I have purchased a STEVAL-3DP001V1, and I'm trying to make it operate. My first question concern the header J22, i.e. the prog connector. My board came without any jumper at all. But according to the board schematic and the F401 user manual, when there is no jumper on J22, BOOT0 is held high, thus the F401 enters system memory on startup. If I power the board with 12V, nothing else being attached, the current consumption goes to approx. 72mA. However I can access the webserver from my phone (not my PC, this would not work), and browse through the pages. But I can't access the files on the SD card.
If I put a jumper on J22, the current consumption goes to approx. 105mA.
What is the correct position for J22 for the normal operating mode ?
Second question: according to the board user manual, one can provide the 5V for the logic by using the ST-Link USB plug. However in my case it does nothing, I can see that the USB 5V is here but it does not generate 3v3 for the ST-Link. From the user manual it is not really clear if the 12V is always needed or not.
