Use cubemx to generate touchgfx, open vs file compilation, error occurs
Hello,I am making an application using Stm32f429 disco board and my question is:Do you have any solutions for low power consumption, for example, could I change brightness or turn off backlight in the running application?Thank you,Anton
In one of the articles "Using other IDEs with TouchGFX", an article (Generating assets from within IAR and Keil) is referenced but none of the links to this article are working. I am very new to touch gfx and so getting the information from this article would be a very big help to my project.
We are planning to use STM32F7x9 to drive a 1280x800 TFT LCD panel via MIPI-DSI interface. But according to the datasheet, seems it only support up to 1280x720 or 720p resolution. Can it support 1280x800 resolution? We also need to support at least 18bit color, with RGB666 format I supposed. Also would like to have an idea how many fps it can support.
I am attempting to implement a system which uses a 5MP camera to take photos using DCMI and save them to an SD card via SDIO. When reading through the documentation there where a few things I was unclear of. I know between the SDIO interface and the DCMI interface I will need to implement a DMA buffer for the image data, however as the images I am taking are very large, they greatly exceed the MCUs on board memory. I was wondering if the buffer needs to be capable of storing the full image or if a smaller buffer of 64-128 kB would work. If the buffer does need to hold the entire image would I be able to expand the available memory using QSPI flash and use that for the buffer. If there is another way to do this that works better I am open to suggestions. Thanks!
I am prototyping on the STM32F746G-DISCO board but I have a problem with the DMA2D.I have used this micro on previous projects and even the DMA2D without issue, but this is the first time I have tried RGB888 to ARGB8888 pixel conversion. If I use ARGB to ARGB, both in Memory to Memory (M2M) mode and M2M with conversion (PFC), it works fine. But if I set the foreground format to RGB888, the conversion produces bad data.So for a 69x69 pixel RGB888 input image located in QSPI running in memory mapped mode, writing to an SDRAM buffer, I have the following (example) code:while ( DMA2D->CR & DMA2D_CR_START ) { // wait for DMA2D complete } // setup the registers DMA2D->CR = 1UL << 16; // M2M with PFC // address of the input (QSPI) DMA2D->FGMAR = 0x90000000; // Override the alpha (although unnecessary) and set the format to RGB888 DMA2D->FGPFCCR = 0xFF010001; DMA2D->FGOR = 0; // no need to skip any pixels in the source // output address - SDRAM buffer DMA2D->
I am newbie on stm32 and i have not done much more things on it. So i am unable to use LCD. Please help me Thank you
How to change the display backlight intensity in stm32f429I-EVAL board based on the user inputs through slider from GUI.
Hi, I was looking at a couple of parallel input TMDS transmitters that support pixel clock up to 160Mhz, so I was wondering if it is possible to generate some data and output it to an HDTV with STM32F4 ? These chips support parallel 24 bit input so I was thinking of trying a relatively low res, say 480p. These chips expect clock input and proper blanking/HSYNC/VSYNC signals that can be as short as 20ns or less so I am not sure if that accuracy can be achieved with a STM32F4? Also the SYNC signals have to be within a certain front porch / back porch interval withing the blanking pulse and I don't know if that is even practical to try to do that programmaticaly? Basically to clock each pixel in in a loop, I'd have to set values on 24 pins(!), then latch it on the next clock signal (how do I synchronize clock with changing my data?) then when the entire line is clocked in, enable blanking and within a few ns trigger HSYNC by holding it low (or high) for a few ns then disable blanking. Sou
We are using STM32F769I eval board for storing the image to USB using the example "Camera_To_USBDisk" , when we are trying to convert the image format from BMP to JPEG . The image does not open . We are following the JPEG frame format for conversion . Could you share any examples of bmp to jpeg conversion .RegardsShraavan NNV
Hi there,I understand the MVP architecture and I like it. However I'm not sure where to implement event handling that shall be always active. E.g. an alarm event occurs and regardless the current screen, the application shall switch to a specific alarm screen. Shall I implement a super presenter and derive from it? Or call a general presenter from all other presenters if they couldn't handle the incoming event? This call could be forgotten...Thanks for any hint!

I'm just getting back into this after taking a 2 year break. I vaguely remember you could scaffold new projects from the command line rather than using the Designer application. I couldn't find any docs on this, is it still possible to do or am I completely mistaken?
My design is based on the STM32F767, which does not have the DSI interface. From what I can tell, it seems as though TouchGFX is DSI only. Is there a way to get TouchGFX running on a 24bit parallel display using the LTDC peripheral?
I am relatively new to this so I may be missing something. But I just recently downloaded the TouchGfxDesigner and discovered that it does not export projects which can be used in TrueStudio (our preferred tool for development). When I tried importing the projects I always ran into some issue which broke the build.I would be much happier if the tool exported the project for TrueStudio which could be built without having to jiggle the code to get it to build. STM32CubeMX exports projects which can be loaded in TrueStudio and I have been using this combination to develop for some of the lower-end STM32 systems (STM32f4xx) but now am trying to get TouchGfx running on STM32f746 & STM32f796.If anyone reading this has any good suggestions about how to move forward with TrueStudio I would appreciate your support. We are evaluating the other major commercial IDE's (IAR and Keil MDK-ARM) but have not committed to either.Thank you,Michael UmanSr. Software EngineerWunder-Bar
I use a scroll list dinamic. When i set itemSelectedCallback the itemIndex don't reach maximun element. For example:sl_select.setNumberOfItems(4); sl_select.setWindowSize(4);where max number of object can be 4, param of itemSelectedCallback pass only 0 for itemIndex.Other example is:sl_select.setNumberOfItems(13); sl_select.setWindowSize(5);where max number of object can be 13, max param of itemSelectedCallback pass is 9 for itemIndex. What do it wrong?
Hi, I'm trying to port code from STM32F7 series controller to STM32H7 controller. The code is working fine with STm32F7 (TouchFX + FreeRTOS). But in STM32H7 i am getting LTDC AHB Bus transfer error. I'm running only GUI Task and initialized the required peripherals like LTDC, FMC. Also Using HAL, Instrumentation, and DMA files generated by touchgfx designer for H750 board. My problem is task is running once and suddenly it get locked into LTDC_ER_IRQHandler. I have verified LTDC and FMC and it is working properly without using touchgfx.
hi everyone,I am working on my own development poject. My hardware isA) Microcontroller STM32F469 (configured without SDRAM)https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-microprocessors/stm32f469-479.htmlB) Display AMOLED (OSD012A2723-73TS) https://www.osddisplays.com/AMOLED.phpI'm tring to work with STM32CUBEMX / TouchGFX / KeilI have tested two development boards successfully1)STM32L4R9-discovery (same amoled display)https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/32l4r9idiscovery.html2)STMF469-discovery (same microcontroller)https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/32f469idiscovery.htmlwithA) TouchGFx/Visual Studio B) STM32CubeMX/Keil/BSPBut I couldn't do a test with the 3 softwares togheter(STM32CUBEMX/TouchGFX/Keil).After reading a lot in this forum and on the web, I have some questions:1)Is there any solution similar to the following for the STM32F469-discovery or STM32L4R9-discovery development board?https://touchgfx.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019884752-Configuring-STM32F746G
I have to interface my STM32F401RE with an OV7670 camera module without external AL422. My aim is to be able to capture an image on request, so I tried to adapt the code structure used for one of the many Arduino tutorial to my board and HAL library but the results are quite frustrating because all I could get are messy noisy images, like theseAt the moment what my code does is taking an image and send it via UART where a Java application is listening the COM port and shows the image. Some more details:I'm sure about the Java code correctness because if I send an image made of a single color it is perfectly shown;I set the camera using QQVGA resolution and YUV color mode, the register values are the same that can be found surfing a bit on the net;I tried both sending the image in stream, as in the first picture, and saving it in SRAM and then sending, second picture (there is a quite notable difference because the second case seems largely pure noise); At the moment the camera is fed wi
Hi, I want to create a stemwin project on stm32h7 but I do not know exactly how to do it. I would like to do this with cubemx. Of course, I know I can not use the graphics option in cubemx. Please help me.
Hi, I am trying to create a project in CubeMX for the TrueStudio but i can not connect the round LCD(MB1314). I am using the STM32L4R9I-EvalI already tried to use the application examples present in the Repository but I only connect to an image through DSI, but with STemWin the screen never turns on.I need help with some example or if possible with the *.ioc file.Thanks.
Hello,i tried to get the STM32F446ZE and the STemWin Library running in a Keil Project. The used OS is emOS from Segger.I tried to follow you instructions to display "hello world" on the display.I use the display driver ST7735S which should be supported by the FlexColor driver. My problem is that instead of "hello world" the display stays white.I configured GUIConf.h like that #define GUI_NUMBYTES 0x8000In GUI_x I added the following in GUI_X_init() :void GUI_X_Init(void) { UC_ST7735_init(); USInt current = Sopas_usiGet_IOLink14360ST7735DisplayBacklightCurrent(); LITA_setDisplayCurrent((uint8_t)current); }In UC_ST7735_init() the SPI-Port gets intiated. This part should work because it ist already used in the same sensor type. The only difference is, that I removed the graphcis library we used before. The addition lines activate the display and it's backlight. In LCDConf_FlexColor_Template.c I set the resolution like this:#define XSIZE_PHYS
hello, i have an issue on update a vaiable textArea on a Modal Window (pop up..), the background images is ok but the text field stays empty after text buffer update & invalidate..the "funny" thing is that the .getTextWidth() on the widget returns 0 after update so it looks like it does not render the string..i'm wondering if i put the right typography attached correctly, where i've put all the needed "wildcard" ranges, 0-9,a-z, special characters and fallback.i suppose i do not understand/maste exactly the variable text machinery on the background, really..anway here some snippets on the gory details. provided that "TypedText()" are rendered ok..init on object istantiation:textCnt.setXY(10, 10); textCnt.setColor(touchgfx::Color::getColorFrom24BitRGB(200, 0, 0)); textCnt.setLinespacing(0); //touchgfx::Unicode::snprintf(textCntBuffer, TEXT_SIZE, "%s", touchgfx::TypedText(T_SINGLEUSEID11).getText()); textCnt.setWildcard(textCntBuffer); textCnt.resizeToCurrentText(); add(textCnt);and
I created a new project with STM32CubeIDE (v1.00 or v1.01) choosing an STM32469I-EVAL or STM32479I-EVAL board, but the Device Configurator creates an empty ioc file. They are a weel known evaluation boards, so I expect that ST can provide a valid *.ioc file with TouchGFX enabled.
Posted on August 07, 2017 at 11:54Hello everyone,I am attempting to relocate the frame buffer of the 'STemWin_HelloWorld' supplied with the STM32F429 Discovery kit. I would like to use the internal SRAM instead of the external SDRAM. Our project only requires 240x320 8 BPP so the SDRAM is not required. Has anyone any experience with how to do this?My steps so far are based on the demo code at C:\STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.16.0\Projects\STM32F429I-Discovery\Applications\STemWin\STemWin_HelloWorld. I am running the example code on the actual Discovery kit.I changed the &sharpdefine LCD_LAYER0_FRAME_BUFFER in LCDConf_stm32f429i_disco_MB1075.c to the address of the 112KB SRAM which is 0x2000 0000 (page 85 of en.DM00071990.pdf).When I run the code on the debugger the program stops in the HardFault_Handler() and the call stack is indicating it failed after CUSTOM_FillRect() calls DMA2D_FillBuffer().Any suggestions gratefully received.Regards,Andrew.#sram #ltdc #stm32f4
