Hi, We are planning to use L6491D in our application.

We had the following queries:

1.Pins LIN is mentioned as active low.Will the low side PWM output from driver be high when input to LIN pin is low?

2.VCC is mentioned to be between 10-20V.But all input pins(SD,HIN,LIN) are operating at 5V level.Is there any internal generation of 5V?.

   Also should the SD pin be pulled up to an external 5V ?

3.Please share the unused pin recommendation for CP+ and CP- pins.

4.Can the deadtime be controlled by varying RDT?

5.Kindly share the layout guidelines for the ic as well.

Welcome, @HV Ku.1​, to the community!

  1. Please take a look at the truth table in the datasheet, section 3, where you can see that the low side driver LVG is active (H) when /LIN = active (L) and HIN = inactive (L).
  2. The internal 5V are derived from VCC, the input pins can be driven using an input voltage of 2.5V-15V, so they are e.g. CMOS or TTL compatible. Yes, the SD should be pulled high to the input driving voltage, depending on the application e.g. 5V or 15V.
  3. If the comparator is not used, one should set its inputs to inactive, i.e. CP+ = SGND, CP- = + 2.5V...+ 5V (see datasheet, table 6, note 4)
