Hai,
Could anyone tell me how to configure STPC atlas for onboard RAM chips of 128mbits. (by default it is configured for 64mbits). thanks in advance Balaji2005-11-17 01:10 AM
Hi,
The default configuration is 64 Mbits or 128 Mbits 4 SDRAM 4 banks and it should work for your case. There is no config only for th 128Mbit. You have two possibilities with 128Mbit configuration. Reg 084C6008:00000002;64 Mbits or 128 Mbits 4 SDRAM banks. Reg 084C6008:00000001; 64 Mbits or 128 Mbits 2 SDRAM banks. Regards.2005-11-17 07:55 PM
thanks for your reply,
Actually I want to use a 128 MB DIMM Ram , which has eight 128Mbits chips. Now I donot want to use the onboard 64MB memories, also can i load linux in protected mode with L1(onchip cache) disabled Could you help me with this. hello sir
My aim is to replace the onboard memory of stpc evaluvation kit with DIMM socket. But if i do so, my program executes in shadow region and not outside it. To make a ljmp in protected mode i need the cache or hidden registers (On chip cache register) which have the access details of that region. can you suggest me what i should do to make my cache working. please atleast guide me to any article regarding this thanks in advance Balaji2006-02-17 03:56 AM
Did you loked to the cache register in the Vega programming manual?
Also you can have a look to the bios writer's guide. For the use of DIMM ram and not the onboard chip, if you are using our evaluation board you can select either the DIMM or the soldred chip via jumpers P713, P712, P711 and P710. PLease refer to the evaluation boars user manual for jumper settings. You can download thes documpents from the web site. Regards.
