Posted on May 29, 2018 at 13:46Hello to everyone!Recently I was faced with a problem using GUI_GIF_Draw() function. That function works properly with a graphical memory assigned to internal RAM using GUI_ALLOC_AssignMemory() and fails if memory assigned to SDRAM. My chip is STM32F777ZI. SDRAM is MT48LC32M16A2.My old thread:https://community.st.com/0D50X00009XkWIZSA3 I suggest my problem is that MPU not properly configured for SDRAM regions. In LTDC manual (AN4861) there is a chapter with special recommendations for Cortex-M7 at page 81. This chapter containing an information about MPU regions configuration. I created following regions:Region0: defines the whole SDRAM memory (64 MByte in my case);(graphical memory (aMemory) assigned to STemWin using GUI_ALLOC_AssignMemory() (&sharpdefine GUI_NUMBYTES 0x2000000) and allocated at lower 32 Mbyte of SDRAM. It has a start address 0xC000000 as SDRAM connected through FMC Bank1); Region1: defines the framebuffer memory (&sh

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 22:28So, we are developing a camera-to-display interface STM32f769. Our EE has created an FPGA which is wired in to our STM32F7, giving us good VSYNC, HSYNC, DATA, and CLK pulses (verified by Salae). We have configured our DCMI peripheral (via the BSP functions BSP_CAMERA_Init, BSP_ContinuousStart, etc) to read in this data, configured our DMA2D peripheral to convert the incoming data from RGB565 to ARGB8888 , and then the output of the DMA2D is picked up by our DSI peripheral, which is driving our own little custom display.Lots of links in this chain, but we were ecstatic to get it all working pretty quickly. Then we realized that when we increased the clock speed of the FPGA input to our DCMI from 20Khz to 30khz, we would hang after one frame. What was happening is that we would receive an IT_OVR interrupt ('indicates the overrun of data reception' -- not much info available) fro the DCMI peripheral, which causes the BSP functions to

Posted on May 10, 2018 at 15:56Hello!I try to realize DCMI interface with DMA based on STM32H7 kit, and read two manuals such as AN5020(page 45) and RM0433(page 638) . I suppose I have found some error. On the screen we can see different DMAMUX1 request. What kind of request should I use?Thx!#dcmi #dcmi-dma #dmamux #stm32h7

I considered example on F7 series and also tried set up settings. Of course,I read manual AN5020. Why this board has interface, but hasn't examples how do it?Thx!#dcmi #stm32h7 #dma-dcmi
Posted on May 16, 2018 at 16:49Hello!I am trying to integrate STemWin graphic library into my project for STM32F7 discovery board, and cannot compile/link it correctly. After writing (copying) a simple hello world example and including all necessary files and paths- i get following errors:<path-to-toolchain>/arm-none-eabi/bin/ld: error: <path-to-cubePackage>/Middlewares/ST/STemWin/Lib/libSTemWin540_CM7_GCC_ARGB.a(FComic24B_ASCII.o) uses VFP register arguments, <build-path>/firmware.elf does notReferiing to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9753749/arm-compilation-error-vfp-registered-used-by-executable-not-object-file it has something to do with compilation / linking flags and floating point unit. Since the library comes in prebuilt binary form, how can I know which compilation/linking flags to add to my program?Where should I look, to figure out how STemWin library (part of stm32cubeF7 package) is compiled?I am not using an OS, just stm32cube (HAL drivers / BSP). Posted on November 16, 2017 at 09:29I'm trying to setup some gui windows using STemWin. It would be very helpful if I could compile some simulations to run on a PC (I suppose Windows, Linux is out of the question?). I have seen that in the STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.17.0/Middlewares/ST/ST/STemWin/Simulation/ directory there are GUISim.lib, SimulationMinGW.res and WinMain.c files, but I have not found documentation on how I should use them (note that I don't know Windows as well as I know Linux). The STemWin Reference Manual has a chapter on simulation but does not mention these files.Where can I find a step-by-step guide to compile an STemWin simulation running on PC?Where can I find some example that I can start from? Where can I find examples for both MSVC++ and MINGW (I suppose that MINGW is supported given the name of the foo file SimulationMinGW.res) best regards Max#stemwin #stm32f4 #simulation #mingw

How to setup and the files to be changed in order to store the static data (images) in the QSPI memory, how to use/setup the SDRAM 2. How to setup LCDConf, GUIConf, flash icf and any other file in order to have the best emWin performance on this board 3. How to setup STemWin to work without OS 4. How to use the GUI with peripherals present on the board Example files or even better, a starter template, will help many of us. I know that on the forum examples are provided, but they are scatter and hard to follow. Thank you, IonHello ST team, I kindly ask your support on the following: 1. Posted on April 02, 2018 at 11:28Hello,i am trying to configure my the CubeMX for my STM32F429I Disc 1 board to show the default hello world sample, which is generated from the Cube. I have try very much an have read the example in the firmeware packegs (1.19.0). I have attached the .ioc file.In the moment i get only a quarter white image on the display (see attached image). I want to attached the complete project, but the size is bigger than 50MB so i can only descripe what i have done after the generation of the project.I have copied the files like in the video and with the BSD it works correctly ( i have comment out the GRAPHICS_XXX lines).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_TVAudWabI But when i will use the GRAPHICS_XXX nothing will work correctly.I have tryied to compare the settings from the Example (STM32F429I_DISO_MB1075), which works correctly.I have no glue, what i have do wrong. Can someone help me with the problem?Best Regards Stefan#stm32-stm32cube

Posted on April 03, 2018 at 07:35Hi i have a custom board based on stm32f769. i have interfaced orient 7inch lCD 800*480 in RGB mode. i could successfully configure the LTDC and external SDRAM (FMC based 32MB) and tried out displaying static image using layer 0. now i would like to port STEMWIN lib for my LCD and try out examples based on that. LCD has HI8264+HI8664 driver. based on the STEMWIN starting guide i configured the GUIConf.c and LCDConf.c and used GUIDRV_LIN_24 with GUICC_M888 but no luck.i have added necessary lib for Keil as well as the STEMWIN lib components.can anybody please suggest whether LIN driver is compatible for HI8264 / HI8664?#lcd-interfacing

Posted on April 07, 2018 at 08:19 Hello, So I am using a STM32L100C-DISCO to display some numbers on an LCD display, I am using the LSI as the clock source. My program works fine for a couple of hours, but if I de-power then power-on the board, the LCD booster circuit does not turn on. I thought this might be a board malfunction because of me blowing it up, but everything else works. I then bought another of the exact same board and tried it. Does the exact same thing as the first board. But now if I leave the first board unplugged for a couple of hours the LCD booster circuit on the that powers on, and my program works fine. I tried this with the second board but with it still plugged into the LCD but with no power, and the booster circuit wont start up. I have no explanation for this. I am using AC6 with the latest firmware. thanks #lcd #stm32l1 Note: this post was migrated and contained many threaded conversations, some content may be missing.
Posted on March 27, 2018 at 16:21Hi there folks!I just wanted to know if it is possible to use the STM32F429I-DISC1 to test different external displays. The appropriate pins are provided via P1 and P2 but as far as I have understood the schematics the integrated display is allways connected with the MCU and there is no chance to disconnect that display or power it off.I hope I am wrong best regardsBenjamin#stm32f429i-disc1 #external-display #lcd

Posted on September 20, 2017 at 14:39Hello! I've encountered a very strange bug with STM32F7 (767 and 746) LTDC. It seems, that FPU operations sometime cause LTDC flickering (sync miss or something). It rather difficult to debug this issue because the display flickers ocasionally and flickrs become rather rare under debuger step-by-step run. I've checked all interrupts and their priorities - everything is OK. Moreover, LTDC itself doen's use the interrupt. It just reads data from SDRAM and generates the scanning. In normal circumstancec it works absolutely clear. But I've found the reason of the glitches for STM32F746. It is a double to float conversion function. But it happens not all the time. When I turned all ariphmetics to floats (added 'f' after all float constants, use sinf, cosf and other __f funtions) the flickering was gone. Now I have the same issue on 767 (with double precision FPU). And here I can't solve the problem with just a single precision compilation.I use
Posted on March 28, 2018 at 19:01I'm trying to interface an STM32F769 with a 4.3' 480 x 272 TFT LCD via a parallel 16 bit RGB interface. Some of these TFTs have built in controllers/drivers, like an OTA5180A, HX8227, or a SSD1289, while other 'dumb' TFTs have no built in controller/driver. I'm trying to figure out if I can use a display without any built in controller/driver. I've read the AN4861 app note, but I'm still a bit confused... I think I may be getting driver and controller mixed up. The LTDC peripheral is just a controller, and a TFT with a built in driver is still necessary? Will the built in LTDC peripheral of the STM32F769 be enough to interface with a TFT LCD that has no built in driver/controller? Thanks for your help.#rgb #tft-lcd #stm32f769
Posted on March 21, 2018 at 20:20 Hi, I've been working on a UI for past couple weeks, I've successfully created functionality for drawing bitmaps (with or without alpha), anti-aliased fonts and solid rectangles / lines using Chrom-ART / DMA2D I am however currently unsure how to do rectangle fills with transparency. I assumed that DMA2D_R2M would accept a ARGB color and layer configurations, however that was not the case. Can someone explain in rough lines how I can fill a rectangle, that contains an alpha channel, over an existing drawn area?
