Dear ST Team,I'm considering purchasing a microSD card for the STM32MP157F-DK2 development board, but I want to ensure compatibility before buying. The documentation mentions support for SanDisk Class 10 and UHS Speed Class 1 cards but doesn’t specify the maximum supported capacity. I know the board supports SDHC and SDXC standards, so theoretically, it should handle up to 2 TB (per the SDXC specification). Here are my questions:Has anyone successfully used a 256 GB microSD card (e.g., SanDisk SDSQUAC-256G-GN6MA Ultra 256GB UHS-I Class 10) with this board? Are there any practical limitations or known issues when using SDXC cards with capacities above 128 GB?Does the STM32MP157F-DK2 fully support exFAT, or is additional configuration required?Any insights or experiences with high-capacity microSD cards on this board would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!Zapsis Symeon

In the generated code in main.c file, there are variables that are declared as "private variables" by the software, such as "ADC_HandleTypeDef hadc1"; "TIM_HandleTypeDef htim1". Since these variables are declared only in main.c and not in main.h, does that mean that the use of these variables in other modules is not encouraged? If I need to use them in other modules, can I declare these variable as extern in main.h or is there a better way to handle this?Thank you in advance!

Hey ST community!I am trying to download the GUI for the STEVAL-L99615C from this LINKBut when I try to unzip this folder I get an error saying that the file is invalid. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks for any help!

Hi,I'm currently using a ST25R3911B-DISCO board at work.Yesterday my laptop was running Windows 10 Enterprise (don't know the exact build version) and everything was ok. The board was being discovered by ST25PC-NFC and I was able to use it with our custom host tool. This morning my laptop got updated with Windows 11 Enterprise 2H24 26100.2605. When i plugged the reader I saw the peripheral installation message and shortly after the installation success. I tried to open ST25PC-NFC and it was not able to detect the board anymore. If i plug the board into another win10 PC it works fine and gets detected correctly by ST25PC-NFC. Is this a known problem and is there a solution to get the ST25R3911B-DISCO working on win11 or should I just downgrade my laptop back to win10? Emanuele Somma

Hi,I hope everyone is fine.I have question about Inheritance Certification. The Thread Group says; The Thread Group allows certification by inheritance for families of end products that reuse the same Thread system (chip and stack) and the same use cases. When appropriate stack libraries and SOC or module used End Device Certification can certifiable by Inheritance. Our company does not have any Thread or Matter-certified products, but if we use ST's certified module and stack library, can we obtain Thread certification for an end device we develop? Can we use the certification by inheritance feature when using ST's modules? We want to use a Matter-enabled module and a certified stack binary in our projects; however, we will design a PCB using this module. We would like to confirm whether soldering components onto the PCB with the module or chip would invalidate the certification by inheritance. We would greatly appreciate your support with your experience and knowledge.

Hi,i am working with NUCLEO-WBA55 and using the BLE_p2pServer_ota example as a template for my project.Unfortunately, the program does not start when I supply it with power via USB but only after I have pressed the Reset button. Can someone please help me?

That's basically it.  I'm thrown off because this page explicitly says it has a 'CAN FD Transceiver', however, nothing says CAN on the silkscreen and this graphic I found:  Refers to the D14 and D15 pins as "CAN TD" and "CAN RD", which I assume is TX and RX implying that I would need a transceiver (CAN uses CAN High and CAN Low). Am I right in understanding that I need a MCP2551 or similar transceiver despite what the product description page says?

Hi all, my first post here, being new to STM32..I have an STM32F439ZI Nucleo for which I have ADC1 nicely capturing data with TIM2 defining the sample rate and circular DMA.This was working well until I regenerated the code using the option to initialize peripherals using separate file pairs for each peripheral. I realise that switching to that option doesn't handle migration of all User code as it should, that's OK, I could easily copy over the relevant code. However, the new version is still broken: the ADC conversion complete callback it firing at the expected rate, but all ADC data are zero. When I switch back to code generation not using separate initialization files, the everything starts working again. My application is also using DMA to drive an LCD, which is working OK, so DMA clearly isn't fundamentally broken.I've carefully checked each of the init functions that are moved into the newly created files (dma.c/h, adc.c/h, tim.c/h etc), and I can't see anything that's changed, no

Hi I am using Memory Protection Unit on a Nucleo-G474 board and trying to adapt the MPU feature to existing software.I found in the pm214 that we can change the CONTROL register to enter or leave privileged mode. I tried to enter and leave privileged mode and it worked. My question is as following:Does this CONTROL register have something like a lifetime cycle ? Can I frequently update the CONTROL register, say 10,000 times a second and expect it will work for the next 10 years ? Thank you very much.

Hi all,I have adapted the B-G431B-ESC1 board into a custom design and I am using a STLINK-V3MINIE for programming. I can program the controller and I can communicate via the serial interface. But ST Motor Pilot V1.2.12 does not detect the UART interface. The 'Board Connection' area is greyed out. I tried older versions of the MotorPilot but it did not work too. Can ST Motor Pilot not work with STLINKs or do I need a different one than the STLINK-V3MINIE? Kind Regards Thundernail

HelloI am currently working on the STM32P157 to RTL8211F-CG connection diagram using the RGMII interface. Since Realtek does not provide much documentation such as application notes, I used the MB1272C as a reference design. By the way, thanks for sharing. In the mentioned reference design, pin 36 (XTALL_IN) of the RTL8211F-CG is connected via a 22R resistor to port PB5 (ETH_CLK) of the STM32P157 processor. However, in AN5031, on page 74 (Figure 47), ETH_CLK is connected to pin 37 (XTALL_OUT) of the RTL8211F(I)-CG. Also in RM0436 on page 503 in Table 49, ETH_CLK is as a clock output for the Ethernet PHY. However, in the RTL8211F-CG note, pin 37 is described as XTAL_OUT/EXT_CLK, theoretically a clock input, but the pin is marked as output.I am a bit confused, did I miss something? I do not know now whether I should connect the ETH_CLK output to XTALL_IN or XTALL_OUT, common sense tells me that the output is connected to the input, but...Thanks for any sugestions.

We currently use the VL53L1x and have struggled with precise measurements to close objects. Our application needs precise measurements between 1mm and 400mm.  Reviewing the available sensors ST has it appears to us that the VL53L4CD is the best possible sensor given our needs.Would you agree? Thanks,Will

Hello, what is the best way to run some of the demos provided by CubeMx on a custom HW?Probably like this: Generate demo code for an evaluation board. Then merge the generated initialization code for the custom board into the demo code folder?Or can CubeMx generate directly demo code for custom HW e.g. pick a demo for an evaluation board and import the custom board .ioc?I've read somewhere here that this would be possible in future?ThanksEDIT:After reading some related threads here, I think I have to provide some additional information. The custom design based on a STM32H753 / LQFP176. Most of the IOs (USB, SDRAM, FLASH, ETH etc.) is nearly the same on the HWSTM32H753_EVAL2. I guess most of the demos would work on the custom HW out of the box but the pinout of the BGA package is different.I guess the examples for this evaluation board are not "CubeMx compatible", what probably means that the code is not generated using CubeMx? Because of this, no IOC is available? If somebody has created

Hello.I am designing a product using the VL53L7CH model.I am using a 3.3V MCU.So I'm trying to use 3.3V for both IOVDD and AVDD's voltage level. Is there no problem if I use the same line without distinguishing IOVDD and AVDD? Regards,KORM

I have added all the drivers for the VL53L0X API, but I still encounter this error. Why is that?

How to port BLE Mesh Lighting application SW for BNRGLP into STM32WB09?

Hello, for the project I am developing I am using a STM32L433.We have connected a motor encoder signals to PA15 and PB3, that are CH1 and CH2 for timer1 TIM2 configured in encoder mode.We used CubeMX to configure the HW, and that worked perfectly for another encoder on other pins.We use a ST link HW interface for FW run/debug, using the SWD interface.I have a problem with the encoder in timer1 to count while the motor is spinning in some cases.Compiled both in release mode or debug mode and running it or debugging it the FW shows a random behavior with the timer1 often not counting the encoder signals. Behavior may change after a reset or a power on/off cycle.I have verified that in all cases the input signal is received correctly by periodically reading one of encoder signal status and driving a LED accordingly. If I manually spin the motor the LED blinks, which means the toggling signals are correctly received by the microprocessor. But the timer1 cannot count them.As we have no

In the first page of AN4777, the RM0411 is listed as the reference document for STM32L4x6. There is no link to the document and i am unable to found it. Also in STM32L4x6 page, the reference manual is named RM0351 instead of RM0411.

Hello everyone,I'm new to the STM32 and Linux environment and have a question.I am using the STM32MP157d-dk1 and have been following the getting started guide(see : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-A7/Create_a_simple_hello-world_application ) and how to cross-compile with Developer-Package ( see : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_cross-compile_with_the_Developer_Package#Adding_a_.22hello_world.22_user_space_example  ) and it all works fine. But I'd like to know how to do the same thing but using a .py file instead of .c file from my host machine as i want to mainly use python for my development. Thanks for your assistance.Regards.

I am using the STM32H7B0VBT6 microcontroller, which has limited internal flash memory. To implement Secure Boot and Secure Firmware Update (SBSFU), I have connected an external W25Q256JVIQ flash memory to the MCU via Quad SPI.   Is it possible to store the bootloader in the internal flash memory and application firmware store into external flash memory? Please provide any guidance, documents, or articles to help implement this setup?

Good morning,Could you confirm for me the version of Ubuntu most suitable for installing the development tools for "STM32 MPU ecosystem release note - v6.0.0"On version "22.04", I have problem to install "libncurses5".https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-A7/Install_the_SDK yocto@Yocto:~$ sudo apt-get install build-essential libncurses-dev libncurses5 libyaml-dev libssl-dev Reading package lists... The datasheet for STM32H723VG (https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-microprocessors/stm32h723vg.html) states that the devices have 2 x 12 bit, 2-channel DACs. However, in STM32CubeMX I see only one DAC listed (device = STM32H723VGT6).Is this an error in the datasheet or an issue with STM32CubeMX?  Or something else?

Hi there, I was trying to use the TouchGFX Designer Template for the H563ZI dev board with the RVA35HI display. However I noticed that I have REV1.0 of the display whereas the template that is generated is for REV1.1.I tried configuring the pin connections through the .ioc files by referring to respective version datasheet but so far no luck. It would of great help if there was any way in which I can be given the template for the display version that I've got.Any help would be really appreciated.Cheers

Hi,I am trying to use a STM32G491KEU6 with FDCAN, but the communication is failing at line:if (HAL_FDCAN_AddMessageToTxFifoQ(&hfdcan1, &TxHeader, TxData) != HAL_OK) { ...I found out that this is a problem that receiver is not sending a ACK bit - cannot it be a software issue? I am using two STM32G491KEU6 with the same code mentioned bellow, while I am also using a TCAN3403DRBRQ1 transceiver on both boards. The boards seems ok, I can even see a transmittion on the line with oscilloscope, but there is probably no ACK.Thank you for any help

The generated code for the CM7 core, file main.c includes "cmsis_os.h", this should include "cmsis_os2." instead because of the V2 interface. The correct file "cmsis_os2.h" is in the Middlewares/Third_Party/FreeRTOS/Source/CMSIS_RTOS_V2 directory, the project needs to have that directory added and the CMSIS_RTOS (without _V2) can be removed from the project search path. My compiler is IAR if that makes a difference, MCU and Firmware package is STM32Cube_FW_H7 V1.9.0
