Hi. Is RTC oscillator mandatory to run STR750? Couldn't it work just with on-chip 5 MHz oscillator? Are there any more differencies for older versions (before 636 date code), except the bootloader absence? Thanks for your answers.

The RTC oscillator can be enabled or disabled. so it is possible to swtich off your RTC if you do'nt use it. regarding the on chip 5Mhz oscillator it is a free running oscillator that provides the system clock when . Also used as an emergency clock source when there is failure. note that after reset the clock system is driven by the Freesosc and then the user have to select one of the other clock source as PLL in order to reach a higher frequency.

The only difference bewteen the old samlpes before 636 date code and the new one is the bootloader availability as descirbed in the ''STR75x SystemMemory boot mode '' application note.

Thanks.
