Hello everybody,I'm trying to build an STM32 simple example based on CMake from the Windows shell but I got an error (I think because CMake doesn't find the GCC STM32CubeIde toolchain configuration). If I run CMake from STM32CubeIde all works fine (I think because "the location of the toolchain is resolved by the "MCU Toolchain" project setting (via PATH)" as stated by the cubeide-gcc.cmake file).I'm using STM32CubeIDe v 1.14.1I started from the example shown in AN5952 doc.I'm just wondering what is the additional option I have to set to build the example in Windows but outside the STM32CubeIde.I attached a snapshot of the error.  Thanks

Hello everyone,we have developed a custom board based on stm32mp157 chip. We also forked the tf-a and u-boot from meta-st layer. If we flash an sd card using the flash layout, image works. But my goal is to copy the files from linux host machine, which I did. Now the image does not boot from the sd card. It is showing following error.NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP157CAA Rev.ZNOTICE: Model: emtrion DIMM-Argon stm32mp157c, yocto, SDCARDINFO: Reset reason (0x15):INFO: Power-on Reset (rst_por)INFO: FCONF: Reading TB_FW firmware configuration file from: 0x2ffe2000INFO: FCONF: Reading firmware configuration information for: stm32mp_ioINFO: Using EMMCINFO: Instance 2INFO: Boot used partition fsbl1NOTICE: BL2: v2.6-stm32mp1-r2.0(debug):v2.6-dirty(a1f02f4f)NOTICE: BL2: Built : 13:14:26, Nov 23 2021ERROR: Unable to find the partition with the uuid mentioned in metadataDoes anyone have any idea, how to solve this? Hi,Due to the limitation of height in our product, modules won't be suitable.I am currently considering STA8089FG.Could you send me the application note/reference design for this chip? Thanks.

Hello! Can you please help with the differences between Teseo-LIV3FL and Teseo-LIV3F modules, does LIV3FL have all the features of LIV3F plus low power, are there any reasons why to prefer LIV3F over LIV3FL nowadays, or it is recommended to always use LIV3FL instead of LIV3F for new design? Thanks.

Hello,I was checking the evaluvation board of VNF1048F for a efuse application to control motor drive. I wish to know how the capcitors for the charge pump selected in the evaluvation board. I am able to see 470nF in the evaluvation board schematics.Thank you,

I am working with an STM32F107VCT6TR MCU to communicate with an M95M04-DRMN6TP component over SPI3.The pins are set up as follows:PB7(93) -> HOLD(7)PB6(92) -> W(3)PA15(77) -> S(1)PB5(91) SPI3_MOSI -> D(5)PB4(90) SPI3_MISO -> Q(2)PB3(89) SPI3_SCK -> C(6)Hardware NSS Signal is disabled, in preference to running the NSS signal via Software using PA15 low when I want to communicate with the component, and high otherwise, per the M95M04-DR datasheet.  I've tried enabling the hardware NSS signal, but that approach did not seem to work well for me (and elsewhere on the forum, people seemed to not recommend this approach).  I have no other components that require communicating over SPI3, so I thought it might work for me, but... oh well.Clock parameters are set CPOL low, CPHA 1 Edge.  Data Size is 8 bits, with the First Bit set as MSB First.  Frame Format is set to Motorola.  This matches the first SPI mode supported by the M95M04-DR, to include ensur

Hello,I need to power the NucleoF103 development board using an external 3.3V power supply. I have read in the NucleoF103 manual that this is possible by removing SB2 (to disconnect the voltage regulator output) and SB12 (to disconnect NRST). I also have read the schematics of the board and it looks that the power supply for the microcontroller (VDD) is provided by 3.3V connector through the JP6 jumper. Is the same thing if I mantain SB2 connected, remove the JP6 jumper and provide the 3.3 power supply to the pin of the JP6 jumper instead of the 3.3V pin of the Arduino connector? Moreover, what is the reason for disconnecting NRST by removing SB12? I have already programmed the board using ST-Link before switching to the external 3.3V power supply. Is there any other way to proceed without removing SB12 (for example connecting T_NRST on CN4 to ground)? Thanks.Marco

Hello. After updating STM32CubeIDE to 1.15.0 I faced this problem :(I can't run or debug any projects. Of course, software for STLink was updated.Hope, someone has a solution. My console includes this information:Encountered Error when opening ..........\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.cubeprogrammer.win32_2.1.200.202311302303\tools\bin\STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe Main alertError in final launch sequence:Failed to execute MI command:load ...........\\G030F6_test2\\Debug\\G030F6_test2.elf Error message from debugger back end:Error finishing flash operationFailed to execute MI command:load ...........\\G030F6_test2\\Debug\\G030F6_test2.elf Error message from debugger back end:Error finishing flash operationFailed to execute MI command:load ...........\\G030F6_test2\\Debug\\G030F6_test2.elf Error message from debugger back end:Error finishing flash operationError finishing flash operation

Hi,I'm trying to use an interrupt with CMSIS_RTOS2. The user button is configured to use as an interrupt source:When I push the button, the system freezes. I suspect the interrupt flag doesn't get cleared but I have no idea why. There is nothing (yet) in the callback function:This works fine in normal working mode but it freezes when I'm working in CMSIS-RTOS2. I have no idea why this happens.I'm working on a 32F746GDISCOVERY board.

Hi Team,I'm using Nucleo - L496ZG board in our project.Whenever I connect the USB cable to the CN1 connector, the ST-Link isn't detected.I have checked the ports on Device Manager and it shows Jlink instead of ST-Link.I am attaching the image for your reference. Awaiting for your response!  Thanks & Regards, Sneha K

Hello ST Microcontroller Forum Community,I hope this message finds you well. With the invaluable assistance of this community, I’ve been able to successfully write a simple GPIO code to blink the LED on my AEK-MCU-C1MLIT1 board. I’m grateful for the support, as it has significantly boosted my confidence in handling GPIO operations.Currently, I have the LED_4, LED_3, and LED_5 toggling as desired. However, I’m now seeking guidance on integrating a user switch/button with the existing code. Specifically, I aim to initiate the LED toggling sequence when the button is pressed. If anyone could provide assistance in integrating the button with the code and share the necessary PinEditor configuration for the button, it would be immensely appreciated. Additionally, any accompanying code snippets or instructions would be incredibly helpful.Thank you in advance for your support and expertise.Best regards,Ali

I want to receive the data from one nucleo board through CAN protocol and it should trigger the DMA and shuffle the received data and transmit back again to another board. In ioc configuration I am unable to enable the DMA (peripheral to memory and vice versa), it is showing like Memory-to-memory configuration. Manually I added the DMA configuration and trying to link the DMA with CAN peripheral, it is showing error like CAN_HandleTypeDef has no member named 'hdmatx'

I am using STM32_Programmer_CLI and need a list of all possible error codes.  Where are they located?

Hi, I'm using an STM32F439ZI (on a nucleo board) and connected a Zaber stage with its encoder to it. When disconnected, I can measure the A & B signals schanging from GND to 5V. I currently cannot paste an image from the scope but I've lookerd at them before and the quadrature output looks as expected with no pullups or pull downs required. I hooked the signals up to pins PE9 & PE11 and set TIM1 up to Encoder mode:  and the TIM1_init() looks like this:  static void MX_TIM1_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END TIM1_Init 0 */ TIM_Encoder_InitTypeDef sConfig = {0}; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0}; /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM1_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END TIM1_Init 1 */ htim1.Instance = TIM1; htim1.Init.Prescaler = 0; htim1.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim1.Init.Period = 65535; htim1.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim1.Init.RepetitionCounter = 0; htim1.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORE

in NFC readers product selection page the "interface to host" feature for solutions ST25R3916, ST25R3916B, ST25R3917B, and ST25R3919B is listed as "SPI" only, But when I open the product page of these solutions I find that they support both SPI and I2C protocols and they are listed under the "External Communication" tab. Which one should I believe?P.S: The Datasheets of these solutions are grouped with other solutions which already have both I2C and SPI support so they don't solve this conflict "e.g: the same datasheet is for both ST25R3916 & ST25R3917, but ST25R3917 is already approved to have both SPI & I2C interface to host by product Selection tab while ST25R3916 is featured as SPI only in the product selection tab".

Hello,I want to ask a question about internal buck switching converter of STSPIN32G4.We want to use its output voltage of 10V or 12V to supply an external potentiometer. Is this converter indicated to use for power supply external devices requiring 10mA about? Thank you in advanceBest Regards,Federico Flammini

Thanks to SofLit, I managed to create a new project from a configured .ioc file. The next objectif is to see if I can read CAN data from an instrument cluster I have on my bench.I am attempting to read the data from STMCubeProgrammer. I can connect to my Nucleo board and read device memory. I have connected my Nucleo board with external VIN; as I understatnd ground reference for CAN requires all components to be connected to this same reference. The data seems to be going in a loop, but nothing changes when I select Live Update.Do I need toset up filters if I want to see all data on the bus?Can I use STMProgrammer for such data reading?

Hi,I am working with STM32G491RE.I communicating  ATM90E26 single phase energy meter with STM32 through SPI communication.I can able to read voltage ,current values correctly from the meter. For KWH calculation, I am reading Absolute active energy register for kwh values. In the datasheet they mentioned the values I receive from the energy register are pulses.  how can I convert pulses to kwh. can anyone suggest?my pulse constant value is 1000 imp/kwh. From the datasheet they mentioned register will be cleared after read. For that I am following below process  uint16_t Em_kwh=0; uint16_t Em_kwhcharging=0; uint8_t kwh_power[2]={0x00,0x00,0x00}; Em_kwh=GetAbsoluteActiveEnergy(); //to read the register its working properly Em_kwhcharging=Em_kwhcharging+Em_kwh; // I am converting above decimal value in to hex values void ConvertDecimalToHex(int decimalValue, uint8_t* res) { res[0] = (uint8_t)((decimalValue >> & 0xFF); // High byte res[1] = (uint8_t)(deci

Hello there,   I am working on a project using an STM3240G-EVAL board which as the STM32407IGH6 MCU on it. In this project, I want to use USB-OTG-FS to connect an external USB microphone to the board and then store any information sent into the microphone into the 16 Mbit SRAM that is on the board. However, I am struggling on figuring out what pins I need to enable to get this functionality working. I am also open to hearing other ideas on how to go about this project. For example, do you suggest using DMA and ADC instead to get the microphone data. At the end of the project I need to be able to use the SRAM, an external microphone and an external speaker to playback audio as well.  Any help would be really appreciated as I am on a little bit of a time crunch and unsure what pins to enable. I am using STMcubeIDE with STMcubeProgrammer and STMcubeMX on MAC OS to run this project.

Hi,I am using STM32G491RE MCU for my project. Is it true each STM32 IC has its own unique ID. For STM32G4 product has the UID facility. Is it 96-bit ID for all the stm32 families or is it different.Which manual has to be referred for this?If yes can I use that for serial number for the product.Which memory location is it stored? Can read that from IC and send it through UART?Can anyone suggest. Thanks

I am working on OTG FS application on stm32f769 discovery board, as per the it's schematic for OTG_FS VBUS power supply will be taken care by External Phy(see below image). So as per that I configure the STMCUBE IDE, and i disabled the VBUS_Sensing also. and started the debug process. I noticed that it is getting failed. Inside this USBH_Process in 1st switch case i.e. HOST_IDLE case there is one if condition, that is getting failed.   USBH_StatusTypeDef USBH_Process(USBH_HandleTypeDef *phost) { __IO USBH_StatusTypeDef status = USBH_FAIL; uint8_t idx = 0U; printf("inside usbh process\n"); /* check for Host pending port disconnect event */ if (phost->device.is_disconnected == 1U) { phost->gState = HOST_DEV_DISCONNECTED; } switch (phost->gState) { case HOST_IDLE : if ((phost->device.is_connected) != 0U) { printf("USB Device Connected"); /* Wait for 200 ms after connection */ phost->gState = HOST_DEV_WAIT_FOR_ATTACHMENT; USBH_Delay(2

I'm having problems to be able to establish the connection between STEVAL STWINBX1 and ST MEMS Studio software, with either of the two available ways (BLE or Serial port). In the first case, mainly the board won't be shown to select. In case it does, after trying to connect it, an error message appears: "Can't open the board". In  the second case, the board always appears to be selected but once I try it, an error message is shown which says "Board not identified". I'm not able to connect it no matter what I try. As said in the user manual relative to the software, this board can only work for the AlgoBuilder functionality, not for a full or partial sensor evaluation. It has to be said that the board works perfectly through BLE on the IOS App. Am I missing something? Sound strange to me. Maybe is just non-compatible or maybe it's a firmware issue (which I think it's not the case). Any suggestion will be very helpful.
