STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

I'm new to STM32 products and have been working with the Nucleo-G474RE. Everything has been working well. Switched over to the new Nucleo-F446ZE and receive this error. Switched back to G474 and every thing works fine. Any idea what is happening and how to resolve. I did a STLink a second time and problem persists.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi !There is an error while building project as shown in the picture below and more error details are like :"Errors occurred during the build.Errors running builder 'CDT Builder' on project 'STM32F072CBU_CDC_STM32_CUBE_IDE'.java.lang.NullPointerException"Looking for possible solution. Thanks in advance regards,VK Verma

STM32CubeIDE making a new project, after I entered my project name and clicked finish button I did not get the Initialization of all peripherals dialog. Instead of this, it directly shows the perspective opening dialog box. Thus, my project starts with all the pins not assigned. It used to appear but now it does not. How do I get it back again? I am a newbie btw.

Hi,I'm building my project inside a Docker container that has STM32CubeIDE installed using the command:headless-build.sh -build demo-nucleo-f334r8 -importAll /appThe project builds fine, and I'm able to successfully flash my board with the generated images. However, when I try to run a debug session on my Host machine (OSX and Windows 10) with the generated .elf file(from the Docker build) I get the following error"Can't find a source file at "/app/Debug/../Core/Src/main.c" "I tried using the -fdebug-prefix-map flag as follows:-fdebug-prefix-map=$(@D)=.to strip away the Docker directory prefix, however this does not seem to be having any effect. Is there a way to use a debug image built inside a docker container with a debug session on the host machine? Note: If I build my project inside a docker container using arm-none-eabi-gcc v9.3.1 and include the -fdebug-prefix-map flag in my Makefile, I'm able to run arm-none-eabi-gbd with the generated .elf image on my host machine and debug as

Hi all,I have a custom board with STM32F767ZIT and an external QSPI flash MT25QL128ABA.My QSPI mapping is :CLK : PB2CS : PB6IO0 : PF8IO1 : PF9IO2 : PF7IO3 : PF6I made my own custom external loader for my QSPI with these ST tutorial :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alzv6qg4lH0&list=PLnMKNibPkDnHIrq5BICcFhLsmJFI_ytvE&index=3https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqCq0xtQmbI&list=PLnMKNibPkDnHIrq5BICcFhLsmJFI_ytvE&index=5 It seems worked perfectly, but I have an offset in my memory Flash. I should have 0x00 at address 0x90000000 and not 0x01.I have the same clock configuration.I don't have the same QSPI memory so I made the modification below :I changed my QSPI configuration (FlashSize = 23)I changed the MEMORY_FLASH_SIZE from 0x4000000 to 0x1000000I tried to modify the writing QSPI function in these example CSP_QSPI_WriteMemory but when I did it the last byte is not written in memory.I just changed "sCommand.Address = current_addr" by "sCommand.Address = current_addr + 1"Does an

Hello,When I try to set the Manual search in the debugger configuration I get always this error:ERROR: Expected an digit (0-9) after option "-JTAGConf".GDB Server will close.Command line error. Please check command line parameters and options.Settings: J link SeggerThe Position and IRPre are both correct. When I use the J-link Commander it works.I tried the 1.10 and 1.4.2 CubeideSomeone has any suggestion?Thank you

Hi,I have a custom board with STM32F767ZIT and a QSPI external memory MT25QL128ABA.My QSPI mapping is :CLK : PB2CS : PB6IO0 : PF8 IO1 : PF9IO2 : PF7IO3 : PF6I find some others subject about it but I failed to create the stldr file : https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X00009vMnTxSAK/how-to-building-a-custom-external-loader-for-a-custom-board-based-on-a-stm32f4-mcuI tried to use the N25Q512A_STM32F769I-EVAL example for external loader with Keil to generate an axf file to change it in stldr file (UM2237) but I have an error when I build it :My project is on STM32CubeIDE and I find where the external loader files are (Debug configuration --> Debugger --> External loader) but I don't know how easily create the stldr file for my custom board.Thank you,Tom,

I’m trying to have a project in eclipse that is in 2 parts, both generated with cube ide.The small part at 0x08000000 is just a boot loader that can load file from SD card. [Mustang 2.2 Boot]The APP part is at 0x08008000 is where the app is that can be flashed. [Mustang 2.2]I followed this guide and had no luck. https://github.com/ethanhuanginst/STM32CubeIDE-Workshop-2019/tree/master/hands-on/09_BOOT-APPThen I followed an official guide that was for Attolic and had no luck either. I think things have changed a bit since then.I can’t even find the right wording in order to search for guides on how to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction. My tree looks like that. And my debug config looks like this.other than that i have changed the addresses in the .Id files and set the vector offset as in the guide. Any help would be appreciated.I should add that it builds and debugs fine as either app. But i want to launch one and follow it into the other. at the moment it just freezes i

STM32F446RExI'm working on a revision of a board that I'm planning on moving four signals that a previous designer choose to put on pins that are needed to add USB capabilities to the design. However, I do not want to maintain two different projects but instead I will use some internal pull ups on unused pins on the previous revision and external pull downs on the same pin on new revision to detect the board revision. My dilemma is that the project is configured quite nicely with the "Device Configuration Tool" and I need to be able to change the configuration on startup based on the board revision. I'm sure I can do this in code manually but I don't want my hand crafted code to fight with the Device Configuration Tool.Does anyone know an elegant way to accomplish this goal? Thanks in advance,Jacob

My name is Kang, and studying demo-kit of NECLEO-IHM001 for motor driver.Firstly I downloaded STM32CubeIDE ver1.3.0 successfully. And then, I deleted it due to some wrong operation of STM32CubeMX.I deleted STM32CubeIDE file on the note-pc screen. Then I downloaded again it and tried to install but filed with a error message."You already have version 1.3.0 of STM32cUBEide installed. Please uninstall this version and then run the installer again"But, I can't find any uninstall command...Pls help me.

Context:Here's an example ITM configuration with port 3 enabled:When tracing is enabled in the STM32CubeIDE "SWV ITM Data Console" (click on red circle to "Start Trace"), the bits in the ITM->TER register are set as expected. In this case, value 8 indicates that port 3 is enabled:Bug:But when tracing is disabled, the bits in the ITM->TER register are set to an unexpected (and annoying) default value of 1. This indicates that port 0 is enabled, which is definitely undesired. This is problematic for common ITM logging code, which checks if the port is enabled before writing to it. void itmSendBuf(const char *buf, size_t len) { // Check that ITM is enabled and port 0 is enabled if ((ITM->TCR & ITM_TCR_ITMENA_Msk) && (ITM->TER & (1 << 0))) { for (uint i = 0; i < len; i++) { ITM_SendChar(buf[i]); } } }The printing loop is always executed, even when the user disables tracing.A workaround is to configure an additional dummy port (port 2 in this case

I deleted the installation folders of the STM32CubeIDE since I was having trouble with the GDB Server and did not find solution online. Now, my problems is trying to re-install the IDE.I get this message:"you already have version 1.4.0 of STM32CUBEIDE. Please uninstall this version and then run the installer again."I already checked the path and the AppData folder. I don't know where to find the lasting files to delete.Thank you for helping.

The Code Editor will not show up. I tried to open differen .c files from different Projects, but the Code Editor won't open.I tried right click->Open WIth-> C/C++ Editor (and Generic Editor) but still notihing. The Outline will show the content. It worked up until yesterday. I tried to open the device configuration within the IDE. It took several minutes to initialize. After that the IDE felt very slow, so I closed it. After reopening, the Editor was missing (even after changing the view back to C/C++)I tried restarting, resetting the view, reinstalling the IDE, but to no avail...I am using the Version 1.4. On Windows 7-64bit

Hi to All,I like to inform you that i am using the STM32F103RC controller and the problem is that when i do the DAC init between any of the peripheral init in STM32CubeIDE inside the main function, than i am getting the hard fault handler as shown below :int main(void){ HAL_Init(); /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_DMA_Init(); MX_RTC_Init(); MX_DAC_Init(); MX_I2C1_Init(); MX_SPI2_Init(); MX_USART1_UART_Init(); MX_USART2_UART_Init(); while(1) { // application level logic }}But when i define the DAC init at the last after initialising all other peripherals than i do not get the hard fault handler as shown below:int main(void){ HAL_Init(); /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_DMA_Init(); MX_RTC_Init(); MX_I2C1_Init(); MX_SPI2_Init(); MX_USART1_UART_Init(); MX_USART2_UART_Init(); MX_DAC_Init(); whi

I just started using STM32CubeIDE, and was able to get a blinking LED and getting some UART communication going in no time with a NUCLEO-L476RG eval board.I am trying to follow the examples in the book "Mastering STM32" by Carmine Noviello, but I am a bit stuck on the ARM Semihosting section. I have tried a couple of things, but I don't know how to get printf() to work for instance in the STM32CubeIDE. Any advice on getting these functions to work so the output is parsed to the UART2 interface would be really appreciated :)

Hello,I am migrating from Arduino to CubeIDE looking to have better IDE and better performance code. Migration was rather challenging but managed to go ahead. Still there is one new issue I have.I created a C++ project using CubeMX but I get this error and others related to classes. Even I create C++ project the main file still has .C extention. To resolve I tried:Change main.c file extension to cppUsed File->New->Convert to C/C++Still the error remains.I expect is a newbie question, I am sorry. Could anyone help? Thanks

Hello, I am using the STM32 Cube IDE.I want to monitor real-time variables through debugging mode. But it doesn't...How use to Real-Time variables??

I have a project made with STM32CubeIDE, created with the new project wizard, for the Nucleo H745ZI board. Everything is working great. Now I have some libraries I want to add that are written in C++.I recognize that the Cube/HAL side of things is all C, I don't have any expectations that there's a magic checkbox that changes all of those subsystems to be C++. I would be perfectly happy if main.c stayed C-based and I had to set up a few extern "C" functions for main.c to call out to.But, so far I have been 100% unable, using IDE version 1.4.2 on macOS, to add a single CPP file to the project and get it to compile and link in.I have hit the "Convert to C++" menu command on the top level project. I then imported a source folder ("cppsrc") from the file system and I can see "foo.cpp" in the project hierarchy.Observations:a) rebuilding the project, foo.cpp is never mentioned in the build log.b) the editor has some feedback blips saying that it can't find the C++ style includes and that ther
