Has anyone used a different display with this development board. I am trying to use a Newhaven 320 x 240 display with this board. I have removed the display and made an adapter board as the Newhaven has a 54 pin connector and the DISCO board has a 40 pin connector fo the LCD. By looking at the schematic of the DISCO board, I noticed that the board uses a interrupt from the display. The display I am using does not have an interrupt pin. Will this be a problem? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi I have spent a long time trying to get a working example going on a 3rd party STM32 development board, to try and learn the difficulties in getting a project up and going from scratch. The ST examples are awesome and work beautifully on the off the shelf ST boards. But when it comes to moving to another board like the HOTMCU SOM-STM32429IG or a WaveShare board I cant seem to fill in the blanks.A video or instructable on getting TouchGFX up and working from scratch and the quirks encountered would be awesome. Martin has done a fabulous job so far and has motivated me to move from PIC32 to STM32 just by watching his videos.I think that what is holding a lot of us newbies back is the complexity of NOR,NAND and SDRAM initialisation and CubeMX not making memory assignment and mapping easier for unfamiliar users. The current ST tools offering is groundbreakingly awesome and I am hanging to fully understandand and use it.But like Arduino and Platformio, it will change the face of makers
I want to create something that is almost a 2D swipe container. but in reality I think the best solution is several screens, each with swipe containers, and a vertical swipe on any one will transition North/South to the next page.Is there documentation on this? Perhaps some example code? Thanks!Bob
Hello,I'm trying to retrieve the text string of a textarea widget with the function getTypedText() but I get an access error. No wildcards are used in the textArea2, the propery "Text"is just filled in with a short text in the designer.
cubemx v5.5 touchgfx v4.13.0 . I've already canceled microLIB and c99.it says no define .But I can go to its definition. What can I do to deal the problem.
hi everybody,I am working on a project with the stm32f746g-DISCOVERY board , I use Touch GFX to make a hmi.The 1 Mbyte of Flash in the microcontroller is too short for my useI am using keil to develop the project if possible what setting do I need to change in keil ?I hope somebody can help me (:julien
I generated code using ToughGFX 4.13.0 for the STM32F769I_DISCO board. I was able to run target in ToughGFX and import the code into the CubeIDE. There were missing files that needed to be deleted from the project to get it to build. But after that, I can't load the debugger. I get the following in the console:STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. Version 5.3.2 Copyright (c) 2019, STMicroelectronics. All rights reserved. I am using TouchGFX to create app, which i want to intigrate with STM32Cube IDE, but in this IDE , GRAPHICS option I am not getting, what to do to proceed further. M i missing something to add or what (library or package)
Hello,I'd like to start by saying thank you to the community, so far it has been great and I have been able to work through any issue that has come up.A new problem has shown up today. I just started making some real headway on my project, and in doing so, I created a new screen with a scrollable container. Within that container, I have some text. When I try and scroll around it appears I have some screen tearing issues. I have attached a video of the issue.I have read around about this issue and it seems like a double buffer could solve this issue, so I enabled the double buffer and stuffed these values based on another demo from TouchGFX:Start Address : 0xC0000000 Start Address 2: 0xC005FA00Enabling the double buffer didn't change anything :(Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Processor: STM32F746BGTouchGFX 4.13.0STM32CubeIDE 1.2.1Regards,James
Hello to all friends..I ask for help to work with a 240x64 GLCD display with an STM32F103ZET6 microcontroller. He tried to make different code but none works correctly.Does any partner have any functional libraries?.I look forward to your help. Thanks you very much.Best regards
Hello. When using a 1024 × 768 resolution LCD with the STM32F769I,Is performance bad?Doesn't it move lightly? If you have a proof result or other evidence, please post it.Thank you.
Hey,I transfered the JPEG_DecodingFromFLASH_DMA example code into program, where I try to decode and display a JPEG image which I receive via SPI (thus, the image data is storred in the Flash as well).Board: STM32F769I-DISCOThe code is unchanged except of the parameters pointing to the data to be decoded and respectively its length in the JPEG_Decode_DMA function:JPEG_Decode_DMA(&JPEG_Handle, (uint32_t)frame_buffer, frame_size, JPEG_OUTPUT_DATA_BUFFER);However, when I wait for the JpegProcessingEnd, the JPEG_OutputHandler never returns a ProcessDoneFlag ('1').do { JpegProcessing_End = JPEG_OutputHandler(&JPEG_Handle); }while(JpegProcessing_End == 0);From Debugging, I know this is because the stateJpeg_OUT_BufferTab[JPEG_OUT_Read_BufferIndex].State == JPEG_BUFFER_FULLwill never be reaced. Respectively, the HAL_JPEG_DataReadyCallback will bever be called wich should set the JPEG_BUFFER_FULL state. And the JPEG_Process will not be executed which would call the Callback, if I go
My office computer only have internet access via virtual machine, So i can't download the templates in the TouchGFX Designer. How to install the STM32F746G-DISCO template offline?
Hi.I'm currently working on a project targetting an F769 MCU.I upgraded to the latest CubeMX (5.5) and TouchGFX (4.13) and installed the TouchGFX Addon for CubeMX.To start prototyping the application (video player), I intended to use a F769i Discovery Application template and the Demo 2 UI Template as a base project, then manually import over the Video player code from the F7 Examples on the CubeMX repository. However, currently I'm unable to generate the base TouchGFX project, as I'm unable to download the required templates:During the download process, the following error briefly appears on the screen (timeout):I've tried on multiple different connections (different networks/gateways), with TouchGFX Desgner 4.12.3 and 4.13.0, and with and without administrator privileges, but there is always an issue downloading either the UI or the application template. Is the a way to ensure this download is completed successfully, or am I missing any step on generation?
Hi everyone,I am trying design a custom container that needs to "handleDragEvent" function. But this function cannot be overridden in a container, as far as I see. This function can be usable when you work in a screen. But when you work in a custom container it's not working. I tried create a function for drag event in custom container and call this function in a screen's "handleDragEvent" function. Like that; void testScreenView::handleDragEvent(const touchgfx::DragEvent& evt) { if(customContainer.isVisible()) { customContainer.customDragEvent(evt); } }When I do that custom container drag event works very well. But this time screen's scrollable containers not working properly. What should I do? Anybody have any idea? Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,I have developed a GUI based on STM32F769I-DISCO Board. The GUI works perfectly fine on the TouchGFX simulator. It also flashes perfectly inside the target board. However, in my GUI, I have added a code such that when a certain button is pressed, a Custom Keyboard pops up (becomes visible). The keyboard is my custom designed on the custom container and added in the Main Screen. The keyboard works great in simulator. However, on target board, as soon as I press the button, the GUI Freezes and never resumes until I reset the board. It then again resumes whenever the keyboard is supposed to pop-up. Any suggestions or ideas as to why this might be happening??Thanks.
Hi everyone,We working on a project with touchgfx software. We designed a new hardware for this project. Our custom hardware has this components;STM32F746BET processorIS42S16800F-7TLI SDRAM (128Mb , 143MHz)MT25QL128ABA1EW9 QUAD SPI NOR FLASH (128Mb, 133MHz)We able to access flash and ram. Code able to work in processor. When I want to draw a box or something that can be drawable with code, screen working fine. But when I want to draw an image from flash, screen go crazy. You can see an example this situation; What can you say about it? Is this can be fixed with software or we need to review our hardware? Thanks in advance :).

Now that I have managed to get the LCD working (thanks for the helpful members on this forum) I'm able to send data on the LCD. Sending one value is ok, but I have the actual data in a struct that I'm able to send through a queue for the model. Question is now how to display those results on the LCD? Do I have to make separate text areas with wildcard values for every value I want to display, or is there a more convenient way of doing it? In TouchGFX there's a container "List Layout" but I don't know if that has anything to do with this.
Hello @Martin KJELDSEN Is it possible to have a list of the available templates for V3.0 Pinned at top of this discussion forum. In that way we can tracked which one are remaining and which ones are done.May be a list with priority would also help. For eg. STM32H7BI-DK v.3.0.0 (done)STM32F746-DISCO v.3.0.0 (done)STM32F769I-DISCO v.3.0.0 (done)STM32H743I-EVAL v.3.0.0 (in progress)Thanks,Tushar
Hello,I try to find a way to use the integrated tft screen with ST IDE. I can't find any option nor any driver to do it. Can someone help me to start ?I try to follow the youtube tuto : Setting up TouchGFX 4.10.0 integration with CubeIDE 1.0.2But with my board, I don't have any option in middleware for Display. I add soft for TouchGFX. I have enable CRC + XCube-touchGFX. But when I try to setup the interface to parallel RGB, option is disable saying I need to enable LTDC. I don't find any LTDC option in cubemx for this board. Can someone help me ?Julien
Hello,Why is this method protected? I want to use this item position to scroll the ScrollList, when cursor is at the bottom (using animateToItem). I use physical buttons to move in the ScrollList.Must I modify Middleware TouchGFX code to make it public?Just wondering if this is unelegant solution, is there proper way to do this in TouchGFX, without modifying library code? Thanks!
Hi,I have DCMI working with external sync, but what I get in memory is the video data with the sync codes (0xFF 00 00 YY). So in this case I needed to implement a code to extract this sync codes to get only the active video, but it waste processor resources..How can I get only active vide data? I tried to work with embedded sync, but it didn't work. According to AN5020 page 41 the embedded mode shows the frame structure that I receive in external sync mode...Thanks
Is it possible that long texts automatically are displayed in a small text area by running endless to the end of the text and starting again at the beginning? Scrolling the text within one textline? Are there examples in youtube to see the result, and how it has to be used?
