Posted on January 08, 2018 at 14:32Hello,in your first project we use a STM32F415ZGT without any problems. Then we switch to the smaller version STM32F415RGT in a new design. With the same source code we got some times a hard fault when die MCU is booting up.After two or three days of software and hardware bug finding and trying different versions of CubeMX and F4 firmware we find a solution to disable the Instruction Cache in CubeMX:After that your simple LED blink code runs fine without any hard fault.Errata sheet lists a bug in Revision ''A'' devices for the ART Accelerator: ART Accelerator prefetch queue instruction is not supported  DescriptionThe ART Accelerator prefetch queue instruction is not supported on revision A devices. This limitation does not prevent the ART Accelerator from using the cache enable/disablecapability and the selection of the number of wait states according to the system frequency.Workaround    Revision A devic

Posted on March 08, 2017 at 14:33Hi,I'm having problems with STM32 CubeMX (v4.19.0) during the setup of the ADC2 peripheral (may be a bug...).Even if the number of conversion is ONE, I have two different ranks both pointing to the same ADC channel (please refer to the attached screenshot).I looked into the ioc  and some lines don't convince me (I have only channel 4 active):'...ADC2.Channel-20\&sharpChannelRegularConversion=ADC_CHANNEL_4ADC2.Channel-4\&sharpChannelRegularConversion=ADC_CHANNEL_4ADC2.Channel-8\&sharpChannelRegularConversion=ADC_CHANNEL_4...'Is there any .ioc file cleaner that can fix this behavior? Thanks in advanceFlavio#cubemx-bug

Posted on January 11, 2018 at 18:31I am currently trying to generate a new project for Keil as a HS Custom HID device (eventually it will be composite with another class) and have been encountering enumeration issues.  The code builds, loads, and runs, but my USB bus analyzer shows a steady streams of chirps, resets, and suspends instead of enumeration.  If I modify the project with the CubeMX tool to use FS instead, the project does appear to enumerate properly so is there something else simple I may be missing here? Are there any standalone HS USB reference examples for the STM32F723e-disco, because I haven't found any yet in the F7 Cube library?#stm32f7-usb-device-hs

Posted on October 06, 2017 at 16:09Hi all,I am trying to implement the self-test function of the LIS3DSH, but the results I am getting do not agree with the numbers in the device datasheet. Here is my procedure:1) Set -/+2g range and 400 HZ ODR.2) Capture 20 samples in normal mode (ie ST2:1 = 00 in CTRL_REG5)3) Capture 20 samples with positive sign self test enabled (ie ST2:1=01)4) Compute the average difference between the 2 sets of samplesAccording to the datasheet the difference should be 140 mg for the X and Y axes and 590 mg for the Z-axes. However, I have run the self-test on 10 different boards with an LIS3DSH and for X and Y I get values between 175 and 220, while for the Z axis values between 500 and 620.The results look pretty consistent when the test is repeated on the same device, but there is quite a big variability from one device to the other. The datasheet does not specify any error margins for deciding whether the test has 'passed' or 'failed'. That makes it diff

Posted on January 15, 2018 at 06:07My code:public STReader LowLevel;LowLevel = new STReader(); boolean res = LowLevel.connect();java.util.List<byte[]> uidList; IEMVCard card = new IEMVCard(); while (true) { try { uidList = LowLevel.getTransceiveInterface().inventory(RFReaderInterface.InventoryMode.NFC_TYPE_4A); if (!uidList.isEmpty()) {System.out.println('Detected');break; }} catch (Throwable ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); return card; } }I trying it with different EMV cards by VISA.It works with some cards but not works with another ones - just not detects them.Otherwise, ST25R3911B Discovery.exe in Polling tab sees all these cards and they all are same type - ISO14443-A!Why so?P.S. You can just give me sample usage based on ST25R3911DISCOComm.dll instead of Java ST25 SDK

Posted on July 15, 2017 at 01:31I'm using CubeMX to generate the initial code for a custom board using an STM32L452. I've tried a couple of variations of settings, including using HAL for all the peripherals, and using a mix of HAL and LL.When I use HAL for the EXTI pins, Cube creates an interrupt handler that includes a line in it that calls a generic EXTI GPIO handler that in turn clears the interrupt flag. But when I have it use LL for the EXTI, it creates an empty interrupt handler with no calls to generic handlers, and no code to clear the interrupt flag.I know asking for it to make LL code is asking for it to make a slim set of code, but leaving out anything to clear that flag seems a bit too slim. I would think that without clearing that flag, once that interrupt happens, it will happen constantly over and over again.Shouldn't Cube have at least stuck in something simple to clear the interrupt?

Posted on June 19, 2017 at 07:34Hello, everybody. What is the maximum range one's achieved with CR95HF? I mean the proximity range. Is is possible to achieve 10cm and more with it? Could we achieve the better distance with ST95 for example?

Posted on June 23, 2017 at 14:16Hi good dayI am starting a research on RFID systems in high frequency and I want to make a simple design of a reader. I'm thinking of using the ST95HF or CR95HF chipset as both are reader / writer typeAny recommendations to consider the tag and the microcontroller for the host? I know that in both the most important is that they are compatible with the standard and the interface of communication, besides the memory which will depend on the application that wants to be given to the system, which in my case I want to orient it to a simple access controlHowever, the most important concern I have is how to program the reader chipset and the tag to perform a simple simulation once it has a design, to verify that it worksThank you for the help you can give me#cr95hf #reader #st95hf

Posted on November 15, 2017 at 10:10Hi everybody,I am using a ST95HF, with my STM32L071, to read NFC cards (tag type detection, UID..) and it works perfectly. Now I have to code a new mode in my program which consists of connecting my product with a phone with the P2P. Do you have some sample codes to understand how to implement it? My product (with the STM32 and ST95HF) will be the target while the smartphone will be the initiator.Best regards,aLouis#stm32l0 #st95hf

Posted on February 03, 2017 at 16:21What is the role of 0ohms in demo CR95HF reader (application note AN3394). Demo gerbers call these 0 ohm shorts not Resistor but 'L01' and 'L02'. Are they neccessary? On the picture of the PCB (page  6/29 of the same AN3394 Doc ID 018754 Rev 5)   R12 is not seated. Is it neccessary? On the same figure (page 6/29 AN3394) C17 seems to be NOT parallel to C3, but R1-C17-R5 circuit is 'above' C3 track. In theory 229pF is needed where parallel  200pF+15pF is used. Do I need to 'finetune' capacitance this way if 220pF is only +/-10%.  Is this so sensitive?#doc-id-018754-rev-5 #cr95hf #an3394

Posted on August 03, 2017 at 10:36 I'm trying to reprogram the NVM (flash bank 2) while running code from flash bank 1 in STM32L071CB microcontroller. As AN4808 and AN4767 stand, 'the memory interface is capable of reading both banks in parallel, or reading one bank while writing to the other...' but I'm experiencing some problems: Debugging shows that FWWERR bit goes high in the flash status register during flash bank 2 half-page write operation. It means that writting flash bank 2 has been stopped because of code fetching.Erasing bank 2 by code in bank 1 works properly.Writting by words bank 2 by code in bank 1 seems to work properly (but I'm having doubts if its only coincidence).Half-page writting ends with FWWERR bit set in FLASH_SR and zeros in the memory I'm trying to write. I know I'm missing something but I can't find out what it is. Maybe someone had similar problem? I'm starting to think that there's something is wrong with the uC (errata sheet points out some problems w

Posted on January 09, 2018 at 11:35Hello everyone,I am on an STM32F103 and I am using USB to stream data from uC (USB device, USB ) to PC. The USB connection is a virtual COM Port the Driver is standard ST driver.I am wondering about USB performance, I measure data rates (64 Byte USB buffer size) of around 100kBytes. That's far beyond the USB 2.0 specification but I am not sure if that's a hardware problem of the STM32F103 or is there some way to optimize that. Currently I am using interrupts for the communication from uC to USB would it be better to poll data from PC? Does anyone have information about the max data rate in such a 'interrupt' driven USB communication?best regardsMatthias

Posted on January 11, 2018 at 23:24I use CubeF7 1.8.0 and the BSP drivers for SD support. Working (reading and writing files) with SD card is fine. After initializing SD with:static void SD_Initialize(void){  if (isInitialized == 0)  {    if (BSP_SD_Init() == MSD_OK)    {      BSP_SD_ITConfig();      isInitialized = 1;    }    else    {      /* wait until the uSD is plugged */      while (BSP_SD_IsDetected() != SD_PRESENT) {}    }  }}UART5 and UART7 are not usable anymore.Interrupt does not occur anymore and even a simple    HAL_StatusTypeDef  hscs = HAL_UART_Receive(&huart5, rxdata, 10, 0x1000);ends with HAL_TIMEOUT. (A 2nd board sends a string continously)I also omitted 4 Bit SD, just for testing. When I make my SD stuff, i.e. reading a config file and then ca

Posted on July 02, 2017 at 07:48Hi, I'm trying to use I2S2 in STM32F107VC in this Configuration:SYSCLK and HLCK: 72 MHzI2S2 Clock (Using PLL3_VCO): 80 MHzBut in configuration tab I can't set audio frequency more than 32 KHz (i.e. 44 KHz 48 KHz and 96 KHz).The CubeMX error is:'With this I2S Clock (36.0 MHz), the divider value 1 is too low to obtain the desired Audio Frequency (44.0 KHz).The I2S Clock must be higher than (45.056 MHz).'Is it possible to implement higher audio frequencies?Any guidance could be helpful.Thanks#stm32f1 #i2s

Posted on November 07, 2016 at 13:32 Hello everyone, I'm trying to read an external SPI flash using DMA but I occasionally get an SPI overrun error. I've managed to track down the error: I get no overrun errors when I disable the LTDC IRQ. And more specifically, when I disable the following line placed on the IRQ handler: HAL_LTDC_ProgramLineEvent(hltdc, 0); My microcontroller is a STM32F429 and priorities are defined as follows: HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(DMA2_Stream2_IRQn, 2, 0); // RX HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(DMA2_Stream5_IRQn, 3, 0); // TX HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(SPI1_IRQn, 4, 0); HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(LTDC_IRQn, 5, 0); Any ideas? Thank you very much for your time. #spi-dma-ltdc-line-interrupt
