Hi,
I'm interested in using the cool STM32F2 devices. Some of them also contains symmetric key cryptographic support. Does this mean that they fall under the Wassenaar Agreement? #crypto2012-02-18 02:45 AM
Why would you worry about such things? Don't know where you're from, but none of those crypto laws were ever enforced, and were more or less declared unconstitutional in 1995 (in the US), at least as far as open source is concerned. Since then I've never heard of any enforcement attempts.
Every country has had strong encryption since then.2012-02-20 01:27 AM
The restrictions are for real. If you go to a smart card web-shop in EU you can verify that the shop doesn't permit shipments their goods to for example China. So my question is really: Does STM32F215 count as a smart card and thus falls under these agreements?
