For testing purposes, I would use the "simulator" code generation option for STM32CubeIDE. I would then check the procedures in the IDE. Is that a possibility?

STM32CubeIDE does not come with a simulator, such as provided by IAR or Keil.

But you can use QEMU or something else. Or a compatible evaluation board.
