Why I am thrown out of the forum when logging out ?
Doing so, I land on the bare login screen.
Who came up with that impractical idea ? I have seen this on no other forum.
Being different is only fine if you are better.

Hello @Ozone ,
Thanks for reporting on this. Have you click on "Remember me on this computer" during a log in?
Let me know if this still happens after applying this.
Thanks,
Lina

I have tried this now, for the sake of trying it. But it makes no difference. I basically use the same functionality in my browser (password auto-fill).
Not that I expected it to make a difference - the redirection destination after the logout is a design choice, and one made consciously on ST side. Which is IMHO rather impractical, and thus probably made by a designer who rarely uses such fora at all.
Requirement-conforming behavior and user friendliness are not the same thing.
I don't want to be logged into a site or forum if I don't need to.
Throwing my back to the login window is just a hassle. Getting back to the forum opens another window, which starts with annoying auto-play videos and animations. And where I need to select the community/forum again.
I understand that ST's landing page is not designed by engineers and for engineers. But forcibly routing them across this page is just annoying.

Hello @Ozone ,
I see what you mean now. Yes, ST uses myST account across its' ecosystem and with the same account you can login to the community and st.com itself.
I would like to clarify this:
Throwing my back to the login window is just a hassle. Getting back to the forum opens another window, which starts with annoying auto-play videos and animations. And where I need to select the community/forum again.
I tested it and after I click am I logged out and go back on the browser, I land on the logout webpage of the community. Could you refer what URL are you redirected to? st.com?
Please clarify the action, adding what browser and OS you use, and I will look into it.
Thanks,
Lina

Hi Lina,
I've just tried to sign out and, same as Ozone reports, it redirects to https://my.st.com/cas/login?service=https://my.st.com/
FF102.13.0esr/Win10
JW
PS. Can't your account behave differently due to being an Admin account?

That would be :
https://my.st.com/cas/login?service=https://my.st.com/
OS would be Win10 and Linux Mint 20, both using the Brave browser.
Though I believe the redirection is a "hardcoded" action triggered upon the logout, and neither OS not browser matter in that regard.
I don't understand the need for a redirection in this case at all.
I would expect to remain on this site, only not logged in.
If I'm done, I can always close the browser window.

Hi both, @Ozone , @waclawek.jan ,
Thanks. What I meant is, when you press "Back" on the log out window:
And then it redirects back to the community:
Does it happen for you this way?
In general, as we use myST account for the login, we cannot avoid this initial redirection. But I will consult if this could be more seamless.
