Hello. I'm using the STM32H735G-DK and I run into a problem when using the ADC, so I made a very short CubeMX project to check this.I started with a CubeMX configured board with no peripheral default initialisation. Then I ticked ADC1 IN0. So by default it set it as 16bits conversion with software start. I changed the CPU clock to 550MHz.In the generated project:I'm starting the ADC conversionThen I poll for the conversion completionThen I read the ADC result and store itHAL_ADC_Start(&hadc1);HAL_StatusTypeDef status = HAL_ADC_PollForConversion(&hadc1, 1000);adc_buff = HAL_ADC_GetValue(&hadc1);The default pinout use the Arduino A2 pin (PA0_C). I connected the 3.3V on the ADC input. The ADC result is then 65535 which is fine. What is strange is that it doesn't change of a single lsb due to noise. Then I connected the 0V on the ADC input. The result I get is 1000+-100lsb instead of 0.Which basically mean that on a 16bit conversion, I have 10bits of noise.I checked that the chan

When I compile the code in the IDE and run it (with the acquisition json file set to activate for 5s, then idle for 10s, and repeat) It activates correctly the first time. However, when coming out of idle the second time, it produces an SD card error (see below). Any ideas why I wouldn't be getting this with the precompiled binary, but do get it with the cube project files?

I've been messing around with a LMT86 temperature sensorThis sensor is deemed high output impedance as the documented loads it drives is 50uA.ADC noise on STM32 isn't 'new'. Just that for a first time I'm observing such volatility up close. The problem is mere millivolts differences means a different temperature reading from the sensor, and accordingly there is already a sort of 'amplification' from the sensor itself.Threads found from a Google search are like such.https://embdev.net/topic/stm32f0-adc-input-noise-investigationshttps://itectec.com/electrical/electronic-stm32-adc-noise-2/https://www.eevblog.com/forum/microcontrollers/stm32-adc-noise/https://stackoverflow.com/questions/55499111/pid-temperature-control-python-eliminating-noise-values-stm32It is explored in a thread discussing the temperature sensor here:https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/threads/lmt86-2-2v-temperature-sensor.181850/Among the discussions is that given this is a high impedance source, an Op-Amp is needed to

Hi,I need the suggestion such that in my PCB layout, I am trying to put all the RF chip and components will be at center of the antenna. So that I can get more space. If I seen the CR95HF Eval board the antenna part is separate and no other components also placed at the bottom and inside the antennal tracks. This above type of placement is recommended? Will you share the PCB guidelines for the CR95HF...Kind Regards,Nishanth M

Hello!I have an issue on a custom board with STM32MP153CAB and KSZ8081RNB.TF-A, FIP and kernel were built in Developer package. Linux distribution was built as startard configuration st-image-core in Distribution package.Clocks and device trees are configured like specified in https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Ethernet_device_tree_configuration#RMII_with_25MHz_on_ETH_CLK_-28no_PHY_Crystal-29-2C_REF_CLK_from_PHY_-28Reference_clock_-28standard_RMII_clock_name-29_is_provided_by_a_RCC_SoC_internal_clock-29Here are fragments of device tree for U-Boot and kernel (generated by STM32CubeIDE and manually edited):eth1_pins_mx: eth1_mx-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 1, AF11)>, /* ETH1_REF_CLK */ <STM32_PINMUX('C', 1, AF11)>, /* ETH1_MDC */ <STM32_PINMUX('G', 8, AF2)>, /* ETH1_CLK */ <STM32_PINMUX('G', 13, AF11)>, /* ETH1_TXD0 */ <STM32_PINMUX('G', 14, AF11)>; /* ETH1_TXD1 */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = &lt

Hi,I am trying to use external flash to download the FW and facing issue at FWPartialTag comparison. I want to debug SECoreBin project to see what is going on while I am in debugging SBSFU project. Is this debug jump possible? If so, Could you please let me know how to achieve this CubeIDE.Thanks,Ankush

I'm trying to use memory-mapped QSPI with STM32H743XI, but it always crashes when reading the last few bytes (something like 96 bytes before the end address, but not entirely consistent). It crashes without a fault and just disconnects the debugger and has to be reset/power on/off to work again. I tried many things, but I couldn't change anything. I'm aware of the errata "2.4.4 Memory-mapped read of last memory byte fails", but it happens A LOT sooner than the last byte and the behaviour doesn't seem to be consistent with the description there. Also there's no mention for this errata in the revision table and I don't know if my chip is affected or not.Any help is appreciated :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

According to the STM32H747xI/G datasheet, the STM32H747IG has a VCAPDSI pin, but no VDDDSI pin at all.I'm sure i get something wrong here, because without VDDDSI pin, the VCAPDSI pin would be a miraculous source of energy! ;)But seriously: do i have to connect an external LDO to the VDD12DSI pins? Or does the DSI regulator get its energy from an undocumented internal power routing in the 176 pin version? Thanks a lot in advance!AlBTW: the pins 158 and 159 are swapped in the pinout (STM32H747xI/G datasheet)!

We have just ran the update for SPC5 and on regenerating the application we get this message. What can we do to solve that?/Larsa

Hello im trying to establish communication between two P-Nucleo_wb55 boards.Once i flash the firmware with cubeIDE example (\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.12.1\Projects\P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo\Applications\BLE\BLE_CableReplacement)#define GATT_CLIENT 0//1//chaning this for client/server rolesI open serial terminals on my PC (putty or realterm), COM ports are visible but they are unresponsive....I have no idea of where to start debugging

I have custom complied U-BOOT according this wiki page: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_compile_the_device_tree_with_the_Developer_Package#U-boot_-_unpack_and_patch_sourcesIt was build succesfully to support QSPI flash. Now I want to unify it with eMCC, so wand to use same custom compiled TF-A, U-BOOT for both QSPI and eMMC. After TF-A and U-BOOT (with FIP) build I have successfully downloaded all of them to target board using standard FlashLayout file but after trying to boot eMMC found following message in console:Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0Boot over mmc0!switch to partitions #0, OKmmc0(part 0) is current device** Unrecognized filesystem type **Accoring to mmc part it has correct PT:STM32MP> mmc partPartition Map for MMC device 0 --  Partition Type: EFIPart  Start LBA    End LBA     Name    Attributes    Type GUID    Partition GUI

I know that the STPMIC1C is the "custom" version of this PMIC. And long term, we may choose to use that version. But, due to availability, we want to create our reference design with the STPMIC1E which we can acquire ~300 parts for our prototype build. Then in mass production, we'd likely switch to the STPMIC1C. We have no problem programming the NVM as long as the values stay present on subsequent power-ups.Specifically, we'd like to program:BUCK1 to 0.8VBUCK2 to 1.1V (default)BUCK3 to 1.8VBUCK4 to 0.65VThanks.Tom

I am trying to set up a hal can receive interrupt. After thorough googling, I found that HAL_CAN_Receive_IT is deprecated and that I should now be using HAL_CAN_ActivateNotification with a callback function. Unfortunately no one describes how to do this. In fact, if I search the HAL manual (um1785) for "HAL_CAN_ActivateNotification" I get 0 results. It looks like the STM32F0 line just doesnt have CAN interrupt capabilities.

I created two CubeMX projects for an STM32L412K Nucleo and IAR EWARM 8.50.9 (licensed).Project A is a simple default, I don't modify anything at all.Project B takes project A and enables FreeRTOS in the Middlewares.I add "printf("test") before while(1) in Project A, and before osKernelStart() in Project B.When I debug Project A, the test message appears in Terminal IO. The implementation appears to follow _DLIB_FILE_DESCRIPTOR=0, because putchar calls _write as shown in the DLIB library file source. However, Project B does NOT print anything. And the disassembly shows that putchar calls fputc, which looks like DLIB putchar.c was compiled with _DLIB_FILE_DESCRIPTOR=1.Nowhere is DLIB_FILE_DESCRIPTOR reconfigured in either project. And manually setting it to zero doesn't fix Project B.Nowhere is weak putchar() overridden in either project.I can't figure out what is causing this behavior.

Hello,Is there any clause from ST that prevent the usage of DK1 evaluation board in production? I have seen few notes in the user manual:https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/dm00591354-discovery-kits-with-stm32mp157-mpus-stmicroelectronics.pdf"Product marking Evaluation tools marked as “ES? or “E? are not yet qualified and therefore not ready to be used as reference design or in production. Any consequences deriving from such usage will not be at ST charge. In no event, ST will be liable for any customer usage of these engineering sample tools as reference design or in production. “E? or “ES? marking examples of location: • On the targeted STM32 that is soldered on the board (for illustration of STM32 marking, refer to the STM32 datasheet “Package information? paragraph at the www.st.com website). • Next to the evaluation tool ordering part number that is stuck or silk-screen printed on the board."It sounds to me that as long as we are staying away of automotive, military or

In AN4899 it specifies that one should add a zener diode from the 5V rail to the 3.3V rail in order to have complete safety when using FT pins with 5V pull ups. Does anyone know what the specifications of the Zener diode should be (currents, resistances, etc) and the associated resistor? Is anyone actually doing this? I can't find examples of this anywhere. I've found a few Nucleo board schematics that don't seem to use it either. I'm using 10k pullups on a STM32L431CBT6 with a LD3985M33R as my LDO.  p.s. this is an extension to this original question, but this specific part of putting a zener diode is something that is still unanswered.

Does anyone have experience with 5V pull ups? do you have to power on the 5V source after the MCU is started?I'm running a STM32L431CBT6  with external 5 volt 10k pull-ups on the pins PB11,12,13,14,15 and PA1. (all flagged as FT pins)I've been able to plug it in and power it on and even program the MCU. All of the pins above are in "reset_state". So, as far as I can tell, we are not using any internal pull-ups/downs.After some time and, perhaps, consecutive plug-ins, the chip seems to burn out. I've since cut the chip off the board (since its burnt) and replaced with with a 47ohm resistive load and taken a measurement of the startup voltages (see attached image). The blue line is the 5V rail, which is powering the pull ups. The red line is the 3.3v LDO powering the MCU. There is clearly a short time where the GPIO pin goes above the MCU power, and there is also about 1.6ms between the MCU powering on and the GPIO pull-ups getting over 4V. According to the documentation DS1145

Hi, I am working with F413 and I am using USART3 to receive and trasmit data over UART. As I need to receive unknow size of data I wrote my own interrupt handler for RX. However I would like to transmit data out with a help of DMA. If I call regular poll UART_Transmit(...) function, device will send out data and response from the target will be picked up by RX IRQ handler to a buffer without a problem. I wan't to get rid of blocking UART_Transmit() function. For that reason I configure and setup DMA so I could use non-blocking UART_Transmit_DMA(...) function. With logic analyzer I can see properly formed outgoing and incoming traffic. I would say that DMA transmit works fine... but now I have problem with RX IRQ handler...  My receive IRQ handler looks like this: /* USART3 RX handler */ UART_RX_INTERRUPT_HANDLER_DECLARATION(USART3) { /* Check if receive register is not empty status */ if __HAL_UART_GET_FLAG(&UARTS_Instance()->consts[UART_INSTANCE_3].huart,

Hi everyone!By default, the linker file describes that the memory partitions are configured as:RETRAM - ISR Vector;SRAM1 - Code;SRAM2 - Data;SRAM3 - buffer IPC;SRAM4 - not used in .ld file, but in device tree it's DMA1/DMA2 buffer.My application does not need DMA buffers and I want to use this memory efficiently, namely:RETRAM - ISR Vector;SRAM1+SRAM2 - Code;SRAM3 - Data;SRAM4 - buffer IPC;To do this, I change the linker file accordingly:/** ****************************************************************************** * @file LinkerScript.ld * @author Auto-generated by STM32CubeIDE * Abstract : Linker script for STM32MP157A-DK1 Board embedding STM32MP157AACx Device from STM32MP1 series * 128Kbytes FLASH * 128Kbytes RAM1 * 128Kbytes RAM2 * * Set heap size, stack size and stack location according * to application requirements. * * Set memory bank area and size if external memory is used ****************************************************************************** * @atten

To validate the drive L6474PD I was reading the status through getStatus command but the drive is responding with FFFF. I am not understanding to validate the drive through SPI.

I am currently writing a code to send joystick data from a PC to an STM32 Nucleo board. I use pygame to read joystick values and use the socket library of python to send data to MCU via a router. Both MCU and PC is connected to the router. On the MCU side, I use a modified example code of LWIP given in STM32 Cube pkg. The MCU also runs a FreeRTOS scheduler on which LWIP is running. I was able to get it run flawlessly in a 2 threaded FreeRTOS code. However, when I shift the code to a 16 threaded code[main project], LWIP stops working after a few exchanges. In a sense, I don't receive any ping after 4-5 exchanges. Some things that were experimented with to resolve the issuereduced the publishing frequency from the PC side to 20hz. This increases the exchange duration but fails after few minutes.Tried reducing the ConfigMaxPriority parameter of FreeRTOS config from 56(cube ide default) to 16.[Operating time increased]tried changing FreeRTOS main heap memory and LWIP thread stack memory [no

As the title says. I can see no support for this but a perpiheral advertising with ADV_IND should support this by default.Does anyone know?Regards,AC

I created a simple GPIO program with the code generated from StmCubeMX. When i build the program there are no errors and warnings, but when i connect my Nucleo-F411RE and try to debug it, i get this message in Expressions. The program is supposed to make LED2 go off when i press the Blue button (LED2 is on by default by this code) and it works, i see LED2 turn off when i press the button, and goes back on when i release it, but in Expressions i don't see this. When i press Resume the value should be 1 and when i press the button to go to 0. Instead i get the error.
