Are there any specific kernel config options to get the console to work on UART4?I feel like I've tried every permutation of build, DT, and loading configuration at this point.I'm working on a custom board with a new 'machine' building on the Distribution packageI have the choosen node in the Device Tree with stdout-path set to the aliases uart4, deubg UART options enabled along with early printf, I tried disabling all display and touchscreen options.The output is correctly directed for u-boot and tf-a.I was able to configure and attach the debugger and the kernel appears to be running.
I have a custom board I made with the STM32MP1 and I seemed to have royally messed up the clock circuit. I have an ASDMB-24.000MHZ-LC-T clock chip generating a square wave clock but HSE_OUT is being pulled high which puts the STM32MP1 into analog-bypass mode. The chip does not seem to be booting to the point where I can access USB or UART DFU mode. UART lines are both low and I would expect the TX line to be high until a start bit is sent. I am assuming this is because the chip is not getting clocked properly. Looking to the experts to tell me if this really is the case or if I am chasing a red herring and it should work OK on analog-bypass with a square wave clock. I have attached a photo of the clock signal, best I have right now but I can get a better one later if it's required. I plan on attempting to perform some board surgery to cut the trace pulling the HSE_OUT high and tie it low but was looking for some input before I go do that. PA13 is low as well which I would expect to be
Hi AllWhen building "Eco system V2.1.0" distribution of Custom Board based on STM32MP151C chip, there is a problem that devicetree symbolic link is not created.Symbolic link of custom board devicetree is not created in "tmp-glibc/work-shared/stm32mp1-fiscal/kernel-source/arch/arm/boot/dts" folder."TF-A" and "U-Boot" also do not create symbolic link of custom board device tree.Due to the above, an error occurs because there is no "xxxxxxx.dtb" file when building with the "bitbake st-image-core" command.Please let me know if there is a way to fix it without manually creating the symbolic link.Thanks and regardsMachilus
Hi, I am currently looking at how to enable a GPIO pin on the M4 with the MP157A-DK1 kit. In the datasheet it is unclear to me how I can assign the gpio pin specifically to one of the two processors (A7 or M4) or is this not necessary?Thanks, Rens
I am super new to this and I need guidance. Does anyone have experience with using Android Studio to build an app and then using Bluetooth or WiFi so the app can connect to a STM32 Eval board? Where would be a good place to start? I have found the "STM32MP1 Distribution Package for Android" page here: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu-ecosystem-v1/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package_for_Android#Development_setup but can someone explain what any of this means?
I am using UART5 on an STM32MP151 to communicate with an external processor. The Cortex-A7 is running Linux and DMA is in use for both receive and transmit. Hardware flow control is also enabled and the transfer rate is 6 Mbps. Currently we are running test code to repeatedly send messages between the processors in both directions simultaneously. During this test, eventually the MP151 will send part of a message, and then the transmission will stop and never complete. I have verified this both by examining what is received on the other processor, as well as by using an oscilloscope. Here is the data that I have about the problem:Hardware flow control is not activating in this scenario, as verified by the oscilloscopeThe DMA transfer is still active. This has been verified by noting that the EN bit of the SCR register is still set and the SNDTR register still has the correct count of the remaining bytes that haven't yet been sent.The serial port is still active. This has been verified b
I have an STM32MP157A-DK1 dev board and I have successfully build and flashed the st-image-core (Distribution-Package) and flashed to sdcard.I want to add ModemManager and NetworkManager to the build. I see that meta-oe layer appears to be included and within meta-oe is a recipes-connectivity which contains ModemManager. How can I enable this in the build?Additionally, I don't see NetworkManager in any layers. Is thare an equivalent functionality within another package?Thank you

Hello,No dev kit is available for STM32MP151x microprocessors, do you know if it is possible to replace the STM32MP157 chip by a STM32MP151 one on the STM32MP157A-DK1 ?I have read that STM32MP1 are pin to pin compatible, but I want to be sure and if someone has already done this, that would be interesting.Thank you in advance.Charles Blanchard

I am working on STM32MP1 DK2 as a Hobby Project, can anyone suggest me a complex project to get to a linux + RTOS based project developement. I want to get an hands on idea on RTOS + Linux project. I saw a video of Zephyr project with Intel which ran linux and RTOS by partitioning SD Card, I would like to work on such a complex project. Please help me with good resources on such projects?
We have a custom board based on the STM32MP157 series, and are trying to get the TF-A boot chain working. We have downloaded and compiled the linux kernel, u-boot, and arm-trusted-firmware for the STLinux ecosystem v2. We can boot to u-boot, and the kernel decompresses and begins running, but it appears that none of the peripheral clocks are accessable (I2C, SPI, SDMMC etc).My question is what part of the boot chain is repsonsible for initilizeing the non-secure rtt clocks? Is it uboot? I don't see any initialization there. I don't think it's the kernel, but please correct me if I am wrong. I see some Cortex M4 code generated by the CubeMX took, is it REQUIRED that the M4 initialize the non-secure rtt clocks?

Hello ST Teams!Question, again! I'd like to know if the image "st-image-core" or "st-image-weston" are compatible with the "read-only-rootfs" from yocto append? (thud or dunfell) Well I've already tried on the st-image-core and bitbake compilation failed, saying something about user-fs.Any hints would be welcome!Have a nice confined day!

Hi, I'm trying to generate secure boot keys using native linux tools. I assumed the secureboot format would be documented, but all I found was links to STM32MP_KeyGen.I can use openssl to generate ECDSA keys, and also get publik keys out. I am at teh point where I can take the private key from STM32MP_KeyGen, and convert it to a public key:openssl ec -in private-key.pem -pubout -out public-key.pemHowever, what I can't figure out is how to get the SHA256 hash of the public key in a way that I can burn in the OTP fuses. openssl hash functions give a different result than the one generated by STM32MP_KeyGen. What is the format that the chip expects?
Hello,I am completely newby on embedded linux stuffs.Can any one tell me how to drive any available LED on the STM32MP157C-Dk2 board by using the linux shell commands.Unfortunatelly i did not find the information on the wiki stm32mcu.Thank you by advance.
Hi all.I want to prevent the contents of "RETRAM" from being erased when I run the firmware with m4 rproc on "OpenSTLinux"."RETRAM" is powered by the battery through the VBAT pin to maintain data.To this end, TF-A was also modified to set and maintain the value of "PWR_CR2_RREN" in the "PWR_CR2" registry.In the "Engineering Mode" where M4 Firmware can be run on its own, "RETRAM" data is well maintained. However, when you boot into "OpenSTLinux" and load the firmware into M4 rproc and debug it, the contents of "RETRAM" are initialized.The following is the contents of the "RETRAM" related ld file.MEMORY{ m_interrupts (RX) : ORIGIN = 0x00000000, LENGTH = 0x00000298 m_retram (RWX) : ORIGIN = 0x00000400, LENGTH = 0x0000FC00 m_text (RX) : ORIGIN = 0x10000000, LENGTH = 0x00030000 m_data (RW) : ORIGIN = 0x10030000, LENGTH = 0x00010000 m_ipc_shm (RW) : ORIGIN = 0x10040000, LENGTH = 0x00008000}SECTIONS{
I have a pair of DK1 boards I just received that I wanted to get working with wifi direct, but neither even can show a wlan0 interface. Hi, I'm trying to make a headless system using the STM32MP153 and I would like to disable all graphical layers in the standard distribution.I'm using openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24 (ECO V2 I believe)I have made my-own distro layer and was able to bitbake st-image-core( have added to my own_distro.conf file:DISTRO_FEATURES_remove = " wayland "DISTRO_FEATURES_remove = " x11 ")Next step is to remove the graphical layers starting with qt5If I do a bitbake-layers show-layers I don't want to find meta-qt5 (or meta-gnome, meta-xfce)Question: how do I do that?BTW I'm using the STM32MP157C evaluation board to get my headless distro up and running.
