I have had problems with optoisolators. STM is planning to release STISO621WTR which is high speed and galvanically isolated to 6kV but no distributor can tell me when it will become available. Does anyone have an information?

I fully understand your concerns and expectations.
The device was released just a few days ago, the production is in the ramp-up phase. On the customer side, however, it usually takes a while before development with this device goes into production.
I think we'll talk about a couple of weeks before it should be visible at your distributor. Just nudge him constantly, as due to its features the demand on the STISO621W is extremely high.

This dual-channel digital isolator (RX and TX) is already released and published.
Please be patient, you can look forward to being able to buy it from your favorite distributor soon.

Hi Peter, I expect that you have designed equipment and have therefore needed to make decisions about parts, evaluate samples, replace components and give status to investors/management. There is actually a cost that comes with being patient. It would help me if I knew how much patience I need to withdraw from the bank... a week, a month, a year? There are other parts that I could choose, but I like this one best. It would be a shame if I need to put another part in the BOM. Two worldwide distributors have no idea when the part will be available, or pricing so they won't accept a backorder.
