ST7 is transmiting an unwanted FF !!

After we enable the SPI of the ST7 it is transmitting an FF. Afterwards all is ok, the messages we want are sent correctly. Just this FF is disturbing.

According to our contact person at ST this is a feature and not a BUG. But this FF is really bothering us.

Has anybody a solution how we can rid of it ? (without changing the hardware itself)

Compare your software with available application notes on this site (AN970,972...). Maybe, your initialisation settings are not correct. I've already used SPI and didn't see this FF! Did you follow the exact steps in the right sequence given in the spec depending on your configuration(master tranmitter,receiver or slave transmitter,receiver)?

Maybe also try to change your clock phase and polarity (CPHA,CPOL).
