Solved

Hi everyone!It's my first post and I'm trying to make something with the SPI but I met the problems. Even if I configure the interface (hopefully correctly), I can't communicate with any SPI device. I bought BMP280 as a simple sensor to communicate with. What I'm trying to do is to read DevID. It should be done by writing 0xD0 and then reading a byte (expected 0x58).But it's not working at all. Using logic-level analyzer I have noticed something weird - bytes sent by SPI are delayed by about half a period of the signal. About, because it's not equal between the next attempts... I have set CPOL=CPHA=0 on both STM32H7 and the analyzer. If I change one side to CPOL=0 && CPHA=1 then I get the expected data (decoded) but only sometimes and only on the MOSI (0xD0 sent). The screens below show both situations.CPOL=CPHA=0 BothCPOL=0 CPOHA=1 One sideI have checked connections, I have checked the sensor (with the different MCU, not STM), and I have checked different pin configu

When I first installed CubeIde I specified a workspace, but after some time I changed worspace folder. Now i want to delete that folder, btu when I do so, CubeIde creates it again.I looked into Startup and Shutdown -> Workspaces and I have there only my curent workspace. Seems like there is still link to old workspace somewhere, but I can't find it

Hello community!I set up a dmamux channel, which is working perfectly in unconditional mode(direct mux). Now I want to use synchronous mode, where the EXTI0 line Interrupt is the trigger(or latch), so it initiates the DMA request transactions. I get the exti0 interrupts, selected the right sync_id (0) and polarity in dmamux registers but there seems to be no requests firing. I verify that, by setting the TC(transaction complete bit) in the DMA channel and by sending more requests than defined in CNDTR.Some more notes:I trigger the EXTI0 by EXTI pending registerDMAREQ_ID is TIMx_UP, which is continuously triggering dma requestsDMAMUX Generator isnt starting neither when I select EXTI as trigger inputSPOL is rising in DMAMUXUsing STM32G474REI also tried it with exti1, but its not working with that neither.Am I missing something? I cant imagine that only 'real hardware interrupts' triggered by peripherals can be sync. triggers.

Hi, I would like to understand why I don't have the right frequency on my PWM. I am working on STM32F103RG.I would like to have a 8Khz PWM on Timer 3 channel 1, so I have configure my HSI to 8Mhz. APB2 Timer is set to 8Mhz. Prescaler to 10 and ARR to 100. So theoretically, my frequency PWM is 8Mhz, but when I measure it, I have 7.22khz. Around 10% from 8Khz. And HSI can have around 2% tolerance so this not the problem...Some one have this problem ? Why I can't be able to have 8Khz ?

Hello, I am trying to create external loader for MX25L12835F flash memory. My MCU is STM32H7B0RBTx and I followed "External QSPI loader how to" video series on Youtube. I used source files from the Github link that is shared below the videos. I had to change content of functions in quadspi.c file because STM32H7B0RBTx has OCTOSPI and contents of libraries are different. But I didn't change name of functions. When I try this test code it can reach end of the code without any error so I can read memory in the debug screen. After finishing test I include Dev_Inf.c, Dev_Inf.h, Loader_Src.c and linker.ld files. I used linker.ld for H7 devices to be sure that RAM start address is 0x24000000. In the Loader_Src.c file I only made these changes: I compiled code and created .stldr file and prepare it for STM32CubeProgrammer. When I try to read data STM32CubeProgrammer it says Data read successfully but it isn't showing correct data. When I try to upload test binary file with these

Hello,On STM32F401 is the HAL flash erase a blocking function? (one flash bank, no RAM functions) FLASH_Erase_Sector(idx, FLASH_VOLTAGE_RANGE_3); It's not explicitly stated anywhere. Datasheet says reading the flash while erasing causes stalling, which is also confusing. I guess it means stalls until flash erase finishes then it continues accessing the flash. If it's blocking then why doesn't it have return value of outcome, instead having to use another function like FLASH_WaitForLastOperation. And what's the point of systick timeout in FLASH_WaitForLastOperation if we never enter it while erasing, also systick is not served while flash is busy. And what's the point of having it as interrupt based, since program doesn't run anyway:HAL_FLASHEx_Erase_IT And why does the address space start with the smallest 16KB sectors, which are most likely will be used for user config? Why not put them at the end. Not to mention smaller standard 2KB sectors would have be

Hello ! My STM board is STM32-L073RZ. I've had a lot of problem with HC-06, tried to somehow send the command "AT" or "AT\r\n", but I didn't get anything back. The bluetooth wasn't connected to any device because the diode was blinking. - I tried changing the Baund Rate from 9600 to higher it didn't work.- I've tried to add Pull up on TX,RX (I've read maybe it doesn't have internal so I've added but it didn't work) : - I've even took off the voltage divider and it didn't work, It was added from the start like in this example : Here is the code :  char response[100] = ""; while (1) { // Send AT command to HC-06 char atCommand[] = "AT\r\n"; HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2, (uint8_t *)atCommand, sizeof(atCommand)-1, 500); // Add a delay to allow time for the HC-06 to process the command HAL_Delay(1000); // Handle the response from HC-06 (you may need to implement a function to receive and process data) // For simplicity, you can use a blockin

Hello, all, and Happy New Year.I'd like to control the contrast and backlight for an 4x20 LCD display (like the NHD-0420AZ-FL-GBW-33V3) using the programming in the micro-controller, in my case, a STM32L010K4Tx. For instance, I want to control the contrast through a user dialog, or use the backlight to 'flash' the display to call attention to it.The datasheet of the display's contrast pin just states, "Supply Voltage for Contrast (approx. 0V)".  A reference schematic just shows it connected to the wiper of a 10-20K pot connected at the ends to GND and VDD. For the backlight, the current is typically 15 mA at a voltage of 2.8-3.3v.I think that I could implement micro-controller control using PWM output pins, but I suspect that I'll need some sort of low-pass filtering, to smooth out the pulses, and probably current buffering, with a transistor or MOSFET, to deliver more current than the controller can sink or source.Has anyone done this type of thing before, and can point me to som

Hi! Just as a comment, did anyone had that kind of problem?uC is not found or easily losing connection while erase/program.Everything is properly designed and soldered (even programmer pins are temp. soldered to board).Every connection was checked and re-checked.But this chip just will lost connection. Unless. I apply a pressure to top of its case.A assumed bad design and poor soldering with first chip but after re-check (microscope, DMM etc.) and with next chip also behaving in the same manner - it just seems like the bad connection is internal in chip? Is it even possible? There is no problem with other pins (usb connection ect.)Ps. second chip was treated like an egg and soldered by hand with caution.Never had that kind of problem before, it really looks like bad solder, but no ...:)

i have 3 STM32C031G4U6 microcontroller i bought from digikey. no matter what i do i can not program them. i tried a cheap stlink v2 clone as well as stlinkv3minie. i have the swdio, swclk and nrst connected to the microcontroller. no matter what i do neither cubeide or cubeprogrammer recognize the microcontrollers but i can update the software on the stlink itself. it just says no device on target. what am i doing wrong?

I have an Arduino Giga (STM32H7), and I'm trying to generate PWM's. I succeeded using alternate function AF9 of PA7 (digital pin 5), which uses TIM14_CH1. Now, using the exact same code (as far as I can see) but using PA2/PA3 (digital pins 3 and 2) and alternate function AF4 (which use TIM15_CH1/2) I don't get any output for those pins. TIM15 does turn on though, i.e., it starts counting and restarts at the appropriate time.Even setting TIMx_CCMR1_OCxM to 0x5UL ("Force active level - OC1REF is forced high.") doesn't work for TIM15. I've also tried using TIM16 (which uses GPIOB), which I couldn't get to work either, which is weird because the functionality is identical to that of TIM14. I'm a bit new to this and I feel like I'm missing something obvious, so any help is greatly appreciated!    int VolRepTime = 11000; // Time to acquire one volume, in microseconds. int Laser1UpTime = 8000; // Time Laser1 trigger should stay up, in microseconds. int Laser2UpTime = 5000;

I want to send a file from terminal tool to stm32f429zi via RS485(USB to RS485 and transceiver) and store the received file in stm32F429zi board and again send it back to terminal tool and i want to know ,is it possible or not? and its not possible, what's the other ways to do these task.

Hello.For my project I'd like an option to update firmware on my STM32U575 over USB Type-C connector either with the computer or with the USB flash drive.Details:Board I'm developing has its own power, no power needed from USB. When connected to the computer the communication between the PC and the STM32U575 shall be bidirectional.If the flash drive is inserted STM32U575 checks for the firmware update file and performs the FW update automatically.Questions:USB Type-C does not have ID pin. Is FW update possible using USB Type-C?According to the schematic in the datasheet (section 3.3) I cannot use USB Type-C or can I?If yes, how should I wire my USB Type-C receptacle? Without additional interfaces in the middle if possible.

Hello,We have the RCC_LSCO of the U5 connected to a peripheral that warns that it will pull this line to ground when the peripheral itself is reset. At the moment, the pull strength of this peripheral is unknown, but let's say it's fairly strong.Does the U5 circuitry buffer the source oscillator that drives the RCC_LSCO output? I'd like to confirm that the peripheral's behavior will not impact the source oscillator, as it could be used for supporting timed wakeup of the U5.Thanks

Hello. I use the NUCLEO-G071RB together with the STM32CubeIDE (Ver. 1.14.0) and STM32CubeMX (Ver. 6.10.0). I completed the first prototype phase and ported the code to a custom board with a STM32G0 MCU.I used an external ST-LINK/V2 debugger to write the code to the custom board. The ST-LINK LEDs are flashing so I believe that connection is working.However, the next step is to program a SWD connection from the custom board (MCU) to the external ST-LINK/V2. for debugging purposes.Question: is the CMSIS-DAP interface library the best solution, or is a HAL library driver available for the SWD link? Ideally a SWD code example is available. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,I am using ISM330DLC and able to read X,Y,Z and motion FX library in my application (Gyroscope) to get Eluer angle's and here is my doubt that before giving the senor raw data to the FX library, we supposed to do the gyroscope calibration or the FX library will handle calibration?

Hi all i'm developing a bootloader on a stm32f407. I want to erase all the flash sectors except of the first 3 which i have the bootloader code. The problem is that to erase a sector it takes 1 second and i have an external watchdog on the board that has to be toggled at least every 600 msec. What i have relized is that while a sector is erased the mcu does not execute any line of code :\ I used these 2 functions to erase the flash HAL_FLASHEx_Erase_IT(&FLASH_EraseInitStruct) HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&FLASH_EraseInitStruct, &SectorError)But both functions use this function FLASH_Erase_Sector(pEraseInit->Sector, pEraseInit->VoltageRange)which takes 1 second long to execute. I measure the time of a function by toggling a pin before and after execution and measuring the pin with a scope.Any help will be very useful , thanks in advance

Hi .. I am using this function to erase some sectors on the flash bool FLASH_EraseSectors(uint32_t starting_sector , uint8_t number_of_sectors) { FLASH_EraseInitTypeDef erase_init; uint32_t page_error;   /* Erase the user Flash area */ erase_init.Banks = FLASH_BANK_1; erase_init.TypeErase = FLASH_TYPEERASE_SECTORS; erase_init.NbSectors = number_of_sectors; erase_init.Sector = starting_sector; erase_init.VoltageRange = FLASH_VOLTAGE_RANGE_3;   /* Unlock the Flash to enable the flash control register access *************/ FLASH_Unlock();   if (HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&erase_init, &page_error) != HAL_OK) { FLASH_Lock(); return false; } if (HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&erase_init, &page_error) == HAL_OK) { FLASH_Lock(); return true; }   }I would like to erase some sectors without breaking the 2 tasks running... The point is that it seems to destroy the tasks... Is there a safe way to delete the sectors in flash during a task execution in FREER

HelloI have this Board from WeActStudio: https://github.com/WeActStudio/WeActStudio.MiniSTM32H723 There is the following example which allows displaying the camera on the onboard LCD: https://github.com/WeActStudio/WeActStudio.MiniSTM32H723/blob/master/Examples/08-DCMI2LCD/Core/Src/main.c The example project is generated with STM32CubeMX for Keil uVision. When building and flashing the example with Keil uVision, everything works fine. I would like to port this example project to a Makefile project. I have used STM32CubeMX to generate a Makefile project. The .ioc file is given in the example project. This worked fine. I can build the project after manually adding a few .c files into the Makefile, which CubeMX didn't catch. After flashing the resulting binary, the onboard LCD is working fine. But the Software starts to hang during capture start as there are no HAL_DCMI_FrameEventCallback(). I can verify this with a debugger. The camera seems to be running, checking with an oscilloscope,

 Though, I was able to run the point-to-point communication using the SubG_Phy ping-pong example using the STM32CubeIDE programmer with the STM32WL55JC1 board. However, if I just enable a GPIO port (making any minor changes in the configuration) to the same SubG_Phy ping pong example, the whole code is regenerated to include the configuration changes to the code and it produces a lot of errors stating that "User to provide its board definitions". Only by just enabling a single GPIO port \ I am getting these many errors.  I tried many debugging tips like resetting, deleting the debug folder before running the program, restarting the whole project and IDE like for other projects, and replacing the radio. c and radio_driver.c files in the Middleware folder (as the errors were from these files) with the original radio.c and radio_driver.c files (before the changes). I tried my best to remove the errors and to run the program again, as the end goal is to successfull

When you look at your Nucleo-f207zg board, ethernet stage, you can see: 1. (CN14) RJ45 connector.2. (U11) magnetic-transformer.3. (U10) TVS diodes for diff pair signals.4. (U9) LAN-PHY device. First appreciation:Then you can see that not connected RJ connector pins, RJ shield and magnetic CT pins are connected to some kind of ground I guess it is not connected to any board ground, despite the own shield connector. So this shield will get a ground contact from a cable ground if cable is shielded.   Second appreciation:There are SB17 and SB16 solder bridges on the board, open state by default, between power stage ground and shield ground node. There is no information about these two bridges on Nucleo's datasheet.  My questions:- I'm wondering if the bridge is offered in order to join these two grounds directly or using ferrite, capacitors, etc..?- When should I connect these two grounds and when I shouldn't? what is better? to be connected or not?

Hi Guys. I want to increase memory allocated to the eclipse, but I cant find the eclipse.ini fille. Could you direct me into a right direction?

Hello, I am trying to find LL functions parallel to those in HAL library that support Flash programming and it looks like there is not support in LL for r/w flash. As HAL library is not an option for me, I am wondering if it is possible <writing directly to registers> achieve this goal, not so easy for me though.Any help/suggestion in how to go about it would be greatly appreciated

Hi,i am working on stm32wb55 nucleo board.I want to read data form one location of internal flash e.g 0x08047000 and write into the other location e.g 0x08007000.i found there is HAL_FLASH_Program API available to write data into internal flash but i can't found any API for read data from flash memory.Can you please help to how can i read data from the internal flash?please provide me if any example code is available.Regards,Arjun
