I am looking into the possibility of using a stm32 microcontroller (probably stm32f030) to directly* control the power transistors in a switch-mode power supply, in order to generate a high-power waveform.My current thinking has a PMOS switch transistor and an NMOS synchronous rectifier. These have different turn-off times (one of them is 290 ns according to its data sheet), so I would want one dead-time when turning the PMOS off and the NMOS on, and a different dead-time when turning the NMOS off and the PMOS on.Looking at the Reference Manual, I see only one register to program the dead-time on TIM1.Does anyone have suggestions as to how I might achieve different dead-times for otherwise-complementary PWM? If a different stm32 would do the job better, please suggest which.I should add that in order to keep the inductor size reasonable, I do want to switch as fast as I can, so I don't want to bit-bang the outputs.Thanks,Danish*Probably via a FAN3268 MOSFET driver or similar

Greetings Everybody,I am initializing STM32F030R8 Timer 3 with 48MHz clock and pre scaller 480 - 1 -> 479 and counter period 1. Technically this timer 3 interrupt should be generated at 48MHz / 480 -> 100KHz. On every interrupt i am toggling PA4 GPIO which i am viewing in Oscilloscope and it shows the frequency of 25KHz .. Shouldn't i be getting 100KHz output ? I cant figure out where i am going wrong ?Any help would be of great help.I am using STMCube and HAL libraries..Below is snapshot of timer 3 init

I'm using "STM32L452CC". PA11 pin in connected to battery level checking part. But I can check only ADC1_EXTI11, and I'm using ADC1_IN5,6,7,8,9(PA0,1,2,3,4 pins) DMA_cirgular.So, for battery level checking, I wanna use "GPIO_Analog". But i cannot search any example or any function in stm32l4xx_hal_gpio.c, stm32l4xx_hal_adc.c or in hal library. How can I get the value of gpio_analog pin?

With reference to Page 21, Table 16 in the ST25R95 Data Sheet, where would I find a description of all of the Data Field parameters for 15693 tags? (I see only one example in which the data value of is 022000 given).Thanks,Jim

Hi, I'm trying to change the button bitmap from "button_pressed.png" to "button.png", after an interrupt event (without touching the display) . Could anyone shed some light on where I can swap the graphics? I'm a CPP novice, so the more information you can provide the better. many thanks, K

Hello,I now understand that I should have asked the question differently.Let's say we have 2 applications: secured and non-secured application.The secured is placed in inetrnal flash, just as done in the demo of SBSFU,But the non secured should be placed in external flash.And we don't need it to be encrypted.Is it that the root bootloader os SB will try to decrypt or authenticate it before jumping to that non secured application in external flash ?The bootloader should decide if jumping to the secured or non-secured according to GPIO (by the way, is it secured ?)Thanksranran

I've been fighting with this too long and can't figure it out. I've added uart communication for use with printf() by implementing the following in syscalls.c:__attribute__((weak)) int _write(int file, char *ptr, int len) { HAL_StatusTypeDef status = HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart1, (uint8_t *)ptr, len, 0xFFFF); return (status == HAL_OK ? len : 0); }That works fine with printf. But printing floats or doubles causes it to hang when it tries to output the number. I have enabled -u _printf_float in the MCU Settings of STM32CubeIDE (also tried adding it manually to the Linker flags).double test = 1.2345; printf("test: %f\r\n", test);arm-none-eabi-g++ -o "ProjectTest.elf" @"objects.list" -l:libtouchgfx-float-abi-hard.a -mcpu=cortex-m7 -T"B:\gitrepo\ProjectTest\STM32F746NGHX_FLASH.ld" --specs=nosys.specs -Wl,-Map="ProjectTest.map" -Wl,--gc-sections -static -L../Middlewares/ST/TouchGFX/touchgfx/lib/core/cortex_m7/gcc --specs=nano.specs -mfpu=fpv5-sp-d16 -mfloat-abi=hard -mthumb -u _printf_flo

This is probably more of a wish list item than a question that can be solved - I'm using an STM32L4 chip's SAI to interface to an I2s microphone (SPH0645lm4h Knowles microphone). It works well. But things would be even better if the I2s reception could be somehow synchronised to an LSE derived clock. eg. 32768Hz/2 = 16384Hz. That way I would be able to get the full accuracy of the LSE crystal for pitch analysis. Maybe there is a way but I haven't figured it out yet....By the way, there seems to be a few errors in the SAI section of the Reference manual eg. in the register section, I think Fsck_x = Fsai_x_ker_ck / MCKDIV x 2 should be Fmclk = ....

Hi, I am using stm32f103c8t6 connected to a rotary encoder using SPL. I was planning to use TIMER 1 in encoder mode, but probably I had made a mistake by connecting channel A of encoder to PB13 (T1C1N) and channel B to PB14(T1C2N) - this setup doesnt work at all.So, is it possible that TIM1 can decode encoder signals in this configuration or the only solution is to re-route the encoder signals to PA8 & PA9 pins of the µC? I also tried using STM32Cube just to cross check my assumption and there also it seems that I can't use PB13 & PB14 in encoder interface mode. I have checked the encoder signals with a scope and they look clean and sharp and the same encoder works well with TIM2 and TIM4.Kindly help with suggestions and solutionsRegardsVin

Hi,i'm trying to blink only one led. I have a problem with one of four leds. Because as you in my code, i'm trying to blink only 'green led'. But 'blue led' blinks also. #include "stm32f4xx.h" // Device header #include "stm32f4xx_hal_gpio.h"   int main () { RCC->AHB1ENR |= (4<<1); //initiliazing clock GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStructure; GPIO_InitStructure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP; //push-pull GPIO_InitStructure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_12; //green led HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOD, &GPIO_InitStructure); HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_12); //blue led blinks also! return 0; }

1 Select STM32MP151 (This case AAAx)2. Select an GPIOx and set to GIPIO_EXTx 3. Goto NVIC: EXTI option is disabled   (Checkbox cannot be selected)4. Goto GPIO : Pin can be configured as interrupt How to enable interrupts for NVIC for GPIO's in order to generate the code ? See pictures. CubeMX 5.3.0, Linux

Hi all,For debugging purposes I would like to add hardware button presses to the simulator view in order to be able to better mimic the hardware that we run on (keypresses are working on the hardware already). I've edited the makefile used to build the simulator to include my added code, and I followed the same procedure of creating a KeySampler class that is of the type touchgfx::ButtonController and added the    static_cast<HALSDL2&>(hal).setButtonController(&btn);To main.cpp. Right now for simplicity's sake the sample function of the class always returns "true" with the button press value hard coded to match one that should produce a reaction on the screen. Despite this the simulator GUI does not respond to the "button press". Using the touchgfx_printf() shows that the initialization for the KeySampler is being called, but that the sample function is not. Am I taking the wrong approach? Does this work differently in the simulator HAL than the hardware HA

I found that STM32Cubemx version 5.3.0 fails to configure ADC DMA operations when building code for the STM32H743.The initialization code set the ConversionDataManagement to the wrong value: hadc1.Init.ConversionDataManagement = ADC_CONVERSIONDATA_DR;instead of: hadc1.Init.ConversionDataManagement = ADC_CONVERSIONDATA_DMA_CIRCULAR;

I want to use sound alarm in my M4 program or on A7 Linux side.It can be any kind of sound (beep...etc).What should I do ?Which external pheriperal can I buy , or is it possible to do it with internal pheriperals on the board and how ?tnx

Hello all,I am using the STM32L071KB in a project, and I have to write a 32 bit word in internal EEPROM each minute; So is it worth changing the address of this 32 bit word after 100 000 cycles, in order to increase number of Erase/Write cycles ?If the MCU erases the whole EEPROM at each Erase/Write cycle, that would not be worth. But I don't see this information in the user manual.Thanks !

Hi All,I would like to use the OTP memory in my current project, but I can not find any app notes or user manuals on how to program it. Is it supported by STM32 Cube Programmer CLI? There is no reference to it for the STM32WB OTP in UM2237.Thanks,Daniel

Hi,I ran several test and example projects on the STM32F769 Discovery platform. I would like to reload the original demo firmware. According to the documentation, it should be available from the www.st.com/stm32f7-discovery webpage but I cannot find it again.Could someone tell where I can find the original demo firmware for this kit ?Many thanks in advance.Best regards.

Posted on February 23, 2018 at 01:56Still very fresh with CubeMX and all this STM32 stuff, hope it is my fault. Or not?In the Clock configuration tab in Cube 4.23 I've produced configuration that should set the HCLK and SYSCLK to 72 MHz(not sure how it calculated this config, I have external osc. 8 MHz and must have 48 MHz for USB). The chip is STM32F446. See the picture below.But, in the generated code in main.c after SystemClock_Config()  SystemCoreClock value is 225,000,000.If I understand correctly SystemCoreClock should be exactly the HCLK (or Sysclk?)I know that the actual frequency is 72 MHz because I use debug output via ITM_SendChar, and entered 72Mhz in Keil debug settings. It prints   Today I upgraded this project to Cube v. 4.24 and libraries 1.19.0 and the  SystemCoreClock value still is 225,000,000.This may be related to https://community.st.com/0D50X00009Xkav1SAB.Please advice...Regards,-- pa#cubemx-4.23 #stm32f446 #cubemx-v4.24

Hi,Can the STM32H7 be programmed with STLINK v2 ? ie, can it be connected to the SWD 6 pin header on the (eg: STM32F407) Discovery board, to be programmed ? Thanks,Manu

In function USB_EP0_OutStart is: if (dma == 1U) {   USBx_OUTEP(0U)->DOEPDMA = (uint32_t)psetup;   /* EP enable */   USBx_OUTEP(0U)->DOEPCTL |= USB_OTG_DOEPCTL_EPENA | USB_OTG_DOEPCTL_USBAEP; }In my opinion enabling endpoint should be out of DMA condition: if (dma == 1U) {   USBx_OUTEP(0U)->DOEPDMA = (uint32_t)psetup; } /* EP enable */ USBx_OUTEP(0U)->DOEPCTL |= USB_OTG_DOEPCTL_EPENA | USB_OTG_DOEPCTL_USBAEP;STM32CubeF4 version 1.24.1The same situation exists in STM32CubeF7.

Hi, I am making some test in low power mode using the end_node example for LoRa but I always get 0.5mA in sleep mode, I use the STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V1.2.1 version and I am doing measurements in the JP3 VDD_MCU_LRA branchI have read this post where @Remco Groenendaal recommend us this:To get to the lowest power consumption mode using the B072, one should:1.- be absolutely sure TCXO is not connected to vdd but connected to PA12 (vdd_tcxo)  I have changed JP9 to pins 1-2 but is the sameand in the same post @Kevin Genskowsky told us this:Finaly solve it ,Conected VDD_TCX0 to PA10and changed ,mlm32l0xx_hw_conf.h ♯ define RADIO_TCXO_VCC_PORT GPIOA , ♯ define RADIO_TCXO_VCC_PIN GPIO_PIN_10And worked imidiatly PA12 might have some extra configuration that is missing.So this is very confuse because I don't know if is necessary to change the control pin of TCXO or the solution is just change the position of JP9, or both2.- set all your defined (and unused) pins to anal

The autotuning algorithm implemented in the app reader, is an external routine? I mean, the IC ST25RU3993 by itself can not tune an antenna. I guess that we need to implement some algorithm making a sweep and checking the reflected power, and then finally set the 3 values for the tunning capacitors.

Product folder on st.com and databrief says "The STSW-STM32080 package contains all binaries and source code for DfuSe USB device firmware upgrade (DFU) software, including the demonstration, debugging GUIs, and protocol layers." Same is also mentioned in the readme.txt in the package.I downloaded the package but could not find the sources in downloaded file. So, where are they?NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. We regularly review support cases and add any helpful ones here for all to benefit from.

Subject says it all, really: Go here, download the ZIP file for the 'Manufacturing files', and the 'Mechanical' folder is empty :(Looking to get the offsets of the holes from the Arduino connector so I can bolt it down well.

Hi.Based on the OTA example, I created an application. The only difference is the use of MTU = 256.The length of the characteristic is equal to MTU android pixel (126)The problem is that when sending firmware from a custom application to an Android Pixel, all packages very rarely arrive. A lot is lost.At the same time, when testing on Android Nexus 7, all packages come.At first, I decided that a Pixel transmits data faster than a Nexus and reduced the transmission speed by delay. Only a delay of 100ms between the transfer of packets allowed to receive all packets.But at the Nexus, packets are transmitted approximately every 20ms and everything comes.Then I limited the length of the characteristic to 20 bytes and nothing changed, when transferring from a Pixel, data is lost.The next step, on the chip side, I removed the code that writes to the flash and bingo!, with a characteristic length of 126, without using the delay, all the data comes.Question to the respected community and STM en
