Hi,
I was wondering if there were plans to make drivers for the ST BrightSense image sensors available for the ST STM32N6 Series μCs (these could be bare metal, FreeRTOS, ThreadX or Zephyr drivers) or for ST STM32MP2 Series SoMs (in the form of libcamera drivers)?
I heard that drivers for the VD66GY image sensor are planned for the STM32N6 Series μCs but I wasn't sure about the other BrightSense image sensors.
Providing drivers for the ST BrightSense image sensors for the STM32N6 Series μCs and STM32MP2 Series SoCs would allow ST customers to fully leverage the enormous power of both ST image sensors and the leading ISP and AI capabilities of STM32N6 and STM32MP2 while developing a solution entirely within the ST ecosystem. Having drivers provided by ST instead of coding our own drivers would enormously speed route to market and reduce risk.
Thank you very much for your help.
Will

Hello Will,
First of all, Happy New Year,
Today the VD66GY and VD55G1 are released regarding STM32N6 We work to add ASAP the other sensor and provide code example. It is one of the priority.
We work also to provide libcamera + ST driver on STlinux it will be in a second time after STM32N6

Hi @CyrilTechPro ! May I ask where the drivers for VD55G1 for the STM32N6 have been released? I could not find them anywhere.
Thanks a lot,
Michael

Hi @asdfasdf,
You can find all the drivers for the STM32N6 on this page: link.
Please note that not all of our cameras are supported yet, but they will be in the coming months. However, the VD55G1 is currently supported.
Thanks, Megane.

Hi @MeganeG ! Is the driver also available somewhere else in stand-alone form, like the Linux drivers?
Sadly all downloads on the site you linked to do not work, the "Request download" form cannot be submitted, the "Confirm Request" button is dead - see attached screenshot.
Best, Michael

Hi @asdfasdf,
No, we do not have it available in stand-alone form. All the drivers can be found at this link.
It should work normally; we have not encountered any issues on our side. Could you try accessing it on a different machine, disable all adblockers, or try using a different browser?
Let me know if it still doesn't work. If needed, I can share the drivers directly here.
Thanks, Megane.

Dear @MeganeG ! Today, the stars aligned and I was able to download the software packages you mentioned - thank you very much! Looking forward to drivers for the VD55G0 being released, as that's the sensor I'm mostly interested in.
Best regards, Michael
