STEVAL-STRKT01 LoRa tracker maximum range and frequency data send

Jérémie PIETRI

Hello,

We are a group of students of Polytech Nice in a project using the STEVAL-STRKT01 LoRa tracker for GPS detection in the mountains. We know that this tracker is able to detect the accelerometer and we would like to use it with interruptions if the values change drastically in a short time. That being said, we are having troubles with this board and we'd hope anyone could help us.

This LoRa tracker is supposed to be able to send information across many kilometers (could you confirm this please?), but last week we weren't able to send the buffer for over one kilometer. This may be because of the weight of the buffer of the topology of the terrain, as we were in the mountains between 800 and 1200 meters high, and there were many trees between the transmitter and the receiver. So do you know if this board is sensible to the topology or by things in between ?

The code for the tracker was given to us and we haven't found a way to change the frequency data send. This code is contained in a Keil uVision project attached to this text (STM32C...\Projects\STEVAL-STRKT01\Applications\LoRa\Asset_Tracker\MDK-ARM). We have modified some #define values like SEND_INTERVAL_DEF in the main, but nothing happened. Any chance anyone knows how to change the send rate?

Also we have never used interruptions before but it can be useful for the project. We have found some lines talking about interruptions, do you know how they work?

Concerning the gateway, we have used some UCA 3.5 boards using an Arduino code in the following GitHub repository: https://github.com/CongducPham/LowCostLoRaGw

Do you know if this board is powerful enough to receive information from the STEVAL-STRKT01 tracker across many kilometers?

Thank you very much for your time!

If you need any details let me know.
