OK)
{
Error_Handler();
}
if (HAL_UARTEx_SetTxFifoThreshold(&huart1, UART_TXFIFO_THRESHOLD_1_8) != HAL_OK)
{
Error_Handler();
}
if (HAL_UARTEx_SetRxFifoThreshold(&huart1, UART_RXFIFO_THRESHOLD_1_8) != HAL_OK)
{
Error_Handler();
}
if (HAL_UARTEx_DisableFifoMode(&huart1) != HAL_OK)
{
Error_Handler();
}
/* USER CODE BEGIN USART1_Init 2 */
HAL_UART_Receive_IT (&huart1, data, 10);
/* USER CODE END USART1_Init 2 */
}
All of the code I have pasted here is generated except the calls to HAL_UART_Receive_IT and HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback.
I started to think that there is another problem with the board itself .
I started to think there is something wrong with my board jumper settings or clock tree configuration but can`t tell where to look at.
Can you tell me what i might be missing ?
Thank

Try searching for "usb to serial 3.3v" or "usb to serial ttl". Most web sites that sell electronics sell some version of these. Digikey, Mouser, Farnell, old biggies like Avnet, hobby targeted sites like Adafruit and a bunch of others that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Google it or search on Amazon "usb to serial ttl"
