VL53L1X SPAD orientation to package

CJani.1
Associate II

Please direct me to the document that specifies the orientation of the SPAD to the package. My application requires a short but wide FOV.

The datasheet shows the spad behind a lens just under one of the gold filters. the FoV of 27 degrees depends mostly on the spread of the light from the VCSEL. And that's pretty fixed. We can narrow the FoV - but we do it by "only looking at some of the SPADs". The VCSEL does not change. Changing the VCSEL in any way would mean that you have to revalidate the laser emission with the FDA. And that takes real work.

We recommend NOT changing he VCSEL in any way.

The SPAD array is a 16x16 square array.

The VL53L1X Evaluation kit (P-Nucleo-53L1A1) shows this quite well.

There is no real way to expand the Field of View.

One could of course use multiple sensors. They do not interfere with each other.
