ISM330DHCX gyro noise at high shock and vibration

Hi,

I'm using an ISM330DHCX in a couple of boards.

The output looks great on the desk but when subject to high shock and vibration the gyro signal shows a lot of noise (to the point where the rotation value is lost).

Is this just something that happens with this device, or is there a way to mitigate this effect?

Hi @jcslb ,

what kind of noise do you see, and how are you performing vibration tests?
it is normal to see noise in the gyro when moving the sensor in an uncontrolled environment

Example below. The boards are in a drilling tool, when just spinning the signal is fine, but as soon as the tool starts drilling the gyro signal gets swamped by noise. In this example the sensor is experiencing ~+-10g acceleration.

I agree one should expect some increase in the noise, but not to this extent.
