Does the Mems sensor LPS22HBTR require exercising before first use? Our company uses these for detectioopn of objects hitting a membrane and we have come to find out that it appears the mems sensor sometimes needs a puff of air in order to begin working correctly. Is this true, is there some kind of standard first time procedure before using the sensor that I am not aware of?

Hi @jeffgedgaud ,
Welcome to ST Community!
LPS22HB is able to works without any specific "exercise". What has been highlighted seems due the fact that some undesired particles close the holes present over the device. These holes must be left free to avoid to creates wrong measurements. If the problem exists at first power on, this means that the problem could be in soldering (or cleaning) phase where sometimes wet cleaning is used. In LPS22HB, wet soldering (also with flux) and wet cleaning is forbidden to avoid damage of holes.
