Hello,
I'm trying to spin a small BLDC motor with the Starter Kit and an external power stage. Per Section 7.8, I removed the W3,W4, & W5 jumpers and made connections to J6. When I hit ''start'' in the AK-ST7FMC control panel, the ''start-up fails'' light turns red. In the control panel, I selected ''other BLDC'' under Motor Type and ''external power board'' in the Power Board Settings. With a scope, I looked at the gate signals on pins 3 & 5 of J6. I don't see gate signals. I also don't see the MCES line pulled low. Is there something else that might cause a fault at startup? Thanks, AJOptions

Hi,
please, could you specify if your driver is sensorless or not? Regards, TanioOptions

Thank you! I've been able to spin a couple of 24V BLDC motors.
I'm still having problems spinning a larger BLDC motor. The controller is having trouble reading the speed for some reason. Is there an application note that goes into detail on the ''voltage mode'' control method. Thanks, AJ [ This message was edited by: AJ on 26-06-2006 21:33 ]Options

Hi,
I think I've fixed the problem. I increased the Z Event Counter Filter to 5 in the Advanced Settings. That made a world of difference. AJ [ This message was edited by: AJ on 26-06-2006 21:18 ]
