I have an STM32L452 rigged to use an external clock so we can keep the RTC running. Schematic attached.X2 is a clock from SiTime, programmed to be 32.768kHz. C36 is a supercap acting as battery backup. I used STMCube to generate the startup code to feed into HAL_RCC_OscConfig. When I debug into this function, the LSE never becomes ready (RCC_BDCR_LSERDY bit always zero), and so the code returns HAL_TIMEOUT.Do I have the correct circuit? Have I set the clock config correctly? It's the same if I run on a Nucleo board./** Initializes the RCC Oscillators according to the specified parameters* in the RCC_OscInitTypeDef structure.*/RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSI|RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_LSE;RCC_OscInitStruct.LSEState = RCC_LSE_ON;RCC_OscInitStruct.HSIState = RCC_HSI_ON;RCC_OscInitStruct.HSICalibrationValue = RCC_HSICALIBRATION_DEFAULT;RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLState = RCC_PLL_ON;RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLSource = RCC_PLLSOURCE_HSI;RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLM = 2;RCC_OscInit

I have lis2dwt12 sensor and nrf24l01+ sensor. Can i connect these devices on same spi line? i will select different CS pins.Thank you for now.

Hi, Currently we have received our first prototype batch of board with the STM32H7S7Z8J6. There is external flash and ram on the board also, but first we want to try a simple test where we will just use the LTDC interface without touchgfx to make the screen 1 color so we can check this functionality. But it seems like the LTDC interface wont start properly. We can't see any signal on the clock line, Hsync or Vsync lines. Also none of the RGB666 lines is showing any kind of acitvity.  Below is our simple init firmware. What could be the cause of this issue?   /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2025 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root

It only gives the bit and the description: Bit 22 HDRXGNEQEN: Enable HS Rx gain equalizer 0: Disable the gain equalizer 1: Enable the gain equalizer  But what does it actually do? When would you want to use it? Thanks

Hi Everyone,It was recently recommended to me that I enable DMA2D on my project to possibly alleviate another problem that I'm having detailed here (Weird horizontal artifacts in touchGFX buttons - STMicroelectronics Community). My question is, how do I properly set it up? I've read several documents on the DMA2D including How to use Chrom-ART Accelerator to refresh an LCD-TFT display on STM32 MCUs - Application note and 8. Hardware acceleration | TouchGFX Documentation but I'm left scratching my head.If I simple enable DMA2D in MX with my current project without making any code changes like this : Then I get weird distortions on some of my text:I'm also confused as to how I should be changing my code to take full advantage of the DMA2D. In My Mind, my flushFrameBuffer function which looks like this right now void TouchGFXHAL::flushFrameBuffer(const touchgfx::Rect& rect){uint16_t* frameBuffer = getTFTFrameBuffer();setLCDwindow(rect.x, rect.y, rect.widt

Hi,I am using STM32H563ZI to design a new product, there is a SDRAM(W9825G6KH-6) connected to the MCU with 16bit width bus. The SDCLK is 125MHz while the MCU running at 250MHz.  The read and write to SDRAM address space are both OK. But the read write performance is extremely slow, roughly 11MB/s for read and 14MB/s for write. I had configured the MPU and I-Cache/D-cache, The speed is unsatisfied and unbelievable because I had a board with STM32H750 and the same SDRAM (SDCLK running at 100MHz, 16bit bus width), both read and write speed are around 100MB/s with cache on. Could anyone give me some hints?

Hello!I'm using an STM32u5a9 with a user interface and SMBus enabled battery and charger board.CubeMX does not allow me to include both the X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX and X-CUBE-SMBUS libraries. I'm guessing there is some conflict with the I2C or how the HAL handles it?  if I choose X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX first then try to choose X-CUBE-SMBus, CubeMX reports "This component cannot be selected: this application cannot be selected while the application from pack STMicrolectronics.X-CUBE-Touchgfx is selected": I'm wondering is there a way to get around this and use both libraries? It's my first time working with SMBus but I should also be able to configure an i2c bus separate from the one used for touchgfx to handle the smbus communication just without the HAL. Appreciate anyone's input! Thank you!

Hello, I would like to know how to install CubeMX and in which directory should I install it so that STM32CubeIDE can recognize it ? Thank you

Hi,not really an issue here, but I want to understand what goes on in my BLE project.I'm using the B-WB1M-WPAN board, starting out from the BLE_HR_p2pSensor example.I see that my device stops advertising after I connect to it, but I can't find in the code where that happens.I discovered that the functions:Adv_Request (through api_gap_set_discoverable)Adv_Cancel (through api_gap_set_non_discoverable)Are used to start and stop advertising.I also noticed that Adv_Cancel is registered as callback for a task here:   UTIL_SEQ_RegTask(1<<CFG_TASK_ADV_CANCEL_ID, UTIL_SEQ_RFU, Adv_Cancel);  But it seems that Adv_Cancel is never called nor CFG_TSK_ADV_CANCEL_ID is used in a UTIL_SEQ_SetTask call... Nonetheless, by sniffing BLE traffic I see that after a connection my peripheral stops advertising.I tried to look into guides and application notes but I can't find any explanation for this behaviour, can you please help me?

Hi,What are the different power saving mode for STM32H753 with there current consumption. What are the active functions in each mode?

Hello STM Community,I am designing an internal PCB antenna for LoRa communication using the STM32WL55JCI7 at EU868 frequency. Is a PCB antenna recommended by STM for this chip? If so, what guidelines or procedures should I follow for designing a PCB antenna for LoRa communication? Additionally, what range can I expect with an optimized PCB antenna design?Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!

HiI download the newest STSW-ST25RFAL 4.0.0 and try to update my project from STSW-ST25RFAL 3.0.0. In rfal_nfc.c is a new function platformTimerGetRemaining( ) used.I can't find a sample implementation because STSW-ST25R_1.7.0 is still with 3.0.0.Where can I get  an updated timer.h, timer.c?

The STM32MP257 is connected to an SSD via the PCIe interface. I should How to configure the device tree or relevant Linux drivers to access the hard drive?my PCIe DT reference :PCIe 内部外设 - stm32mpu

we are using the microcontroller stm32h503rbt6 & the IDE is STM32CubeIDE. We would like to configure DMA for I2C1 however when we go to the settings of GPDMA1/GPDMA2 then a warning(attached herewith) appears which disallows us to configure the DMA. So please suggest as to how to configure DMA for I2C1 communication

I have just started using TouchGFX on an Stm32H7A3ZIQ Nucleo board. I managed to setup the LTDC correctly and am able to change the color of the screen, which makes me assume that the LTDC is setup correctly. After setting up TouchGFX with FreeRTOS, following the documentation, I keep getting stuck at a blackscreen.I have configured touchgfx the following way:Following the docs, I have enabled FreeRTOS, set the heap size to 70 000 Bytes and added the following task:I have enabled the LTDC interrupt to ensure that the LTDC vsync signal drives touchgfx: and added the following line to main.c after the LTDC configuration:LTDC->IER |= LTDC_IER_LIE;as well as the line to the interrupt handler:void LTDC_IRQHandler(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN LTDC_IRQn 0 */ /* USER CODE END LTDC_IRQn 0 */ HAL_LTDC_IRQHandler(&hltdc); /* USER CODE BEGIN LTDC_IRQn 1 */ HAL_LTDC_ProgramLineEvent(&hltdc, 0); /* USER CODE END LTDC_IRQn 1 */ }In TouchGFX designer I have created a very simple sc

Hi,I have NUCLEO-F411RE and NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q boards. When trying to implement a sine curve with PWM and a low-pass filter I stumbled into problems with HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA.I store the precomputed sine data in an array and call HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA. ... BEGIN: pseudo codeuint16_t pwmData[PWM_SAMPLES];compute_sine_data(pwmData);HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA(&htimX, TIM_CHANNEL_1, (uint32_t *) pwmData, PWM_SAMPLES);... END: pseudo codeIt works fine on STM32F4, but I noticed only half of the data is present on the STMU575. Apparently HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA has different semantics on the 2 MCUs. On STM32F4 the length seems to be with respect to Data Width in the timers DMA setting, and on STM32U575 it seems to be measured in bytes (regardless of the GPDMA settings).In short:STM32F4: HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA(&htimX, TIM_CHANNEL_1, (uint32_t *) pwmData, PWM_SAMPLES);STM32U5: HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA(&htimX, TIM_CHANNEL_1, (uint32_t *) pwmData, 2*PWM_SAMPLES);

Hi,I looked everywhere including the MCU Finder App and there does not seem to be any dev kit with DSI display that has a DSI example project that uses CubeMX .IOC configuration.Surely there must be at least one...?Could someone please point me in the right direction. :folded_hands:Thank you :)

Hi,when the STM32MP257F cores are running a regular Linux: how can I start some code on the M33 core? Is there a device/interface available within Linux that allows to send some code to this core and execute it? Or do they share some memory? So how is it working practically? Thanks :)

I have the 8S105C based Discovery. I'm new to STM, but been writing NXP 9S08 assembler >20 yrs. Customer has 2 products using 9S08PA4, but needs them ported to STM8S. Both are pure assembler - I wrote them and now must port. Best of worlds would illustrate ADC, Timer and PWM aspects, but I'd be happy with just some simple GPIO and the framework to assemble, download and debug. I've looked and see all kinds of C, but only an ST7 asm example - enough different to not seem practical. Thanks in advance, Kevin (66yo newby)

Hello, I am trying to read from the ADC of an STM32H750VBT6 on a custom PCB at 16 bits and am getting a constant value of 32768 when sending data over USB. When factors like the number of bits is changed, the value also changes to be around half the max value even if the ADC input is re-connected to ground. I measured Vref and it is at 3.3V and I had a voltage divider circuit with 1.6 V going directly to the analog pin. Could there be an issue with the settings or how the ADC is being initialized?

Hi All,I am struggling with that the maximum DMA buffer size is 64KB. I am currently transferring the data from an ADC to the Buffer using DMA with circular buffering, but I would want the buffer to be around 200KB. I have heard that one can use MDMA to transfer the DMA buffer information to a bigger buffer. I have never used MDMA before, and there is little information online about how to use it in CubeIDE. If someone can help me to configure the MDMA/DMA to do this, and what functions to use it would be very helpful!Best regards,Elso

Hi Team, I am a complete beginner. I am working on a project using STM32F429 DISC1 to drive an external LCD using LTDC (parallel RGB interface) using the ST7789H2 driver. Currently, I have a working code for running the LCD that comes with the discovery board using the ILI9341 driver. How can I port this code to work with an external LCD using ST7789H2 with the same interface?(RGB parallel). Thanks

Hello all, Does anyone have or know how to create BDSL file for STM32H563IGK6 ? Thanks,
