A read lock would be worthless if you could just unlock the lock and read the processor. So, what processor manufacturers do is erase the processor on unlock.
You unlocked the processor, you can now put in your new code and lock the processor. Nobody can read out your code and duplicate your product. Clever, no?
Now, if you were expecting to be able to unlock the processor, read out the code, and relock the processor, you've deleted the code at the unlock stage.
This isn't an issue, it's by design. It is for intellectual property protection.
Back to you COACH.
