Can anyone please explain to me how to read this graph? what is the meaning of the symbols used here (triangle, diamond and square) and how to read the equation as IDLIM seems to be cancelling from both sides? This is a figure from the datasheet of VIPER28

Welcome, @SMadd.2, to the community!

The diagram is a little misleading. It represents the dependence of Idlim on the selected Rlim. The formula should therefore be read as: Idlim as a function of Rlim is the factor multiplied by the default value of Idlim (Max Drain Current Limitation, see datasheet, table 9).

The triangles, squares and diamonds represent (in this order) the respective max, typical and min values (tolerance).

Example:

Selecting Rlim=15kohms gives a factor of 79% (max), about 74% (typ) and 69% (min).

If you multiply this factor with Idlim from table 9 (min 0.75A, typ 0.8A, max 0.85A), you get the response threshold.

Does it answer your question?
