Maximum output current of an OpAmp

Hello,

In datasheet, sometimes maximum output current is indicated (IsourceMin, Typ, Max), sometimes it is missing.

What is the best method to determine if an OpAmp can supply enough current to our load?

Thanks for the support,

Jean

Dear Jean,

In most of datasheets, it is possible to find this information in the figures.

For example, here below there is the figure 6 of the TSV851 datasheet.

It shows the output current vs the output voltage.

Thanks to this figure, you will be able to find the maximum current that the op-amp can sink or source.

Best regards,

Sylvain
