I'm trying to read a .JPG image file from my SD Card (FATFS) and want to use LIBJPEG for decoding it. Everything seems to be fine until I execute the **jpeg_start_decompress()** function. As soon as this ifunction is executed a UsageFault is generated on the MCU, does anyone know why would this be happening? Here is my code for loading the jpg image: void read_JPG_image(FIL* _fptr, uint32_t _width, uint8_t* buff){JSAMPROW buffer[2] = {0};uint32_t row_stride = 0; buffer[0] = buff; cinfo.err = jpeg_std_error(&jerr); jpeg_create_decompress(&cinfo); jpeg_stdio_src(&cinfo, _fptr); jpeg_read_header(&cinfo, TRUE); cinfo.dct_method = JDCT_FLOAT; jpeg_start_decompress(&cinfo); row_stride = _width * 3; while (cinfo.output_scanline < cinfo.output_height){(void) jpeg_read_scanlines(&cinfo, buffer, 1); // put_scanline_someplace;}jpeg_finish_decompress(&cinfo); jpeg_destroy_decompress(&cinfo); f_close(

I'm a software developer and love electronics, specifically making metal detectors. I'm trying to develop a new Pulse Induction metal detector and I'm using this development board (STM32F407VET6).Although I'm a software developer, I work with high level programming languages like Javascript and Python, so programming in plain C (register manipulation) is not easy for me, but I want to learn, so, I'm building the code with the help of AI (ChatGpt). The code below is supposed to generate 2 pulses with PWM inside a 1ms pulse period. One pulse is 100us (or the metal detector TX pulse) generated to PE13 and another is 500us (for the metal detector power supply charge pump) generated to PA8.I tested the pulse generation with an oscilloscope 100uS/Div and the first pulse is correct (100us) but it appears one time at the start and another at the end of the and it should appear only one time at the start of the period. I tried everything with the IA but I can't solve this problem and don't under

Hey everyone :waving_hand:,After installing STM32CubeIDE, I encountered the following warning:"This peripheral has no parameter to be configured"At first, I thought it was an error — but after doing some research, I realized it's probably nothing serious. However, to be sure, I tried everything I could:Reinstalled STM32CubeIDEChanged system settingsUpdated all available packages and toolsDespite all of this, the warning still appears whenever I configure certain peripherals. Can someone help me understand if this is normal behavior? Should I ignore it, or is there a proper way to fix or suppress this warning?Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am Driving an AMOLED display (GRAM) with QSPI.In blocking mode everythings works fine, but now I trying to "update" it using GPDMA, nothing works. Any advices ?So in blocking mode I used the typical : OSPI_RegularCmdTypeDef sCommand = {0}; sCommand.OperationType = HAL_OSPI_OPTYPE_COMMON_CFG;   sCommand.Instruction = 0x02; sCommand.InstructionMode = HAL_OSPI_INSTRUCTION_1_LINE; sCommand.InstructionSize = HAL_OSPI_INSTRUCTION_8_BITS;   sCommand.Address = address<<8; sCommand.AddressMode = HAL_OSPI_ADDRESS_1_LINE; sCommand.AddressSize = HAL_OSPI_ADDRESS_24_BITS;       sCommand.AlternateBytesMode = HAL_OSPI_ALTERNATE_BYTES_NONE;   sCommand.DataMode = HAL_OSPI_DATA_1_LINE; sCommand.NbData = nbOfData; sCommand.DQSMode = HAL_OSPI_DQS_DISABLE; sCommand.SIOOMode = HAL_OSPI_SIOO_INST_ONLY_FIRST_CMD;   sCommand.DummyCycles = 0;   HAL_OSPI_Command(&hospi1, &sCommand, 1000); HAL_OSPI_Transmit(&hospi1, param, 1

Hi All, I need to obtain an artifact with the name present in some costant in "main.h". In other words, my project is called "TestProject" and main.h I have these costants: #define GUI_MAJOR_VER 0 // Major #define GUI_MINOR_VER 1 // Minor #define GUI_RELEASE_VER 3 // Release I would like to ahve a final executable named "TestProject v013.hex" This means that every time I will change the #defines in main.h, output file will change automatically with a new numeration. Does someone has some suggestion? or better, an example? thanks in advance for your help.

I'm working on a project that will be using shared code files from outside the project.  I do not want to copy them, instead I want to link to them.  I discovered how to do this and it works well.  Since I don't want to make any changes to any of the linked files, I would like for the IDE to somehow make easy for me to know that the file I am currently viewing is a linked file.  I have not been able to find a way to do this with CubeIDE.  Does anyone know of a way?  Thanks

I have a problem with identifying the sensor type from the marking on the housing. One is LSM6DSO32XTR and the other is ASM330LHHXTR. Unfortunately they came in a bag without a description on the label. One is marked T3 [QR code] 233 and the other LC [QR code] 307.Is there a way to identify them without attaching them to the board? Unfortunately the datasheet did not help. Thanks

Hi everyone,I plan to build 0-60 volt 30 Amps adjustable (menu driven) lab power supply both ac and dc(battery) inputI'm new at st mcu and need some advise about choosing right device both controller and user interface.thanks inadvance.

Hello,For my project Im checking on a data request by using DMA and UART Idle interrupt. After a few minutes my while loop just stops executing. The code keeps executing the USART1_IRQHandler and doesn't return to the main code anymore. If Im not using DMA this doesn't happen. Does anyone know how this happens and if it can be fixed?Here a few code snippets:static void MX_USART1_UART_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN USART1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END USART1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE BEGIN USART1_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END USART1_Init 1 */ huart1.Instance = USART1; huart1.Init.BaudRate = 230400; huart1.Init.WordLength = UART_WORDLENGTH_8B; huart1.Init.StopBits = UART_STOPBITS_1; huart1.Init.Parity = UART_PARITY_NONE; huart1.Init.Mode = UART_MODE_TX_RX; huart1.Init.HwFlowCtl = UART_HWCONTROL_NONE; huart1.Init.OverSampling = UART_OVERSAMPLING_16; huart1.Init.OneBitSampling = UART_ONE_BIT_SAMPLE_DISABLE; huart1.AdvancedInit.AdvFeatureInit = UART_ADVFEATURE_NO_INIT; if (HAL_RS485Ex_Init

I want all versions of cube ide and cube mx. can you please provide the links of that.

I am using STM32F407VG in my project temporarily. The objective is to transmit audio data over ethernet which is received in this mic and received audio from the other end this side having stm32 as the MCU.  For Mic, I am using SPH0645. But I am unable to sample the audio correctly. I am facing the same issue as in the following link. https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/unexpected-behaviors-in-dma-buffer-for-i2s-mems-microphone/td-p/725679my_code:uint16_t data_in[100] = { 0 };volatile int16_t sample_i2s;void HAL_I2S_RxCpltCallback(I2S_HandleTypeDef *hi2s) {sample_i2s = data_in[0];}int main(void){/* USER CODE BEGIN 1 *//* USER CODE END 1 *//* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*//* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */HAL_Init();/* USER CODE BEGIN Init *//* USER CODE END Init *//* Configure the system clock */SystemClock_Config();/* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit *//* USER CODE END SysInit *//*

Hello,I am currently evaluating STM32s for use in professional developments.I'm going to substitute them for Microchip's AVR DB family microcontrollers.I still have one point to evaluate: is there an EEPROM built into the STM32s that allows parameters to be saved? Thanks for your clarifications

Hi All, 1 - HAL_QSPI_MODULE_ENABLED is defined and the shaded code areas are combiled. But I could not find why these codes seems shaded, do you ?2, 3 - I can see file icon on the top left corner of the stm32h7xx_hal_conf.h file name and context menu shows absoulte path when mouse over while other files path seems relative to project directory. Do you know why ?Regards.

Hi, while using the SVD (Version 1.8 - but in the 1.9 zip this file still states 1.8) for the H743 I noticed some errors and have patched them for my code generation. Some of them caused me trouble for hours until I noticed that the SVD and the RM did not agree.I'll attach the patches here. I tried to attach the patches here, but .patch is not accepted, renaming it to txt still fails...Fixes for the CAN module: https://pastebin.com/1X0v7iS4Fixes for the TIMER module: https://pastebin.com/rTEP4M3WFixes for the ADC module: https://pastebin.com/ED99CUTBFix for one TIMER interrupt: https://pastebin.com/cvnEj1MW

@STTwo-32, I also noticed issues in the EXTI.Sample:stm32h7s7xx.h,   &(EXTI->PR1) == 0x58000088STM32H7S.svd, &(EXTI->PR1) == 0x58000020When should we expect the upcoming release (in 2 month?)?Also, are there public script which validate that stm32*.h and .SVD do match?

i am working on LIN protocol and i am looking for a LIN Library that works on stm32 I am using stm32L476RG

Hi, I am using stdatalog-pysdk on a Raspberry PI with Raspberry OS to acquire some data on STEVAL-STWINBX1 and send them to the cloud. I wrote a script in python that sends a number of messages and in every message I start the SensorAcquisitionThread() defined in the HSDLink library. However, when I close the comunication using hsd_link.stop_log() function, the program crashes and continuous printing errors as shown in the following picture:   I noticed this problems seems related to the lib_usb library closing procedure after an acquisition. I found that some other users in GitHub have similar issues, but now I'm stucked on a work project in which I use both Raspberry and STwin.box. Do you have any idea when the new version that fixes this bug might be released? Do you know if this issue is related to only Raspberry 4 or to only Raspberry PI OS? Do you think that with Raspberry Pi 5 and Ubuntu the library will works correctly? Thank you! UPDATE: also tried on

The problem only happens when a constant stream of data is being send to the UART. When I update my firmware sometimes DMA won't work. It is hard to debug when it only happens when updating and not every time. This post is exactly the same issue as mine: DMA issue post In the first image below are the registers when DMA won't work. The second image are the registers when DMA is working correctly.I looked at every register and tried manually resetting and staring the DMA, but still sometimes after an update DMA won't work. I can;t find the source of why this happens and why it won't work even when I hardware reset the controller. I looked at the HAL datasheet and validated the steps needed for DMA. I'm really out of option. If someone has an idea on what to check or knows a solution (maybe don't use DMA but interrupt?).problem no problem UART/DMA init hdma_uart5_rx.Instance = DMA1_Stream0; hdma_uart5_rx.Init.Channel = DMA_CHANNEL_4; hdma_uart5_rx.Init.Dir

Hello, Good Morning Can i design SMPS using HVLED007 which should work on universal input and should provide 24v 2amp at its output it is PFC too. The most challenging part is to calculate and wind flyback transformer. I've some transformer bobbins and cores with me but dont have complete data i have calculated data manually like MPL,AE etc. but still some data is unknown like core material. Is there any SMPS application note for this.

Hello everyone, I'm currently using the STM32H745BIT6 microcontroller and I'm having difficulty configuring the system so that the M7 core can use internal memory (Internal RAM/Flash) to store data from TouchGFX. I would like to avoid using any external memory (external RAM or Flash). I'm not sure how to properly configure this. I would greatly appreciate any support or guidance. Thank you !

hello, how can i know the first pin of STM32H750VBT6 chip for proper connection on board

Dear Gfx Team,Could you please add a 'Clone' option when right click on a Typography ?Newly created Typography is then a carbon copy of the original. Thank you.

I created my first UI using the TouchGFX software but after when I opened the file in CubeIDE, Build the project and try to Debug it. I am getting this IssueIam New to STM32. Can someone help me?I used this youtube video from ST as reference(2194) How to TouchGFX: Creating my first GUI with TouchGFX Designer for STM32 GUI applications - YouTube

Hi all,For my GUI I need several circle and box progress widgets in different sizes that have a transparent background, e.g. only showing the actual progress "line" and nothing else. So far I achieved this by simply choosing a transparent PNG as background image and that works fine. However, due to the many widgets and sizes I use quite a lot of transparent PNGs which start to add up in flash size.Having PNGs using space for practically not displaying anything feels wrong, but It seems like the progress widgets only can take images as backgrounds and actually do need an image (there is obvious option to leave it blank). Is there a more flash space efficient way to achieve circle progress and boxes with transparent (or no) background? Thanks in advance!Sascha
