Hello everyone,I am currently using the STM32F207ZG in my project, but I am considering replacing it with STM32F407ZG due to speed. After reviewing the two MCUs, I found that the cores and memories of the two MCUs are different, but the peripherals are almost identical, and the pinouts seem to be completely the same. Then, can I replace the STM32F207ZG with the STM32F407ZG in my design without requiring significant changes to the PCB? The software will be modified for the new MCU. (I expect it will not be difficult since the current code is HAL-based.)I would appreciate any insights or advice!Thank you!

Hello all,I have updated the STM32Cube IDE version to the 1.15.0, it has own STLinkUpgrade tool which is also updated to version 3.14.5. But a problem arised. It wants me to update my STLink V2 firmware. When I tried, It gives error like:"Unexpected flash size for ST-Link Micro. Don`t know how to upgrade."But I can use the older version 3.13.4 without any problem:Is there a problem caused by 3.13.5 or caused by my ST-Link V2?

Hi everyone!I've migrated my STM32H753 project to the new CubeMX version, and after that, something went wrong with the CAN bus communication (everything worked fine before the update). The CAN functions return no errors, and messages are being sent, but they are incorrect — I'm getting a Stuff Error on the receiver side (A Stuff Error occurs when 6 consecutive bits of the same value are detected on the bus).I wonder if anyone else has encountered this issue and found a solution.

Hey,I want to test an off the shelf Molex NFC antenna 15*15 mm using the ST25R3911B. Is it possible to connect the antenna to the discovery board as I wanna evaluate the antenna whilst connected to the ST25R3911B? If so, how can I test the setup? If not, is there any other way to test other than connecting the antenna to a standalone chip with the matching network and decoupling components? Thank you.

Hi all, Does anybody knows why there is no stm32mp157f-dk2 device tree for https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/u-boot/tree/v2025.01-rc4?   make ARCH=arm stm32mp15_defconfig make DEVICE_TREE=stm32mp157f-dk2   Following commands work with stm32mp157c-dk2 but thats not the board I am using Regards

Hi all,I am currently working with the STEVAL-PROTEUS1 Board, which incorporates the STM32WB5MMG module and the IIS3DWB high-bandwidth accelerometer sensor, interfaced via SPI_1.According to the IIS3DWB sensor datasheet, it supports a clock frequency of up to 10MHz and an Output Data Rate (ODR) of 26667Hz (37 microseconds). My objective is to collect sensor data at an ODR of 26667Hz.Here are the steps I have taken so far:Configured SPI_1 to 8MHz.Configured the sensor to generate an ODR interrupt, which is successfully triggering every 37 microseconds. The issue arises when collecting data (6 bytes) from the sensor, which is taking 42 microseconds. Ideally, this should not exceed 10 microseconds using HAL functions in blocking mode. I have also tried using non-blocking mode (DMA), but it is taking the same or more time.Could anyone help me understand if the HAL function is supposed to take 42 microseconds, or if there might be an issue with my implementation?Note: The M4 core is running a

To begin, I am using the vl53l8cx breakout board from Pololu with a Nucleo-F446RE and PlatformIO. I have been having trouble getting the VL53L8CX to start ranging using the SPI2 interface. I get successful responses from the `_is_alive()` and `_init()` methods, but find that I get an error status of 1 from the call to `vl53l8cx_dci_read_data()` within the `_start_ranging()` method. Subsequently, a few lines down, `_start_ranging()` errors out with VL53L8CX_STATUS_ERROR.I tried following @RJRP 's solution here, but it didn't solve my problem.I have jumper wires from the Nucleo-F446RE to a breadboard. The wires are possibly too long, ~12cm in length. For clarity, the lines in question:/* Read ui range data content and compare if data size is the correct one */// This gives status = 1status |= vl53l8cx_dci_read_data(p_dev, (uint8_t*)p_dev->temp_buffer, 0x5440, 12);// This gives status = 255(void)memcpy(&tmp, &(p_dev->temp_buffer[0x8]), sizeof(tmp));if(tmp != p_dev->data_re

Dear Sir We use M95M01-DWDW3TP/K EEPROM in device to store log dataIf power is cut off during its write cycle,  the data in writing address will become corrupted as I known. In other hand, will other data, which was successfully written in other address, become correpted? What I am concerned about is the impact to other existing data, when power cut off in the data writing process For an expample, there are "address A" (successfully written) , "address B" (will written log data in it), "address C".(successfully written) .If power was cut off when writing data into address B, is the content in address A and C corrupted too or not?    Waiting for your replyRegards

Hello, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? For example, I can't get app_mems.c (eCompass) to debug. The debugger does not stop when I set a breakpoint on subsequent function calls because, for whatever reason, the “SensorReadRequest” always has the value 0.:RTC_Handler(&msg_dat);Accelero_Sensor_Handler(&msg_dat);Gyro_Sensor_Handler(&msg_dat);Magneto_Sensor_Handler(&msg_dat);Humidity_Sensor_Handler(&msg_dat);Temperature_Sensor_Handler(&msg_dat);Pressure_Sensor_Handler(&msg_dat); I also need direct access to the variable “heading”.

Hi, The correspondence between friend nodes and LPNs in the ST official website description states that a friend node can connect up to 6 LPNs at most. Other chips can connect more LPN nodes with one friend node. Has ST optimized in this area?Thanks,DL_Weng

GreetingsI am trying to use 2 UART interfaces on the STM32L4xx series and echo what's received on 1 interface. I am receiving strings of unknown length on UART1 using the DMA and echo-ing it with the virtual com port (UART2). I intend on using receiving one byte at a time and using the HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA() function, and be notified via the ISR HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback() function, when the UART1-reception is completed because UART1 will be idle, and I can form the array of bytes received and transmit it via UART2. However, HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback() only fires for each byte received. The brief of the function says it will fire when the uart line is idle.I have also tried to use the HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback() function to notify me that reception is complete, but it never fires. What am I doing wrong? My code is as follows #define UART_RX_BUFFER_SIZE 1 uint8_t UART1_RxBuffer[UART_RX_BUFFER_SIZE] = {0}; uint16_t RxDataLen = 0; uint16

Hi everyone,I am working with the STM32WLE and would like to use the internal SubGHz module directly without relying on any middleware, such as LoRaWAN. My goal is to control the SubGHz module in a simple way, similar to an external RF module like the SX1276 or RFM69.Goals:Initialize the SubGHz module manually.Transmit and receive data using low-level functions such as SUBGHZSPI_Transmit or HAL_SUBGHZ_ExecSetCmd.Use the SubGHz module with LL (Low Layer) or HAL functions only, without middleware or additional libraries.Questions:How can I correctly initialize the SubGHz module to use it for basic RF communication, such as FSK?Is there a way to create a lightweight API that uses only HAL or LL for SubGHz communication? Are there examples or documentation available for configuring and using the SubGHz module as a simple RF transceiver, including setting frequency, configuring registers, and handling RX/TX?What I’m Looking For: I want to operate the SubGHz module as if it were a standalone

Hi,I am working on USB Device Middleware on STM32F469NI using STM32CubeMX. For our use case we have to modify the PRODUCT_STRING descriptor value (default is "STM32 Virtual ComPort"). Is it recommended to perform this, or are there any STM standards for these values? Thanks,Himanshu

Hi, I have created task 1 and created 2 software timer (periodic, one shot) works fine . When I created one more timer non of the timers are not working. What might be the issue?  Regards, Raj

Dear ST Community member,I hope you all are doing well.We are using STM32G473VET6 and IMP34DT05TR for Audio acquisition. The PDM Microphone needs a 2 MHz clock signal to operate properly. However, we are getting an error after configuring PLLQ at 2 MHz for SAI. Please let us know how to fix it. Thanks! best regards,Neeraj

Hello together, I have a question regarding the configuration of the HSE. We have a product which is running on a crystal, so we configured our HSE as "Crystal/Ceramic Resonator". In a new hardware revision our hardware team decided to use a active oscillator. So we would have to configure our HSE as "BYPASS clock source". So far eveything is clear. So just imagine: - v1.0 running on cystal - v2.0 or greater runs on cystal or oscillator depending on hardware revisionSo if a customer has a new hardware with oscillator but a very old version of the update application. Then he downgrades the product to v1.0. Meaning the hardware with oscillator runs now configured as "Cystal/Ceramic Resonator". We see that the MCU (STM32H750) starts correct but: - Is this maybe a problem in the long run as the signal is way stronger that this from a cystal?- Can this cause clocking issues due to the different waveform (cystal sine wave, oscillator rectangle)? The problem is, we can preve

Hello,I am new to STM32WB series. I have designed my custom board, but I can not upload the program. I am using ST link on  STM32F4 Discovery board but I sees "Target no device found".  Please confirm if we can use Stink on STM32F4 Discovery board to upload the program or not.  Thanks

Hello,in the Datasheet of the STPM32 the accuracy of the active power is 0,1% error over 500:1 dynamic range. Is this the best case error or the maximum error of the enerqy measurement after calibration? What does the dynamic range of 5000:1 mean?

Hello,  I would like to run HeartRateThreadX with Nucleo-WBA55CG, with Debug features that I can stop the code anytime from STM32CubeIDE. What I have tried(but not succeeded):  + Change Core/Inc/app_conf.h line 231 from 2 to 0(CFG_LPM_LEVEL).  + Disable "Debug in low power mode" from Debug Configuration -> Debugger -> Device Settings -> Debug in low power modes.  + Tried to "Full Chip Erase" by using STM32CubeProgrammer  + From STM32CubeMX, enable "Debug" feature with "Serial Wire".  Neither of them get rid of the failure "Target is not responding, retrying...":  STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. New question from: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/qspi-master-and-slave/td-p/758418 I have a AD5668 DAC which supports QSPI upto 50Mhz frequency. I am trying to test the DAC with STM32 using QSPI . But I am not able to see DAC output. So I thought to debug it with two Microcontrollers like how we do with SPI.  This is my code // Function to send data to AD5668 DAC in the specified format void AD5668_SendCommand(uint8_t command, uint8_t channel, uint16_t voltage) { uint8_t commandData[4]; QSPI_CommandTypeDef sCommand = {0}; HAL_StatusTypeDef status; // QSPI command configuration sCommand.InstructionMode = QSPI_INSTRUCTION_1_LINE; sCommand.AddressMode = QSPI_ADDRESS_NONE; sCommand.DataMode = QSPI_DATA_1_LINE; sCommand.DummyCycles = 0; commandData[0] = command; // Command byte (e.g., 0x03) commandData[1] = channel; // Channel byte (e.g., 0x0F) commandData[2] = (voltage >> ‌‌ & 0xFF; // MSB of voltage commandData[3] = voltage & 0xFF; //
