Well, I have a lipoly single cell and ixolar solar cell from iXys (Vmpp = 4.3v) connect to the spv1050.
Buck boost not working correctly, efficiently is worst bad. (I got onlt a fraction of Amp from a direct connection to my battery!)
it is impossible to enable ldo without charge ( and vstore grow more than Veoc) !! this is crazy, so you could use your battery only if you have sun!?
I take time to verrify my design, test boost and busk boost configuration (shematic is same as demo board) I take time to calculate and recalculate all components from datasheet equations, I spent many many many time on it!
(I am electronic designer for more than 25 years)
So ST, where are you ?? nobody answer any questions on this chip ! This is crazy! no support nothing... so perhaps, electronics designer as me, was past behind something, or finally this chip is just a ***** ** ****! (unfortunately I select it in my last design, and this is a disaster!)

I have a similar issue here... No matter how much power is available in the sollar cell, the output from buck-boost converter cannot deliver more than 5 mA. It's very frustrating. If I put some load directly in the sollar cell in the same light conditions, I get over 30 mA. I reviewed my design many times, and can't figure out what could possibly be wrong.
