Posted on August 22, 2016 at 08:16HiI'm trying to use STM32F429 to drive TFT LCD and want to use it without any driver chip directly by the micro pins. As I checked, some pins are missing in 100pin package such as LCD_R0, LCD_G1, LCD_G2, LCD_B0, LCD_B7 pins.Does it mean that I have to use 144 pin package or still there is some way on 100pin ?Thank youBehnam #stm32f429 #lcd #100pin
Posted on August 30, 2016 at 01:18I'm using STM32L073 with LCD glass module. The LCD glass has 27 segments, 1/3 bias.I'm going to blink up to specific pixels(seg10, com3) using the BLINK bits in the LCD_FCR register. In reference manual, Blink mode has 4 selection. 1. Blink disabled2. Blink on SEG[0], COM[0]3. Blink on SEG[0], all COMs4. Blink all SEGS and all COMsIt's seems to only control SEG[0]. Is it possible to control other segment? Thanks. #lcd #blink
Posted on June 20, 2016 at 19:57Hello, I use a STM32F429 Discovery board with an other Display (Newheaven 800x480,7 incheshttp://www.newhavendisplay.com/nhd70800480efatxvctp-p-6912.htmlI use the LTDC controller of the STM32F4 to control the display. The buffer for the display is in the SDRAM and I use multibuffering to avoid flickering. The display is OK, I seen the widget on it but the processor is very slow. Approvimatively 1 seconds to refresh a picture and copy the content from one buffer to the other. I suppose it's come from the access conflict to the SDRAM but I don't how to configure it. Here is my clock configuration: My FMC config is here: Do you knoe how to configure it? Thank in advance. Best regards. #ltdc #stemwin #sdram
Posted on August 20, 2016 at 17:48HelloI have a STM32F429I-Eval boardand a STM32F746 Disco board.I want to use StemWin with the GuiBuilder. On both Boards I use the ''Hello World'' Examples as templates. On the STM32F429I-Eval the Dialog are shown correctly. But when I want to show a dialog on the STM32F746 Disco, the content of the dialog are not shown correctly (see the first Picture below). But the Widgets outside the dialog are shown correctly.Another thing which dont work on the STM32F746 Disco board but works on the STM32F429I-Eval boardis the ''alpa blending'' example from the emWin Manuel (Picture 2 and 3).Maybe someone can help me.Picture 1Picture 2Picture 3 #stemwin #stm32f746-disco

Posted on July 22, 2016 at 11:39Hi,I have been successful in getting a project running on a STM32F746-Nucleo-144 board and now want to add an LCD to it. I bought a 2.4 inch Arduino shield with ili9341 driver and 8 bit parallel connector as it fits neatly onto the Zio connector and because STemWin supports the driver. However, despite many hours trying to understand how to configure LCDConf.h I have become more and more confused. Can anyone give me simple instructions on what needs to be done. I see that the STM32F429-DISCO uses this display so I guess it should be straightforward to port to the STM32F7 boards. Thanks & regardsSimon. #stemwin-ili9341
Posted on June 08, 2014 at 22:51 I am working with the STM32F429I-DISCO board and trying to get a flicker-free display. I am using double buffering to draw into one buffer while displaying the other. When done drawing all elements, I switch buffers. These buffers are in RGB565 and so is LTDC configured. The following function draws an ARGB8888 image with alpha channel onto the current buffer (the one that is not displayed) with blending and color mode conversion: static void gfx_draw_img_argb8888 (gfx_image_t* img, gfx_coord_t* coord) { DMA2D_InitTypeDef DMA2D_InitStruct; DMA2D_FG_InitTypeDef DMA2D_FG_InitStruct; DMA2D_BG_InitTypeDef DMA2D_BG_InitStruct; uint32_t dest_address; uint32_t source_address; uint32_t offset; uint16_t picture_width; uint16_t picture_height; picture_width = img->width; picture_height = img->height; // check for dimensions if (coord->source_w == 0) return ; if (coord->source_h == 0) return ; if (coord->source_x + coord->source_w
Posted on August 11, 2016 at 06:20Hello Everybody, I am using stm32f429 controller. I am using stemwin for graphics. I am using inbuilt LTDC controller for 640x480 16bpp RGB display. My system clock is running at 180MHz and RAM running at 90MHz . I found a big performance gap between displaying Bitmap and Fonts. to display 112x62 8bpp bitmap - 150us time taken to display font in 120x32 area (using GUI_FONT_D24X32 font and 5 digits length of font) - 553us I do understand that for drawing bitmaps ST has provided DMA2D based functions , so it is fast but , aren't there any optimization scope available with stemwin for font displays?? Posted on February 15, 2015 at 20:58Hi.I have Littile problem with Stemwin.I have ported Stemwin on my board(STM32f407). nearly all functions(that i have test up to now) is working well. but when I call GUI_SelectLayer(1), Program locked and go to hard fault. My LCD driver is ST7735 and did not mention about multilayer capability.when i call GUI_SelectLayer(2) or more larger number program did not locked but new layer also did not activate(I set GUI layers to 10).i would be thank you if some body help me.thank you #stemwin-stm32f407

Posted on July 25, 2016 at 17:06I've developed code to drive an SSD1305 graphical LCD controller over an 8 bit parallel bus both via the FSMC & for comparison, bit banged. The FSMC generates 2 chip select pulses, but only puts data on the bus for the first one. I'm using the peripheral libraries on an F407. I've attached the FSMC setup code. I'll attach some scope traces next... Regards Ken #fsmc #scope-traces-f407-lcd-tft #scope-traces-f407-lcd-tft
Posted on July 18, 2016 at 09:49I am using an STM32F2 MCU and currently successfully executing code from external SRAM on FSMC Bank 1, NOR/PSRAM 1.What I would like to do is also use the LCD on Bank 1, NOR/PSRAM 2 while executing from this external SRAM.I have made the assumption that this is not possible simultaneously and would like verification of that?Along these lines anyway, I have specifically placed any module that accesses the FSMC for the LCD into internal SRAM so that it is not executing instructions over the FSMC while trying to access the LCD but this hasn't worked.I know the LCD works because the same code running exclusively from internal SRAM works OK.Any thoughts? #lcd #stm32f2 #fsmc
Posted on July 13, 2016 at 01:08Hello everyone,I want to use a 1280x120 display (16bit parallel RGB interface) with a STM32F469.The datasheet says that it can only support a maximum resolution of 1024x768.The horizontal resolution of my display is a bit higher, but my total bandwith schould be much less, because the vertical resolution is so low.Is it possible somehow? Thanks for your help,Moritz #stm32 #lcd #tft #stm32f469

Posted on June 10, 2016 at 15:27 I'm trying to loading the LCD_35T example on an STM32F4 Discovery connected to a 320x240 TFT LCD with the SSD2119 driver (connected like in the expansion board). What I get is that I'm not able to write on all the pixels of the display. I suppose it is a problem of register initialization: LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_SLEEP_MODE_1_REG, 0x0001); // Set initial power parameters. LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_PWR_CTRL_5_REG, 0x002B); LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_VCOM_OTP_1_REG, 0x0006); // Start the oscillator. LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_OSC_START_REG, 0x0001); // Set pixel format and basic display orientation (scanning direction). LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_OUTPUT_CTRL_REG, 0x72EF); //72-30EF LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_LCD_DRIVE_AC_CTRL_REG, 0x0600); // Exit sleep mode. LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_SLEEP_MODE_1_REG, 0x0000); _delay_(5); // Configure pixel color format and MCU interface parameters. LCD_WriteReg(SSD2119_ENTRY_MODE_REG, ENTRY_MODE_DEFAULT); // Set analog parameters
Posted on June 06, 2016 at 17:51I have the STM32F746 Discovery board and I have my project working with the OV9655 camera (which outputs RGB565). I am trying to switch over to use the MT9V034 camera chip from Aptina/OnSemi, which outputs 8bit grayscale (really, it outputs 10bit, but I'm only using the top 8 bits). My problem can be replicated without a camera by initializing test pattern data into the camera buffer (in my project it's 0xC0260000 to 0xC027FE00). I'm filling with 0x00FF00FF (4 pixels, alternating black, white, black, white). I have selected CM_L8 as the input color and CM_ARGB8888 as the output color. My understanding is that L8 is 8-bit Luminance, meaning grayscale, so the conversion should basically copy the grayscale value into the R, G, and B portions of the new ARGB value and Im forcing the Alpha to be FF, but heres what I get: Input: 0x00FF00FF (4 pixels) Expected Out: 0x000000FF 0xFFFFFFFF 0x000000FF 0xFFFFFFFF (4 pixels) Actual Output: 0x64F356FF 0x426333FF 0x

I am trying to switch over to use the MT9V034 camera chip from Aptina/OnSemi, which outputs 8bit grayscale (really, it outputs 10bit, but I'm only using the top 8 bits). The DCMI uses the DMA to copy the incoming pixels from the camera to the camera buffer, but it isnt synchronized with the FrameValid signal. In other words, the test pattern from the camera can be seen in the camera buffer, but it is scrolling and maybe skewed. I did some calculations with the oscope to verify that Im receiving the correct number of lines (272) and pixels per line (480), and the data is showing up in the correct memory region (camera buffer); its just not consistent from frame to frame. My understanding is that the DCMI should control the DMA synchronization based on hardware (Hsync and Vsync, and PixClk). I have checked all the signal polarities. DMA is c
Posted on March 11, 2016 at 10:49Hi, I'm trying to use an STM32F4 to render images on a display using DMA2D. I'm fairly new to graphics and blending so I would appreciate some input. Say I'm trying to display two 100x100 squares, one red at 0,0 and one blue at 50,0. Both squares are encoded in ARGB8888 form with alpha channel values of 0x7F throughout. If I do this without any sort of blending and layering, I'll get one red rectangle that is from 0,0 to 49,0 and one blue square from 50,0 to 149,0. My question here is... if I want the middle bit to be purple, do those two squares have to be on separate layers? This has worked for me mostly; I can put images on different layers and the alpha channel on the foreground correctly shows/blurs/hides the background as needed. But if I wanted to put two images on the same layer, blend them AND show the background... is there any way to do it using the DMA2D engine? I know I can blend two pixels in software using a slightly complex formula but
Posted on March 22, 2016 at 15:40I'm using DMA2D to draw images on the display. I'm using two layers and both of them will eventually be animated. But at this time I'm trying to move just one object on one layer around the screen, but the entire display flickers each time the object is redrawn. What are the sources of flicker on displays, on what could I potentially be doing wrong? #dma2d #display
Posted on May 04, 2016 at 11:06Hello everybody, I am trying to understand how the LTDC and DMA2D are working together. I have a small custom made STM32F7 board with a 24-Bit RGB TFT panel connected to the LTDC. With CubeMX I activated this interface and also the DMA2D. Now after my initialization I don't know how to set a pixel or draw a line or something else... I want to use the GUI library and for that one I have to create a function which only set one pixel. Can anyone help me, bit confusing all the DMA and LCD interface. Thanks! #dma2d #ltdc #stm32f7 #dma
Posted on March 31, 2016 at 11:16I need to use STM32F4 to control a LCD with RA8835 controller on it. By the document given with STemWin, I need to call GUIDRV_SLin_SetS1D13700(). But in ARM MDK, it always throw error ''Error: L6218E: Undefined symbol GUIDRV_SLin_SetS1D13700 (referred from lcdconf.o).'' I don't know why. It seems ST has compiled the lib without GUIDRV_SLin support. Did ST missed it or there are other reasons? Thanks. #stemwin
Posted on April 27, 2016 at 11:46I downloaded stm32cubef4.zip and tried to build a STemWin test application from the emWin files included. The builder complained something about C:\Users\bennacef\Desktop\SVN\STM32_emWin_Library. What is this bennacef user. Also the size of the application was too big for RAM, 1 917 692 bytes. The library 528 is almost 4x the 522, there must be a lot of new features, or. How can I build this example? I am using System workbench. #stemwin #stm32f429discovery
Posted on April 26, 2016 at 21:56I am trying to create an STemWin application for STM32F429 discovery. I have an old application, handmade from some old CubeMX. It is working fine. Now I created a new basic project with CubeMX 4.14, I only selected Discovery STM32F429 and defined clocks. I imported it to System workbench and build, all ok. Then I copied the emWin files from the old project. When trying to build, I got a lot errors. Most concerned unknown references to HAL_StatusTypeDef and HAL_LockTypeDef. In stm32f4xx_hal_conf.h all was ok. Did not help, eventhough I included stm32f4xx_hal_conf.h directly to the file concerning. The only way I could build the project was to make a new file and put those definitons there. Now I could build, but the application hangs in GUI_Init, in Default_Handler. I copied all code from the beginning to GUI_Init from the old project, but no help, it never reached LCD_LL_Init.&nbs
Posted on April 22, 2016 at 20:26Hello!I'm trying to use the peripheral LTDC to move the layer.I'm loading an image 1024x768 at address 0xD0000000 SDRAM.I need to move the display layer that has the resolution of 240x320, it is necessary to make a scroll effect .... however, I am unable to do this effect ... the examples of cube repository only show how to move a small image on a screen with higher resolution and I need to do the exact opposite ...I tried to follow the tip of the slides 38 and 41 of a presentation of the ST, I found the link: http://www.compel.ru/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/1_LTDC_ChromeART.pdfPlease look at the attachment! Please, I need a lot of it ... I'm desperate ... I'm trying to do this for several days and I'm not getting ....Please help me!!!!I am using the ''HAL'' library STM32Cube in KIT STM32F429-DISCO. #ltdc-dma2d
Posted on April 06, 2016 at 10:47Hi Folks,I have interfaced OVM7692 CMOS camera with stm32f4xx MCU using DCMI interface. After capturing image i am taking data into RAM buffer and i have printed those data into UART console and hence i have got the hex values of those images. Now from uart I have taken them into .txt format (sample is attached here.)Now my query is after getting these data into PC how can i convert them into human visible image ?Is there any PC software available or any one have done it before ?Can I do it with python ? if so how can i proceed ?Is there any other way ?OVM7692 has RAW 8-bit, RGB565, QCIF 176x144 (60 fps) features. Please suggest me here, also let me know if i can provide any more details on the same.Any help on this would be great appreciable. Thanks & Regards,Rutvij. #pc #software #dcmi #ovm7692
