I have 2 devices on my SPI bus that need different CPOL settings. both use CPHA = 0 and the SPI peripheral is configured to use Motorola frame format.Communication works with both devices if their respective CPOL setting is set in CubeMX (and thus fixed at compile time), but I need to switch CPOL at runtime, so I tried to set and clear the CPOL bit in SPI CR1 before the transmission: SET_BIT(hspi_->Instance->CR1, SPI_CR1_CPOL); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(DAC_CS_GPIO_Port, DAC_CS_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_StatusTypeDef status = HAL_SPI_Transmit(hspi_, buf, sizeof(buf) / sizeof(buf[0]), 1000); //single byte if (status == HAL_OK) status = HAL_SPI_Transmit(hspi_, parameters, length, 1000); //multiple bytesCLEAR_BIT(hspi_->Instance->CR1, SPI_CR1_CPOL); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(LCD_CS_GPIO_Port, LCD_CS_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); //...  this works to change CPOL to what the devices need, but whenever CPOL changes, the first byte transmitted is 0x00 and only 7 clock pulses are generat

Hi all! This is my first post in the community.Me and my colleagues are designing a System on Module powered by the STM32H735IG MCU.We are trying to discover how to connect multiple HyperRAM modules to a single OCTOSPI interface in Memory Mapped mode. For doing this, we need to use several Chip Select (CS) pins in order to specify the HyperRAM chip. However, the OCTOSPI interface seems to only provide a single CS pin.Is possible to configure the OCTOSPI interface to use more than one chip select? If not possible, how can we connect several HyperRAM modules to the STM32H735? Thanks in advance. Regards,Manuel

Hey there,i'm trying to get a higher Baudrate for UART on the SPC582B. The datasheet says that i have to set the oversampling rate to 6, to get a maximum Baudrate of 13.33.to set the Oversampling i should set the bits in the UARTCR register, for CSP, OSR and ROSE. The thing is, by the low level functions, i can just only write in the Bits 16 to 31.i have found the true registers for it, it is in the spc582b.h, but as i said the low level functions doesn't use it. therefore should i initialize the UART bus on a different way to use it, that the low level functions are using the normal 32bit registers ?these are the normal ones

Does anyone have experience with Etherner/IP on STM32? (STM MCU or MPU are just fine)We are looking for Ethernet/IP example on STM32 but seems not found any thing yet.All we found are just : I-NUCLEO-NETX - netSHIELD industrial ethernet protocols expansion board for STM32 Nucleo - STMicroelectronicsand Port Ethernet/IP - EtherNet/IP protocol stack/lib.or compliant coms - STMicroelectronicsBut that is it. No more useful information to start a demo project. Thank you in advance,

Hello, is there a possibility to apply TraceX to a ThreadX project using MP135? I could follow some tutorials and include the necessary TraceX functions, but I can't generate a .trx file. The option is simply not available in the CubeIDE. Would you have any suggestions? Best,J. Schneider

Hello everyone, I am configuring an STM32F401RE and its RTC on the STM32CubeIDE softwareI've written an program that debug without errors. But ErrorHandler() is called during the RCC Oscillators initialization (during the "SystemClock_Config(void)" process). I think i'have followed the steps and the right parameters, but would you have a clue of where could it be from ? Let me know if you need additional pictores of the system configuration of the .ioc file maybe      /** Initializes the RCC Oscillators according to the specified parameters * in the RCC_OscInitTypeDef structure. */ RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSI|RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_LSE; RCC_OscInitStruct.LSEState = RCC_LSE_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSIState = RCC_HSI_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSICalibrationValue = RCC_HSICALIBRATION_DEFAULT; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLState = RCC_PLL_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLSource = RCC_PLLSOURCE_HSI; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.P

I am developing an TCP/IP Server Client application on my NUCLEO-F207ZG  development board.I am implementing a function to send ADC values on Ethernet.void Client_Data_Send(void){char temp_buff[TEMP_BUFF_SIZE];volatile uint32_t buff_len;volatile uint16_t Temperature = 0;struct pbuf *p = NULL;Temperature = TEMP;buff_len = sprintf(temp_buff,"DHT11 Sensor value from TCP Client : %u \n\r",Temperature);/*allocate pbuf from ram*/p = (pbuf_alloc(PBUF_TRANSPORT,buff_len,PBUF_POOL));(tcp_client->p)= (p);if(tcp_client->p != NULL){/*copy the data to send into the allocated pbuf*/pbuf_take( tcp_client->p ,(char *)temp_buff,buff_len);/*send data*/tcp_client_send(tx_pcb, tcp_client);/*free mem*/pbuf_free( tcp_client->p);}}Above is the function I implemented. At line (tcp_client->p)= (p); when I debuged I came to know that values are not getting assinged.Below are the screen shot.  since wrong values for all members getting assigned I am facing Hard fault issue. Is it str

Hello,I'm trying to generate continous stream of random bits on SPI MOSI (for eye pattern analysis).I'm making tests with 2 byte sequences.I'm starting DMA transfer with :  HAL_SPI_Transmit_DMA(&hspi2, &spi_outdata, 2);  in the HAL_SPI_TxCpltCallback I start another SPI transfer. I notice few tenths (cca. 60) of microseconds gaps on clock and data signals on SPI MOSI output. Is there any way to achieve continuous clock and data signals on SPI ?If I try to send on Half Callback, DMA is busy - it doesn't send. Can I somehow only add to output buffer on half-complete callback or any other solution? Thanks in advance, regards.

Hi together,i´m trying to set up a communication via usb using the usb cdc class to communicate with additional software via a virtual com port running on a local pc using the Nucleo G474RE board. However i can't find a sufficient documentation what i do have to implement / settings that have to be done to send and recieve data.I`ve also watched the youtube tutorial from stm on the topic usb cdc but it didn't help me. I made the following steps until now in the cube ide:I´ve activated the usb in the communication section and the usb_device in the middleware where i also set the communication device class option. Afterwards i solved the clock issue using the HSI48RC clock for usb. But from that on the next steps are unclear to me. Can i now just use the "uint8_t CDC_Transmit_FS(uint8_t* Buf, uint16_t Len)" function to transmit data? This function is located in the usbd_cdc_if.h/c file.  I tried a short example using this function to send a short hello world char

I couldn't find information about the topmaking for the nano sensor LPS22HB on the datasheet, I need to implement a visual inspection for this IC.Does anyone knows where I can find this info?

My ongoing difficulties running FATFS on an SD card has uncovered a problem! A read of the boot sector does not read all the data correctly, specifically the first 16 bytes are all zero. This means that FATFS reports there is no filesystem. The code I'm running is all CubeMX HAL stuff, so I'm at a loss what the problem is. 16 bytes is 1 DMA burst, so that might be significant. Here are screenshots of the SD boot sector, firstly as read by my PC, secondly as read during f_mount() by my STM32F767.

I am using SMBus to communicate with a smart battery. After looking at the code, I decided against using the SMBUS middleware but to directly using the HAL_SMBUS_xxx calls. My STM32G491 is the host and sending read-word commands to the battery works just fine. The bit I'm confused about how to receive commands emitted by the battery itself.I can see that the battery periodically emits a byte. The value is 0x12 and is by default NACKed. If I treat this value as the host's node address (i.e. 7-bit address 0x09) and set OwnAddress1 to 0x12, the byte is ACKed and another byte (0x14) appears on the bus about 25ms later, which is NACKed. There is another similar exchange about a second later. The error callback is called, apparently because of a timeout. The bus is now stuck in the state HAL_SMBUS_STATE_MASTER_BUSY_TX and I don't know how I'm supposed to clear this. Now sending further read-words commands fail because the bus is "busy".I'm still looking into this but would appreciate any ins

Hello, I have been working with the STM32U5 MCU and to start I worked through the workshop found here:STM32U5 Workshop (rristm.github.io) As part of the workshop the USART1 is setup in continuous communication mode. Is it possible to setup SPI in a similar way for continuous communication? Thanks,UL

Hello,  I have been using the STM32F4 chip for a while but I ran into an issue when trying to communicate with an ADC to sample at 200kHz. So I have started to work with the STM32U5 chip. My goal is to use the SPI RDY feature or the GPDMA triggered from an external interrupt in order to handle the spi communication and fill a buffer. Unfortunately I have been struggling to find good resources on how to use these features or examples that I can try to follow through. I am able to do spi communication that are called from the main process but I can't get a message to trigger from an external interrupt.  Any advice on how I can learn about these features would be greatly appreciated, I have also included the code as I have it thus far. Thanks!

hi guys, I hope this message finds you well. I am currently working with the STM32H743Eval2 evaluation board, and I'm facing a challenge with the smaller pins on the board. Specifically, I've noticed that the standard-sized pins do not fit in these smaller pin slots. how can I reach these pins.   Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Wondering what is the cost of using SHCI_C2_BLE_INIT_OPTIONS_REDUC_GATTDB_NVM overSHCI_C2_BLE_INIT_OPTIONS_FULL_GATTDB_NVM ? The first one can gets me 33% increase in bonding list size but I could not find what does it prevent me from using?

Hello, at the moment i am developing BLE software for STM32WB5 and it works fine. The updater of the BLESensor App is working well and we can update new firmware any time. But there is one question, where we can not find an awnser. Is there any possibility to perform the ota update from a pc or a web based solution? We don't want to use a smartphone or tablet for it. Can anyone help to solve the problem. Thanks. best regards

Hello, I am trying to play wav audio files from and sd card. The reading of the data works fine but the BSP_AUDIO_OUT_Play doesnt work, It get stuck inside the Dafult handler infinite loop.

Hi i am using STM32G474VET3 controller having below clock input range– 4 to 48 MHz crystal oscillator i am using 16 MHz right now. What is the significance if i use 32 MHz crystal or increase my crystal value. Does it increase speed for instruction execution . as max is 170MHz (i guess nby internal PLL)The STM32G473xB/xC/xE devices are based on the high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M432-bit RISC core. They operate at a frequency of up to 170 MHz.

I AM USING IN USB_HS DEVICE MODE ,WHEN I CONNECT USB CABLE TO THE PC THEN I WANT  TO KNOWE WHERE IT IS DETECT AND AFTER THAT I REMOVE USB CABLE THEN WHRE IT IS DETECT GIVE ME ANY REGISTER OR CALL BACK FUNCTION ONLY TELL ME IN DEVICE MODE

This is not a question, it is more an "experience report", related to find "reliability issues" (flaws) in my FW.Many people know: there is a HardFault_Handler: called when something goes wrong (e.g. accessing a not-existing memory address, e.g. address 0 (NULL), e.g. because of an uninitialized pointer. But the ARM Cortex MCUs have also other "traps" (INT vectors), e.g. also for MemManage_Handler, BusFault_Handler, ...In my case:after 1 hour or longer, the FW has crashed (randomly, a variable period of time until crash)It has hit the "MemManage_Handler" (often not really implemented to act on it, people focus on "HardFault_Handler" only)During Debugging my FW which has crashed (let it run with debugger connected), I came to this observation:there was an interrupt (for USB VCP) and afterwardsthe code was executed from "somewhere else" until it has hit the "MemManage_Handler"after checking what is going on, where is the PC, what is the LR register, the SP etc.I have realized: the code tr

Hello everyone, i am working on a software for setting the date and time. The plan is to set the date and tame manually (so no defficulties regarding that) and then continue to increase within the time flies thanks to the RTC of the NUCLEO F401RE.  Do you think that would be possible ? Would it be a simple way to set the date and time, by directly using the RTC with HAL libraries for example ?  Im thanking you already for your answers, XOXO

Hi,I have successfully installed STM32 vscode extension (v2.0.1) and able to create and build new projects with various MCU.However, I can't find STM32H757ZI from the device list presented by the extension. How can I fix the problem?

Hi Team,I have STM32L562 EDK with me , and can i make a USB PD application with that alone ?, or should i buy x-nucleo-snk1m1 which has TCPP01 for port protection?Expecting a quick replyThanks in advanceNithin

Hi,I'm looking into introducing STM32 Secure Boot and Secure Firmware Update based on X-CUBE-SBSFU library on my project with app based on CubeMX v6.11.1 (BSP1.28.0).I noted in CubeMX the MPU option is still not available for FreeRTOS - which is used by my application. It looks like the Secure Boot will be using MPU, but the app won't - will this become a showstopper for Secure Boot? Thanks,Torben
