Require info about proximity sensor(VL53L1X) whether it is suitable for outdoor applications ( in sun) or not and suggest any filter in software or hardware for better performance.

To be honest the VL53L1X sensor is not very good in bright sunlight.

It does very well in full shade, but in full sun, the distance is very limited.

The optical element is very sensitive to the tiny bit of 940nm light that is emitted from the part, but in bright sunlight the photon detector is swamped by the photons from the sun.

It works fine in indoor lighting as lightbulbs don't generate very much 940nm light.

Good luck,
