Problem Failed firmware Nucleo F411RE

Hi.

On board I found this file: FAIL.TXT - ''The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU''. The leds LD1 and LD3 of COM remain red.

I tried to update firmware with

http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF260217♯

. The update is successful with firmware V2J24M11, however, the LED remains red.

Originally the firmware board is V2J22M5. What happened ? How can I restore the board?

Thank you

Hi nicky,

Try to upgrade firmware version using STM32 ST-LINK Utility: go to ST-LINK>firmware update, Then disconnect and connect your NUCLEO.

Also check the jumper position on the board:

JP1 off,

JP5 (PWR) on U5V,

JP6 on (IDD),

CN2 on (NUCLEO) selected.

let me know about the result

1/press reset button then try to connect under reset,

2/Try to connect with another PC it can be a problem of drivers.

The STM32 ST-LINK Utility is v.3.5.0

Get something that's current.

http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF258168

You could strap BOOT0 High on the chip.

If the chips is non-functional no amount of playing around with the software is going to fix it. Check the voltages on the board, and the VCAP pins of the chip.
