LIS2DTW12 FIFO modifying buffer size in continuous-to-FIFO mode

Hi,

Is it possible to modify the amount of values that are written in the FIFO buffer after a trigger event has occurred in continuous-to-FIFO mode? Currently the device collects values in the FIFO buffer in continuous mode until a trigger event happens after which 32 new values are collected in FIFO and collection is stopped. I would like the device to do the same except only collect 16 new values during FIFO mode, keep 16 values from continuous mode and then stop collection. Is this possible by varying some value or is the buffer wiped when the trigger event occurs?
