STA369BW - hard clip mode

Hi,

How can I configure the ST369 in a clipping mode.

In the datasheet I found the configuration for:

- Anti-clipping mode

- Dynamic range compressing mode.

Does there exists a configuration to switch-off both modes?

Thanks in advance,

Christiaan

Hi Chirstiaan ,

if you did not set the DRC/limit setting in register , then the default register value is for hard clipping ( no more dynamic compress or distortion limit) , means that the output clipping level will be relevant with supply voltage .

but please  pay attention for load impedance ,due to the output current will be increased with low impedance load ,then over current protection may be actived sometime .

thanks

YT

Hi YT,

Thanks for your response.

But can you help me to locate the DRC/limit setting register?

I've tried a number of registers, but never succeed in switching off the limiter functionality?

The limiting function is still active despite following configuration of the amplifier.

- Dynamic range compression/anti-clipping bit set to 0: limiters act in anti-clipping mode.

- Max Power correction bit set to 0: disables power bridge correction for THD reduction.

- AMGC[3:2] DRC/Anti-clipping set to 01

- AMGC[1:0] AC0, stereo anticlipping 0dB limiter set to 00

- C1LS[1:0] set to 0: channel has limiting disabled

- C2LS[1:0] set to 0

- C3LS[1:0] set to 0

Hi Christiaan,

please set AMGC[1:0] bits to  00, user programmable gain. AMGC[3:2] bits to 00.

and all CxLS[1:0] bits  to 00

Thanks ,
