Did you mean:

VL53L5CX - can it be used in an outdoor environment? Was hoping that the polarization might help it reject ambient light.

Really no. The laser is coherent, but it's not polarized. To be honest, I don't fully understand, but my laser experts said, "sorry, polarizers won't help". And I guess I take them at their word. Might be because there are really several tiny emitters in each VCSEL chip.

Ranging outdoors is one of the most requested features. And we are working on it. But I cannot tell you when.

Thank you @John E KVAM  and yes, please do let us know when the outdoor's problem is solved - I would buy many more than the lots of 100 I do now.
