I'm planning to use ImGui as framework for creating a GUI application on the MP257 processor.The ImGui is bloat-free e.g it only uses the GPU hardware (OpenGL, Vulkan, etc...) to visulize the graphics such as buttons, menu, labels etc.Will an application like this work smoothly in MP257?
I am working on a custom board with STM32MP133A cpu and Kingston EMMC08G-ML36 EMMC. The board boots fine from the EMMC, however if the board resets due to kernel panic and/or watchdog timeout it fails to boot from EMMC and enters DFU mode (where it hangs indefinitely). It looks like that after unexpected reset EMMC stays in 8-bit bus width and boot-rom fails to load the TF-A. The current workaround is to set bus-width to 1 in both u-boot and linux device trees. Is this boot-rom behavior described somewhere?Is there any way to reliably reset bus-width from 8 to 1 in case of unexpected STM32MP133A reset? Or to get out of DFU mode after some timeout, although in this case bus-width still has to be reset to 1 somehow?
Hello,I’m working with an STM32MP255 and want to access GPIOs from the Cortex-M33 coprocessor (not from the A-core/Linux side). I’m trying to understand the correct workflow and configuration steps so M33 firmware can drive/read GPIO pins. Specifically:1. Are there any reference examples or official documentation showing how to assign GPIO pins to the Cortex-M33 coprocessor (M33 execution context) using device tree and RIFSC configuration on STM32MP255 / STM32MP2 devices?2. Is there a step-by-step for RIFSC/firewall, resource assignment, or device tree overlays that shows how to move ownership of a GPIO from the Linux/A-core domain to the M33?3. I’m using STM32CubeIDE to build the M33 firmware. Under SystemCore → GPIO there is no checkbox to select the Cortex-M33 execution context for a GPIO. Is that expected? If so, how should I configure ownership (is it a device tree / RIFSC setting rather than a CubeIDE option)?
Hello!Please tell me how to create a basic C/C++ BareMetal project in CubeIDE for the A35 core of the STM32MP257F-DK board?When I create a project for STM32MP1 I have a choice to create a "BareMetal" project or a Linux project.Unfortunately, when I create a project for STM32MP257F-DK, I did not find such an opportunity for the A35 core. Only a Linux project.Considering that I need LVDS on the board, I cannot switch to the STM32MP1 series and the Linux boot time does not suit the customer.My CubeIDE Version: 1.18.0Build: 24413_20250227_1633 (UTC)
I'm attempting to modify STM32DDRFW-UTIL to test my DDR on a custom board, but when I try to connect via putty I get a continuous loop of error codes "Unknown command" without ever typing anything into the console. I noticed that the console header seems to be appearing on the input line (see attached photo). I can't figure out if this issue is caused by an incorrect DDR setup on my side or something more on the hardware side (i.e. something I don't know). Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi, I have made a custom board with stm32mp135fand I tried to boot using yocto for stm32mp135f-dk and got an error in the tf-a part(fsbl) because i do not have a pmic in my board,every change that i am doing for the dts file i get an error when i "bitbake tf-a-stm32mp",each time is a different error.Can someone help me with how to change the dts file for it to work?
Hello guys, I am trying to build an SDK for my STM32MP1 project using Yocto (Poky) on Ubuntu 24.04. Custom MP157AAA3 board. SD card formatted with ECO 5.0.0 using the SD tools using the files from the starter package. (including rootfs etc..) . Build the TF-A, OP-TEE (in SYSRAM), U-boot and kernel from the ECO 5.0.0 sources.Kernel generates the messages as below and then feezes. The DT's were generated using CubeMX and customized for the board. It looks like drivers are all waiting on resources to become available, perhaps one single one they all need. Hi ST Team, First of all, I would like to thank you for your support on my previous project based on the STM32MP255D series, which has now successfully moved into production. First of all, I would like to thank you for your support on my previous project based on the STM32MP255D series, which has now successfully moved into production.Currently, I am working on a new project that is entirely focused on Ethernet-based communication. Below is my design requirement and a clarification request:Project RequirementThe system requires three Ethernet interfaces in total:Ethernet 1: Operates in standalone mode (independent network).Ethernet 2 and Ethernet 3: Should function as switch ports, supporting STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) for loop prevention.Network Topology and Data FlowEthernet 1 is used for independent communication (standalone).Ethernet 2 connects to Device A, which is daisy-chained to Device B.The last device (Device B) connects back to Ethernet 3, forming a potential loo
Due to the high cost of RAM. I wonder if ST have plans or other information about which 4GB RAM vendors fits MP25x products?I know that ST have information about other RAM vendors on their wiki. Only one 4GB vendor is mention there.I bought the 4GB RAM MT53E1G32D2FW-046 WT:C (single rank) from here when it cost 20 USD.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009146059053.html but its seems to only having the DDR density to 8bits (2 GB). Perhaps it was only a 2GB or MT53E1G32D2FW-046 WT:B (dual rank)I'm still looking for other RAM vendors that can offer 4GB solutions for the MP25x. Question:Can ST write a criteria what a RAM memory need to have to fit MP25x? Do the RAM need to follow a specific RAM standard? What do I need to know to know if the RAM memory fits the MP25x?
Hello, I am using and stm32mp157c-odyssey SoM with a custom made motherboard, However I am having issues getting the usb port function properly.I am using otg fs. It fails the enumeration in the pc side and gets stuck at L1 sometimes and other errors. I still don't know if it's a hardware or software related issues. I am configuring it as device only. below I will include picture of the usb schematic, the logs, as well as the device tree node. Note : We are not using otg_fs_id it's not connected to anythhing , and vbus comes directly from the PC host to the OTG_vbus pin so no vbus gpio.Using yocto image 6.1 mickledore.&usbotg_hs {compatible = "st,stm32mp15-fsotg", "snps,dwc2";status = "okay";pinctrl-names = "default";pinctrl-0 = <&usbotg_fs_dp_dm_pins_a>;dr_mode = "peripheral";};
Hi everyone,I am encountering an issue while trying to flash OpenSTDroid onto my STM32MP257F-DK board.I downloaded the Starter Package from the official website and used STM32CubeProgrammer for the installation. However, the flashing process consistently fails during the final stages.Could anyone provide the correct flashing procedure or suggest what might be causing this error? Below are the details of my setup:Starter Package Source: STM32MP2DroidSta | Product - STMicroelectronicsSTM32CubeProgrammer Error Screenshot: Thank you in advance for your help!

In my custom FSBL on an STM32MP135AAE3, everything runs great except anytime I try to modify one of the GIC flags it pretty much ignores me completely (when I read it back, my changed bits aren't changed). I'm guessing this is some kind of trust zone or secure state or similar situation.BTW, when I run my FSBL by setting the chip to serial boot and uploading it that way, it runs great, so I know the code is solid.What do I need to change so my FSBL has full privileges? Is there a document that talks about this?
Hi!I wonder how I can bypass"Locking RIF conf for peripheral" inside CubeMX.In this case, op-tee is locking peripheral 34, which is the USART6 console output. Hence, that's the last message.I need to unlock peripheral 34. How can I do that? Hello,A question on STM32CubeMX v6.16.1, when I select OpenAMP in Middleware and Software Packs, I can see configuration options, like COMMUNICATION_MODE, SHM_START_ADDRESS, SHM_SIZE etc, but they are all greyed out and not allowing me to change anything.Is there a way to change these options in STM32CubeMX GUI? (I'm aware that the code generated by CubeMX is cutrrently broken so CubeIDE cannot build this code, and I hope for the fix in the next CubeMX version). Another question - the code in CM33/ folder that is generated by CubeMX, can it be built by the Yocto bitbake, like it does for CA35/ folder?Thanks! Regards,Sergei
Dear ST Community,We are working with the STM32MP257F-EV1 evaluation board and using the Yocto Distribution Package for our software stack.Our intended boot sequence is:Boot starts from the Cortex-M33 core.The M33 firmware is responsible for triggering the boot of the Cortex-A35 core.We would like to confirm:Is this boot flow supported on the STM32MP25x platform?If yes, could you please share the recommended procedure or reference steps to implement this?Any guidance or official documentation links would be greatly appreciated.Thanks and Regards,Ishan
Does the stm32mp157 have an ESV or is there one in progress?
Hello, everyone! I am trying to program files generated by CubeMX(6.15.0) onto the STM32MP257F-DK. 1. Downloaded the FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp257f-dk-optee.tsv in the Starter Package installation folder. 2. When I ran some of the example in the repository using the CubeIDE, I confirmed that they worked normally. (C:\Users\20005\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_MP2_V1.2.0\Projects\STM32MP257F-DK\Applications\FreeRTOS\FreeRTOS_ThreadCreation)3. Created a file using the CubeMX's Board Selector and modifed only a few configurations.4. Why does this Error window appear? I can't find which settings are wrong.5. I got an error (IAC, SERC)Is there a difference between the example in the repository and how to run the file generated by CubeMX?Attached the CubeMX.ioc file.Please help me.
Hello,I'm working with the STM32MP257F-DK using the Yocto Project, and I'm trying to enable I2C in my custom Device Tree.However, I’m facing an issue where the I2C controllers remain stuck because of power-domain pending states.Here is the relevant dmesg output showing the problem:It looks like the D1 power domain never reaches sync_state(), which prevents the I2C drivers from probing correctly.I suspect a configuration issue in the power-domain hierarchy or in my SoC/board Device Tree, but I haven’t found the root cause yet.Could someone help me understand what is missing to properly enable the I2C controllers and bring the D1 power domain out of the pending state?Thanks in advance for your support.
Dear All,I would like to use MYD-LD25X development board, which uses the STM32MP257 I plan to run FreeRTOS on the M33 core and Linux on the A35 cores.Do you know if there are documents that I can follow to run FreeRTOS on M33 core and Linux on the A35 core? Thank you very much.
Hello everybody.On STM32MP2, is it possible to operate only the M33 like a microcontroller, without booting the A35? Also, if only the M33 is operated, can major peripherals such as I2C and Ethernet be controlled from the M33? (I assume that PCIe would be difficult...)
