I'm doing some signal integrity verifications using the STM32H7 IBIS models to determine if I need terminations for connecting my STM32H7 to a HyperRAM memory.I was a bit surprised with the poor signal integrity I was getting, which I assumed was due to faster edges than expected. I looked a bit deeper in my simulations and noticed that the rise time for the IO was only 160 ps. This is an extremely fast number and I was expecting it to be closer to 1 ns.The IO is running at 1.8 V with HSLV enabled and the fastest IO speed. The MCU has the UFBGA176+25 package. Is this 160 ps number realistic?

I took the stm32Cube example : Projects\STM32L562E-DK\Examples\OCTOSPI\OSPI_NOR_ReadWrite_DMA and modified it to send a RDID (9Fh) instruction to the NOR. I get a "0xAC 0x28 0x53" but I ignore which codes that NOR flash is supposed to answer. It could be valid, though. Then, I send a RDSDFP instruction (5Ah) and then I receive a sequence of "0x00" which is wrong because the NOR flash is supposed to send 0x50444653. Could someone share the code functions using a simple OSPI_RegularCmdTypeDef to read the NOR-flash ID and the NOR-flash SDFP So that I can verify on my disco kit that the NOR-flash is alive. Thanks

You can found below a extract of my linker script:MEMORY { D1_CODE_RAM (xrx) : ORIGIN = 0x24070000, LENGTH = 64K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8000000, LENGTH = 128K NVRAM (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8020000, LENGTH = 64K }   .ram_code_load () : { . = ALIGN(4); _sdata = .; /* create a global symbol at data start */ *(.ram_code_load) *(.ram_code_load*) *RestApiServer.o (.text .text*) *Cryptographic_CM7.a:*(.text .text*) KEEP(*(.ram_code_load)) . = ALIGN(4); _edata = .; /* define a global symbol at data end */ } >D1_CODE_RAM AT> NVRAMWhat I expect is to found into my .map file the Cryptographic_CM7 .text code placed at 0x8020000 as it's done with RestApiServer.o code.What I get is the Cryptographic_CM7 library .text code placed at 0x8000000...Until now I had follow this PDF as ressources whitout any sucess. https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an4296-use-stm32f3stm32g4-ccm-sram-with-iar-embedded-workbench-keil-mdkarm-stmicroelectronics-stm32cubeide-and-other-gnubased-

Hi!Help! When creating a position control project in the MC SDK using NUCLEO-F446RE and X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1-3Sh when compiling to KEIL, an error occurred. It is not clear where the value of SPEED_LOOP_FREQUENCY_HZ is defined.Thank you in advance!

Hi St forum   I'm in the progress of creating a peripheral BLE application using the STM32WB55CE on a custom board.   I'm trying to implement low power now, but struggling..   Using the X-Nucleo-LPM01A power monitor board I've measured my current consumption (no low power implemented): This is not impressive, but expected.   To get a grip on ST low power, I've run various examples on the P-Nucleo.WB55 dev. board, but it looks like the current consumption is very high no matter the example??? I've based my guesses on the Power features application note.   Setup: All jumpers from STLINK is removed during test.   PWR_STOP2_RTC exampple: expected ~2.2uA   PWR_EnterStandbyMode: expected < 1uA.   PWR_SMPS_16MHZ_HSI w/o RF Stack: ??   PWR_SMPS_16MHZ_HSI with RF Stack:   BLE_HeartRate: not sure.   So the question is: I'm I missing something vital? Ideally I would like the application to enter either STOP2 or STANDBY when no BLE central

Hi,My bellow question is based on info read from:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_ROM_code_overview#Configurationandhttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_backup_registers#Boot_mode_selection_featureFrom those two links I understand that if ROM CODE sees "0xFF" in the BOOT_MODE register then it will not continue to TF-A and instead enter flashing mode. The bellow is also mentioned:"The Linux kernel can force a reboot mode by writing to the BOOT_MODE register. This writing is done via the "reboot" Linux command, which is configured via the compatible "syscon-reboot-mode" in the device tree."What I want to achieve / understand if possible is to run a Linux userspace command to write 0xFF into BOOT_MODE and reboot the system.I can't find a way to do this...Also, just to make sure, If I am able to achieve the above, will the device boot into DFU mode ?some background:Playing with boot selection pins on the evaluation boards is easy, not so much on our production boards. In addi

I am developing a application with STM32F746G discovery board with my sensor, and I reference AN4749 to design a lop-power control flow. But I don't know how to measure/monitor/analyzing the power consumption to make sure whether my design is work or not.Is there any software tool that can do this? Or I need to buy another hardware tool? Thanks for any kind support.

I cannot find the script generate_OoB_hexfiles.bat refereed at the STM32F7508-DK demonstration library. On the other hand, This script is only used for concatenate hex images to an only one hex image, and I want to know more about this process. Please, could somebody help me with this topic by providing literature about that? Thanks in advance.

Usually I find this information in the pin mapping description, e.g. for the device STM32L4A6AG I would have assumed to find it in section 4 "Pinouts and pin description", where all other stuff like SPI, I2C, FMC, EVENTOUT, TIM etc. are described.LinkToDataSheetIs there no pin interrupt enabled on that chip? Of course there are, but which one? What did I miss?

Hi,I'm using the STWIN SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node development board which has a micro Ultra-low-power ARM Cortex-M4 MCU at 120 MHz with FPU, 2048 kbytes Flash memory (STM32L4R9).I need to interface with a device that uses CANopen, is it possible to implement this protocol on this micro with opensource libraries?I have seen that there are st partners who can implement this but I have to pay them.thank you very much for your availability.

In STM\STM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.2.0\Projects\NUCLEO-WL55JC\Applications\LoRaWAN\LoRaWAN_End_Node\LoRaWAN I cannot find an explanation for the NUCLEO-WL55C1 LEDS GREEN, BLUE, RED meanings. In lora_app.c I found: AppLedStateOn = appData->Buffer[0] & 0x01; that toggles the RED LED There is nothing in the DOCS, README, PDF files and the source is not commented to the programmers intentions, must be real obvious but I'm missing it.

I'm trying to use the MEMS1 microphone streaming example, with 4 pdm microphone and a stm32wb55. I am able to use it to get a 48kHz 16 bits per sample with all the microphones without any issue. But when I try to use 24 bits per sample (I'm not sure this is how im supposed to set 24 bits depth but didn't find any other part related to resolution in the code) :The audio acquisition I get on Audacity is wrong :The first two channels are full of sound, third channel is deaf and 4th channel works fine.I have tried with 32 Bits Per Sample and there were no issues. Any idea of what's wrong ? I didn't edited the code. I did the same test but using only two microphones, and the result was the same : first channel full of sound, and 2nd is working. Thanks

Hello everyone. There is a possibility of use STMicroelectronics nodes at native NODE-RED, and use Node-RED instead STM32CubeMonitor?

I'm following the OpenAMP_TTY_echo example. To do a Tx it basically uses two functions: VIRT_UART_Init and VIRT_UART_TransmitAfter I use VIRT_UART_Init, I can see in the Linux terminal a log message something that suggests the initialization is working. However, VIRT_UART_Transmit returns error.I was debugging and found that rpmsg_send_offchannel_raw function is returning because "dst == RPMSG_ADDR_ANY"However, VIRT_UART_Init, is initializing destiny as RPMSG_ADDR_ANYstatus = OPENAMP_create_endpoint(&huart->ept, RPMSG_SERVICE_NAME, RPMSG_ADDR_ANY, VIRT_UART_read_cb, NULL);These are automatic generated functions by STM32CubeMX.Am I missing something? Should I set the dest address somehow?Note this is code generated with STM32CubeMX, I only added the call to VIRT_UART functions.

I'm working through ST Application Note AN5027 (link) to interface PDM microphones via SAI (specifically, the example given on p41 onwards). I selected a Nucleo L4A6ZG for this, due to it having SAI, but I'm having some trouble following the DMA configuration options on p45. Specifically, 'Peripheral to Memory' is not an option in the drop-down (only Memory to Peripheral).I wonder:1) Is there something I'm missing (I admit, this could be a wide topic). I've not encountered this issue on other projects.2) Is there something about the L4A6ZG which makes it unsuited to this project? I've only previously used a F412ZG.Some further details which might be relevant: My project involves interfacing several (up to 8) MEMS PDM microphones, which is a method documented in AN5027. I used my F412 to develop the simple code for one microphone connected via I2S, but I'm now trying to expand that. The F412 doesn't have SAI, hence now using the L4A6.

Hello all, basicly I want to transfer 32bit data bit-wise to a periphal address. Therefore I tried a 200 IQ move and fed the DMA with the bitband adress of the 32Bit data. But the DMA directly sets the error flag. I didn't found a hint in the data sheets, that it isn't allowed to use 0x2200_0000 as source adress for the DMA. Anyone who can help ?Btw: I'm using a stm32L433

Hi,We wish to add CRC16 checksum to our communication payloads, and I see in the stm32mp157 datasheet CRC module section that it should support CRC32,16,8 and 7 bits."""25.4.3 CRC control register (CRC_CR)Bits 4:3 POLYSIZE[1:0]: Polynomial sizeThese bits control the size of the polynomial.00: 32 bit polynomial01: 16 bit polynomial10: 8 bit polynomial11: 7 bit polynomial"""But I do not see this being utilized in the ST CRC driver ("stm32-crc32.c") - Linux 5.10from a quick look at the ST CRC driver, I see only CRC32 support. To be clear, CRC32 works, and I have already tested it with a userspace application using AF_ALG to request kernel support to calculate CRC32.But we would like to use CRC16 instead.1) Am I understanding it correctly that only CRC32 algorithm is supported by the ST drivers ? Or am I wrong ?2) If I understood it correctly, and the ST driver does support only CRC32, does the actual HW support CRC16, or am I misunderstanding the datasheet, and the HW module supports CRC16

Hi, how can I call C function defined as uint32_t getValue(void) inside startup file (in Reset_Handler routine)? What is needed syntax? I tried importing it and setting it as extern (other standard keywords are not working), but nothing seems to work.I generated the project using CubeMX and use gcc for compilation. The uC is STM32F479VIT (cortex m4).

I've made a software so small that it does only the following steps:1) init clock and everything to work.2) in the main program I set PIN GPIO_A_8 to input with pull up enabled, nothing is connected to that pin except for a scope probe.3) then I configure PA9 to GPIO push-pull, here also nothing connected but a scope probe.4) a small task that sets GPIO_A_9 to high and to low with a dutycycle of 50% and every 100ms.5) on my scope image i see that pin PA8 follows pin PA9 but inverse output, so when PA9 goes up, PA8 goes down to 400mV, when PA9 goes down to ground level, PA8 goes to 3V3.I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong here and why PA8 starts to inverse following PA9. If I switch PA8 and PA9 (driving PA8) Then PA9 does not do anything strange and stays 3v3.I also do not think I have a short as the signal would never be inverted....If any of you have any idea what to do it would be appreciated. This is very strange at least.

I am using STM32CubeIDE to build a freeRTOS project. I have put my tasks in their own .h and .c files. For example I have a default_task.c file. The problem is each time I open CubeMX and save my changes, the 'auto code update' feature does not see my default_task.c file and creates a function in main.c. Is there a doc showing how to configure STM32CubeIDE and CubeMX so that I can have it update my code correctly? If not, is there a way to see what changes CubeMX will be making so that I can make them manually?

I have an STM32F7 which I have configured RCC's HSE and LSE as Crystal Resonator and am using HSE as a clock source for my project PLL Source Mux and PLLCLK for System Clock Mux. The RCC configuration does show conflict warnings at Master Clock Output 2 and Audio Clock Input options, since I am using SDMMC1 and they conflict, but I don’t use those for my project so I'm not sure it is causing the error to be thrown. When using the debugger trying to step through the generated code just to see how it executes, my project is failing at the SystemClock_Config(), specifically:   /* Check the HSI ready flag */   if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_HSIRDY) == RESET)   {    return HAL_ERROR;   }  }I’ve done everything in the configurator and there are no errors in the pin configuration section. I have not added any code yet to the generated code, so I am not sure what is causing this error.

Hello folk, i hope you fine, i am using the STM32L072, i need erase FLASH memory from 0x08008000 up to the end, i read in the datasheet that every sector has 4Kb and every page has 128 bytes, i have the following: FLASH_EraseInitTypeDef borrat;   borrat.NbPages = 1; borrat.PageAddress = 0x8008000; //flashAddr; borrat.TypeErase = FLASH_TYPEERASE_PAGES;   uint32_t pagE; HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); // HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&borrat, &pagE); HAL_FLASH_Lock();In this code it erase just a page from 0x8008000, is that true? so i don't understand how to erase all pages from start position up to the end, can someone helps me?¿Thanks a lot!
