Default 'Insert Link' Target to 'New Page'

If I just post a URL like this:

https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubemx-mcus/create-a-new-stm32-project-correctly-on-2-0-0-and-use-c-for-it/td-p/866184

It is automatically set to open in a "new page".

But using the 'Insert Link' tool defaults to "current page":

This is inconsistent and, I would say, a lot less useful.

Please can the default be changed to "new page":

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.
