Hi there,I am using the full featured USART in LIN mode. The start of a LIN packet is signaled by a BREAK condition. The next byte is the SYNC (0x55). After the BREAK is detected, I enable the receiver timeout so that if the SYNC (0x55) is not received then the LIN reception must restart. This does not happen, i.e. after a BREAK with no other bytes, it does not generate a receive timeout.According to the RM, the receiver timeout starts after a valid STOP. So is the end of a BREAK not considered a valid STOP and therefore the receive timeout does not start?Thanks in advance,Pieterhttps://piconomix.com

Hello everyone,I’m working on a project where I am using STM32F407 and I’m trying to establish USB communication between my STM32F407 Discovery board and a PC. I have configured the board for USB_OTG_FS in STM32CubeMX, and I’m trying to use it as a Virtual COM Port (VCP). However, when I connect the board to the PC using the USB_FS port, it’s not being recognized as a COM port or any device at all in the Device Manager.I want to read the output of the ADC channels using the hercules software I would really appreciate any suggestions or guidance on:Getting the board to show up as a VCP in the Device Manager.Troubleshooting USB enumeration issues.

The Toolchain Manager takes 5–10 minutes to load the toolchain list, even with only a few installed.It happens every first time I open it after launching the IDE.If I close it and reopen it during the same session, it loads instantly.But if I restart the IDE, the delay returns.Is this normal behavior?If so, is there anything that can be done to speed it up?STM32CubeIDEVersion: 1.18.1Build: 24813_20250409_2138 (UTC)

Hi STM Community,I'm developing a custom LoRa-based board using the STM32WL55CC MCU, migrated from the STM32WL55JC, and referencing the MB138 STM32WL Nucleo-64 board as a design guide.I've attached a portion of my schematic (generated in KiCad), and I would appreciate if the community could help review the following:Schematic and power supply arrangementPin configuration and peripheral mappingRadio signal path integrityCompatibility or functional issues that may arise due to migrating from STM32WL55JC to STM32WL55CCGeneral layout or connection concerns for RF and MCU sectionsS

Hello STM32 Community,I'm working on a custom board based on the MB1389 (Nucleo-WL55JC) reference design, which uses the STM32WL55JC17 (UFBGA) package. Now, I am migrating to the STM32WL55CC in the UFQFPN package for cost and space reasons.While adapting the schematic, I noticed the following pins from the original design are not available in the UFQFPN package:PC3PC4PC5PB14PB1VSSRFVREF+I understand that the pin count is reduced in the UFQFPN package, but I need guidance on the following:Are there any internal remapping or alternative GPIOs for the above functions in the STM32WL55CC UFQFPN package?How should I handle VSSRF and VREF+, since they are critical for RF and analog operations? Can they be connected internally, or do they need external routing?Any advice or reference designs (for UFQFPN-based layouts) that clarify how to proceed with features that originally used those missing pins?For reference, I am attaching a snippet of my schematic based on MB1389, where these pins are cu

Hi, there's something confusing in the schematic for the H755 Nucleo's reference PCB schematic (MB1363).I don't mind adding that I'm getting a bit tired of confusing and contradictory documentation from ST Micro.The description of changes when configuring PSU config modes 2 and 3 are as below:In the highlighted note at lower left it says that to enable Config 3: "Connect VDD_SMPS_IND_OUT to VDD_LDO".However, looking just above at Config 2 it seems clear that VDD_SMPS_IND_OUT is already connected to VDD_LDO via the node 1V2_MCU which is always connected to both VDD_LDO and VDD_SMPS_IND_OUT.Can somebody from please confirm how this should work?My understanding is that the two modes can be summarised as follows (ignoring some capacitor changes):Mode 2VDD_LDO == VDD_SMPS_IND_OUTVDBSD == VCAPMode 3VDD_LDO == VDD_SMPS_IND_OUTVFBSD == VDD_LDOI need a quick answer please because I've a PCB layout needing to go to manufacture.Thanks

Hello,  I logged data using the STEVAL-STWINKT1 (flashed with DATALOG2_Release.bin) by connecting the sensor to the iOS app ST BLE Sensor. Then, I used the Python notebook "nb_stdatalog_converters.ipynb" to convert the .dat files to .csv. However, for some sensors, I can't retrieve the dataframe, and I get the following errors:   Error: No [iis3dwb_acc] sensor available in your selected acquisition folder. Please check the sensor name and try again. Error extracting data from C:\Users\...\iis3dwb_acc.dat file. Missing packets revealed, data corrupted.   Do you know why this problem occurs, or is the data actually corrupted? I've noticed that the error occurs when processing large files—specifically, data from sensors ism330dhcx_acc, imp23absu_mic, and imp34dt05_mic, which exceed 129,000 KB. This might be related to the issue. If you'd like to reproduce the problem, the code is provided below, and you can download my .dat files via this WeTransfer link : https://we.

Hello,I noticed in the document RM0368 (Rev 6) for F401RE the SPI Register map (Table 93 page 611) is missing the SPI_CR2 register.I came across this topic, created in 2021 and now closed :https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/error-in-rm0368-reference-manual-spi-register-map-or-i-miss/m-p/225332This topic was about Rev 5, and the problem should have been fixed in Rev 6. Is my Rev 6 a too old document and it was patched in later revisions or is it still in the latest revisions as it appears that REV 6 is the latest version of RM0368 according to the F401RE product page :https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-microprocessors/stm32f401re.html#documentationMatt

Hello,I have purchased the "STEVAL-25R200SA – Discovery Kit for the ST25R200 high-performance NFC device" and attempted to run the sample application STSW-ST25R020 (Firmware for STEVAL-25R200 kit) available on the portal.I was able to build and flash the code successfully; however, the reader is unable to detect the tag when it is presented. Additionally, I do not see any output (Even with USE_LOGGER=LOGGER_ON) on the Tera Term terminal.Interestingly, when I use the same firmware along with the ST25R200 Eval GUI PC application, the reader appears to wake up, detect tags, and return to sleep mode as expected but no output on the Tera Term terminal.Could anyone assist me in identifying the issue and provide guidance on how to resolve it? Thanks & Regards,Tanuj

Dear Support,Good day.What is the meaning of the suffix that indicated on the label itself for the second line part no.?Is it because of the COO that makes the suffix different? Or it’s just the internal code for STMIC?

Hi,I have to use the transceiver for pure RF communications and implement my own protocole.After checking several boards, I've be recommended the P-NUCLEO-WB55 but from all the doc and example I find, the transceiver is used for BlueTooth communications, which I don't need at all.Is it possible to use its transceiver RF without BLE, Zigbee, etc... as a simple 2.4Ghz range transmitter and receiver?If not, which MCU should I get, that includes a dev board offering AD, DA and pure RF ?Thanks for any light. Steve

Hi everyone, I'm trying to generate a sine wave using PWM output updated by GPDMA transfer on an STM32H5 device. I'm following this tutorial:STM32 Change PWM Duty Cycle With DMA For Sine Wave Generation However, when I try to implement it with STM32H5 (which uses GPDMA instead of classical DMA), I can't get any output at all or get the PWM to update properly. Hello, I'm trying to use this nucleo board with the camera DCMI interface. This camera has operation condition between 2V8 and 3V1.Currently, I power the camera with a external source of 2.9V but the nucleo board is in 3V3.Is there a solution to power the MCU (but still have the st-link working) to 3V or 2V8? Thank you, Simon

the integrated circuit is mounted on an electronic board.I can't find any reference.Can you tell me what it does.Is there an equivalent? thanks.

Hello Experts,i am facing a similar issue on the STM32F407G discovery board. Is there any solution or a temporary fix for this iisue?https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubemx-mcus/re-freertos-semaphore-not-initialised-correctly-by-cubemx/td-p/780252 Changing the initial state of the semaphore to Depleted does nothing in the semaphore definition and creation:In freertos.c, inside the function MX_FREERTOS_Init(). i  think the second function parameter should be zero I am trying a simple GPIO interrupt to task signaling, but the task always takes a semaphore without the GPIO interrupt the first time. Hi,I'm looking at implementing USB on my the NUCLEO-64 STM32F303RE EVAL BRD, with of course the STM32F303RE microcontroller. I'm having issues understanding what alternate function is needed for the USB-DM and DP pins. In the datasheet https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32f303re.pdf Table 13 shows that the USB pins are "Additional Functions" on PA11/PA12. I'm not sure what that means? Additionally I'm used to going to Table 14 the alternate function table to see what AF is needed on those 2 pins for USB. However in Table 14 the USB_DM and USB_DP are no where to be found. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I have the following problem - I configured TIM2 of STM32H723 in Encoder Mode following all recommendations in the Reference Manual RM0468, chapter Encoder Interface Mode, p. 1694: • CC1S= 01 (TIMx_CCMR1 register, TI1FP1 mapped on TI1)• CC2S= 01 (TIMx_CCMR2 register, TI2FP2 mapped on TI2)• CC1P and CC1NP = ‘0’ (TIMx_CCER register, TI1FP1 noninverted, TI1FP1=TI1)• CC2P and CC2NP = ‘0’ (TIMx_CCER register, TI2FP2 noninverted, TI2FP2=TI2)• SMS= 011 (TIMx_SMCR register, both inputs are active on both rising and fallingedges)• CEN= 1 (TIMx_CR1 register, Counter is enabled) I also checked these settings in the TIM2 registers in debug mode with halting the micro and they were exactly as recommended. I checked the input quadrature signals - they are there. But still the TIM2 counter value stays 0 and does not change. Any ideas what I might be missing? Thanks a lot, Radek

Hi,I used to run my STM32F303RE at 72Mhz clock from a 8Mhz CMOS oscillator. . Timers8/1 operated at 72Mhz as well. That worked fine. I had to change the CMOS oscillator from 8 to 24Mhz.I tried two modifications, see attachment:a) I changed PLLMul from x9 to x3 and left PREDiv. at /1.b) I changed PREDiv to /3 and left PLLMul at x9.In both cases CubeIDE clocktree was fine with the setup, 72Mhz imput clock at Timers8/1.Eventually now the input clock of the timers is low by factor 9, it is 8Mhz. What did I miss?Thank you.CheersDetlef

Hi all.I have this piece of code: __HAL_RCC_CORDIC_CLK_ENABLE(); CORDIC->CSR |= CORDIC_CSR_NARGS; CORDIC->CSR |= (CORDIC_CSR_PRECISION_3 | CORDIC_CSR_PRECISION_2 | CORDIC_CSR_PRECISION_1 | CORDIC_CSR_PRECISION_0); CORDIC->CSR |= CORDIC_CSR_FUNC_1; // Phase function (atan2) int32_t a = 1000; int32_t b = 1000; CORDIC->WDATA = a; CORDIC->WDATA = b; volatile double result_from_hw = (double)CORDIC->RDATA / 2147483648.0 * 180.0; volatile double result_from_sw = ((atan2((double)a, (double)b)) / M_PI) * (180.0); __NOP(); __NOP(); __NOP();The result from SW is 45 (as expected).However the result from HW is 43.2.WHY??

Hello STM32 community,I'm relatively new to STM32 development and I'm currently working with the I3G4250D Gyro Sensor on the STM32F411e-Discovery board. I've been using the stm32f411e_discovery_gyroscope.c file provided by STM32Cube to interface with the sensor.I've managed to retrieve data from the sensor using the provided code snippet:BSP_GYRO_GetXYZ(Buffer2); Xval = Buffer2[0]; Yval = Buffer2[1]; Zval = Buffer2[2]; However, the output I'm getting seems to be raw data, and I'm not quite sure how to interpret it correctly. My understanding is that these values represent the raw sensor readings, but I'm unsure how to convert them into meaningful X, Y, and Z values.Could someone please provide guidance on how to properly interpret and convert these raw values into meaningful data? Additionally, if there are any specific calibration steps or formulas that need to be applied to obtain accurate results, I would greatly appreciate any insights on that as well.Thank you in advance for
