Hi,
We are building an automotive motor controller of continuous power of around 18kW. Now for the selection of switching device we need to assume a steady-state junction temperature. We know junction temperature affects the life and reliability of the device. What is the relation of junction temperature and operating life this? What junction temperature should we take for reliable operation of around 10000 to 20000 hours?

Long time ago someone told me it is arrhenius law related, and normal devices at absolute maximum rating are tested and checked for 1000 hours (typical)
