Hi All,When dealing with RF transmitters, it's common advice to always put a load on a transmitter before turning it on, because running it with no load can break it. I'm curious if that applies to STM32WL microcontrollers as well. If I transmitted a wireless packet and accidentally left the RFO_HP pin disconnected (open termination), will that damage the microcontroller? Or does it have some way of protecting itself? Does damage only occur if you output above a certain power level? I read the errata and learned about the TxClampConfig register. I'm curious if that comes into play at all.
Hello,While using a unit as a receiver module, is the matching network required for the Tx pins as well? Also, since there is no data being transmitted, how should the VFBSD pin (power pin for the RF section) be connected in this case?Regards,Leah
Hi, I have already downloaded STM32CubeWBA V1.1.0, but there are no BLE examples included. Are there any options to get BLE examples - p2p, serial comm,.. for WBA52 now?
Hello,I am using the NUCLEO-WBA55CG board with CubeIDE1.4.0 and the firmware package STM32Cube_FW_WBA_V1.2.0.BLE_p2pServer_ota is running on my NUCLEO board. When I start the OTA update, the firmware is uploaded and completed. But after the upload nothing has changed. The BLE_p2pServer_ota is still running and the MAC address has not increased by 1.
Hello ST experts and everyone,I am a beginner on using the STM32WLE5CC series and need some support. When using the LoRaWAN_FUOTA routine to make a product on the STM32WLE5CCU6 chip solution, DEVEUI, JOINEUI, and APPKEY need to be burned into the chip. However, it seems that KMS is enabled by default, so the last 4KB of nvm in the chip flash does not store the corresponding key value. How can I make an interface for factory production burning?
I have a HAL/Cube based project where I am currently using TIM2 for counting edges, and TIM16 for timing.I am now trying to add more timers but have found that when I enable TIM1 orTIM17, and enable ALL the associated interrupts, that I never get any interrupts for these timers. But interrupts continue just fine for TIM2 and TIM16.
Hello,I am using the NUCLEO-WBA55CG board with CubeIDE1.4.0 and the firmware package STM32Cube_FW_WBA_V1.2.0.When I flash the project BLE_p2pServer_ota, everything seems to be fine at first. But when I scan the BLE devices with the ST BLE Toolbox app, I can't find it.Then I deleted the first two sectors in the flash with CubeProgrammer and uploaded the binary file BLE_p2pServer_ota.bin. Nothing happened. Then I executed another flash process from CubeIDE and suddenly it worked. In this example, do I have to delete certain sectors in the flash before I upload it?
Hello everyone,I'm a fairly experienced STM32 Developer, and I use the STM32 line almost in all of my designs. However, I've encountered an extraordinary problem.I've followed this Application note: AN5290 in my schematic (see attachment). However, I cannot program it via SWD.I've supplied +5V and checked that all +3V3 rails are present and OK.When I try to program it via STLINK-V3 (official, not the clone) it cannot access the MCU and says "No STM32 Target Found".I've connected the MCU USB to my computer and showed that the MCU is in DFU Mode even though BOOT0 is pulled LOW.Another strange thing is that Option bits are assigned strangely.I've uploaded the code in the attachments via USB DFU mode and the Code has worked perfectly. However, I cannot program it again even via SWD or DFU which is very strange behavior. The board consumes around 10mA in DFU or Runs the code in the attachments.Thanks.
The STM32WL5MOC datasheet (DS14084 - Rev 4 Feb 2024) contains the following comment on page 6."To keep an output power > 13 dBm, the TOS presented to the module should be ≤2."Will someone please tell me what TOS stands for. Best regards, Roy Cooley
I am trying to build a custom board with Nucleo L476 , RFM95 (sx1276) and the ICUBE lorawan library. I have build multiple borads, connecting the RFM via jumper cables or on a breakout board. I have tried different antennas but the result is always the same:I have a really bad RSSI/SNR for Uplinks: -115/-5 when the board is close to the gateway, and no signal at all above 3m distance. On the other hand, when i get downlinks on the board, it is with -60/+7.I checked the TX power and it is set to 0 ( max).I also confirmed that it is not the gateway ( other devices work) nor the RFM's. I took them from working boards and when i put them back there they worked perfectly. (Other boards are based on ESP32)Any clue what it might be?
With the introduction of the new STM32WB07 MCUs in the STM32CubeMX software, the BLEMGR Middleware has also been added. Within this Middleware, it is supposed to be possible to programm BLE Low Power (LP) devices. However, there is a lack of documentation and examples on how to work with the code generated by CubeMX for programming LP devices. While I have worked with previous LP devices using examples (e.g., from the STM32WB Navigator App and the specific examples for the STM32WB07CC evaluation board), the situation is different with the CubeMX-generated projects. In past examples, the initialization process involved calling a BLE_STACK_Init() function, which initializes the BLE stack as well as initalizing other components such as the PKA, AES, and NVM Manage. Unfortunately, these functions, are missing when generating code through CubeMX for the WB07CC. I attempted to initialize the BLE stack using the available functions, but consistently encountered a
Hi, I am currently working with the STM32WB Nucleo Boards. I wanted to flash the stm32wb5x_Zigbee_FFD_fw.bin on the Dongle. However, when I start the firmware update, this message appears:Here the firmware upgrade service window:Does anyone know a solution to that issue?Best Regards
Hi, I have started project with NUCLEO-WB55RG, which i planned to use as Zigbee router for my Home Assistant. I have manage to get temperature working, then I wanted to add CO2 value (measured by SDC30 sensor) as next step but i have found out that CO2 cluster is missing from ZCL headers files provided by ST. So my question is: Does ST provide more up-to-date ZCL Cluster library or it is it possible to implement ZCL cluster for CO2 myself? Or there is some other solution? Thanks for any advice.
I am working on a stm32wb15ccu6 and I am not able to detect the ble device in stm toolbox application on mobile phone. I am using example program of P2P Server and just made some changes as disabling LSE and related points. I am getting error as.Will anyone guide me regarding the issue. Like what should be configurations and what am I missing.
I want to create a program on stm32wb55 where the program broadcasts with a 15 byte payload containing the stm mac address, 4 bytes of data & 5 bytes of dataI have successfully done it on ESP32 and it can be scanned by a scanner esp32 broadcasterScan with nrf connectI want to do it on STM32 too, with the BLE_Beacon example program and choose type beacon #define CFG_BEACON_TYPE (CFG_EDDYSTONE_UID_BEACON_TYPE) but I don't understand how.. can you help me to produce the same payload as the one I created on ESP32?BLE_Beacon

We're using the STM32WLE5JC to develop a LoRa-based project. We are looking into testing our sensor in a very specific environment with very specific settings - the TX power and Spreading Factor. Can these two be manually configured? Thanks
Hello , what is maximum data transmission and reception size (buffer size allowed ) using 434Mhz frequency ?? also what is sync word and preamble setting and encoding mechanism used in controller any one know details about this please let me know
In the application BLE_OTA for STM32WB55 NUCLEO 64 board there is no Debug configuration. It is also mentioned in the project's readme.txt file that "Debug configuration of BLE_Ota CubeIDE project is not supported by current BLE_Ota application settings". However, in the "STM32WB Getting Started Series: Part 7, Over-the-Air (OTA)" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRzZOa3jmuM) it looks like there is a version of the BLE_OTA application which supports the debug configuration. Is it possible to get the version of BLE_OTA with debug configuration?
Hello,Is there code example for writing 2 bytes to the permanent memory at runtime, so it will stay there after power off?For any STM32 or better STM32WB55.
I am using an STM32WLE5 board and running the following github code:https://github.com/danak6jq/Seeed-LoRa-E5 I have been searching all morning and cannot seem to find what the clock source (to be exact what file and line of code) is to the sequencer. I am assuming it is like any piece of hardware and should have registers to configure it. I would like to know what the frequency with which it wakes up at and what it's clock source is?? At this point I tend to believe it is the RTC as I cannot find anything in systemclock files that indicate SYSCLK is being used.can someone point me to where this info is? The IRQ handler for SysTick is empty and the RTC looks like it is set for AlarmA (from CubeMX) but RTC Handler seems to call AlarmA calback which is still defined as weak? Appreciate any insight here....ps....added a cubemx pdf print out of settings if that helps. Thanks
MCU: STM32WLLE5JBBOARD: CUSTOM HW IDE: STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.16.1 Description:I am currently working with the STM32WLLE5JB microcontroller and attempting to use the Low-Power UART feature. I generated the initialization code using the STM32CubeMX (ioc) tool. My objective is to transmit messages over UART at a baud rate of 4800 bps using the HAL_UART_Transmit_IT function. However, I am experiencing an issue where no output is received when connecting to the terminal.Observation:When I use the polling-based HAL_UART_Transmit function instead, the message "Hello\n" is transmitted successfully, and I receive the correct output on my terminal. This indicates that the UART is functioning correctly in polling mode, but I cannot achieve successful transmission when using the interrupt mode.Reference Manual:I have consulted the reference manual (RM0461) for the STM32WLE5JB MCU, but I did not find any relevant information regarding peripheral settings or troubleshooting steps that cou
Hello everyone.I am currently trying to implement the application “Phy_802_15_4_Cli” from the STM32Cube repository in Zephyr. We are using a STM32WB55RG. Unlike in the standard application, we use the PLL as SYSCLOCK, the input clock is HSE (32MHz). As CLI (command line interface) we use LPUART. The aim is to use the PC app STM32CubeMonitor-RF with the "Phy_802_15_4_Cli" app on the STM32WB55, which has already worked so far. However, the problem is that in RX mode, as soon as the first 802.15.4 packet is received, the C2DS bit is set in the PWR_EXTSCR register --> “CPU2 is in deepsleep or hold by C2BOOT”. This causes the SW and SWS bits in the RCC_CFGR register to be set from 11 (PLL as system clock) to 10 (HSE as system clock). The output via LPUART then only produces garbage. One way to prevent the low power mode of the C2, e.g. using `SHCI_C2_RADIO_AllowLowPower()` only works with BLE, Thread or Zigbee, but not for the LLD_Tests. Another attempt was to check the SYSCLOCK wit
Hello ST experts, The board I am using is the LoRa-e5 by seeeed studio. https://wiki.seeedstudio.com/LoRa_E5_Dev_Board/The premise is that I am creating a LoRa end node that sends an array of data every 30 minutes and the gateway we use only uses the 2nd sub-band (channels 8-15). The example I'm building off from is from STM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.1.0 with the example application LoRaWAN_End_Node. I have asked Seeed studio for support but they redirected me to here. I have managed to get the example to work where it successfully joins and sends demo packets every 10s.The issue:I noticed that while it attempts to send every 10s, it sends it to channels that our gateway does not use. I found that I can turn on Hybrid_mode in the file lorawan_conf.h to limit the channels to 1-8 but this does not allow my device to join as our gateway is only limited to 8-15. I then found that we can change the channels default mask to properly adjust for channels 8-15 in the file RegionUS915.C
Hi,I tried to flash stm32wb5mm-dk board with cubeProgrammer with image of 900kB. I am getting error message " Sector Erase operation has failed at least for one of the specified existing sectors"These are my settings of memory protection:When I try some options to apply I get this:I tried to change RDP level from 1 to 0 but nothing changed. I also tried with st-utilty but nothing again. In one moment I lost connection between MCU and ST-link(The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU) but I managed to fix it with connecting BOOT0 and VDD. After that I couldn't even read memory:This happens when I try mass erase:I tried with updating st-link firmware, different versions of cubeProgrammer and st-utilty, different cables, additional power supply but still nothing. These are some messages when I try to flash:I am not even able to download image from cubeIDE anymore. After all these attempts, I ordered one more DK, and I Immediately tried to flash board with cubePro
