All I am reaching out for help from anyone who has successfully used the STSAFE-A120?
I have purchase a stm32l452re numcleo and stsafe arduino board and I have manage to get the examples working, however. The examples are full of bloated software and only cover specific use cases of the device. I have search hi and low for information on this device and all I can find is poor. I have raised a ticket with ST, no one hhas contacted me in over a month, this is poor. I am perservering with device because it allegedly satisfies my requirements, but having to reverse engineer a product from examples because of unsatisfactory documentation is not professional or sustainable in a commercial product. I hope someone (ST) can help. I've include the last update to my ticket so you can appreciate the issue I'm facing. C'mon ST, you can do better than this!!!! Thanks
Ticket update....
I am saddened that no one has got back to me on how to use this device. I have made some progress in terms of downloading the examples and getting them to work, however this is not enough. The software examples are heavily bloated and are not well documented. Moreover they do not explain how the device works from an i2c perspective.
I have manage to emulate some of the examples, but just copying the functionality of an example is not equivalent to understanding what is going on and how the device works etc.
As such I have scoured the st web site and internet for information on the i2c registers associated with this device. There is a document called the STSAFE-A120 dATASHEET, DS14609. This is helpful in explaining the high level activities of the device however, the description of the Command Sets, Section 4 is woefull. Please read it, it provides no information whatsoever. Is there a reason for this? The only two that I can think of is
1) There has been an editorial oversight on this document and the appropriate content has not been used.
2) ST are deliberately not publishing the command set! The only reason I can think of for this is that an NDA is needed to access them. In which case why is this not explained in the document, together with the process of how to apply for an NDA and get access to the i2c command registers and sets?
I despreately want to use this device, but I am having to reverse engineer it, which is unacceptable.
I look forward to a reply.
Many thanks
